Announcements
Hello
Warriors! We are extremely proud to announce the names of the Semi Finalists
and Commended Scholars in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program, as well
as the College Board National Hispanic Scholar. These students are
honored for their outstanding performance on the 2014 PSAT, which they took
last October. The Semi Finalists are: Atlee Witt, and Zach
Woosley. The Commended
Scholars are: Ell Eshleman, Lexie Golden, Julia Goncalves, Ethan
Hoggan, Lucy Lutz, Sarah McEntire, Abigail Rictor, Hunter Sanborn, Graham
Shapley, Sarah Slack, Ethan Snow, Gabrielle Stein, Emma Vahle, and Emily Webb. The College Board National
Hispanic Scholar is: Lena Chavez. If you see these seniors in
class or in the halls, please congratulate them. Great job Warriors!
We have three days left Warriors to collect healthy non-perishable
food items for the fall food drive. Please bring in more items and drop them
off in classrooms and locations throughout the school. All food is being
delivered to Centennial Academy and East Elementary schools. Your help will
make a big difference!
Have you checked the Library Fine list
lately? Students have the opportunity to reduce their Library fine by
50₵ for every non-perishable food item brought to the library. Help
yourself while helping someone else in need. Canned food trades will be
accepted in the Library through November 9th.
Attention all FBLA members. There is a meeting today
after school in room E9. We will review competition information, vote on
t shirt designs, and discuss upcoming events.
Hey Speech and Debate Veterans, Varsity Season has officially
begun! Please join us for another year Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in room
C15. Are you new to Speech and Debate and missed the earlier meetings? Don't
worry. We would still love to have you on the team. Please come to any practice
for more information.
We will be holding the annual UNC Math Competition today
from 2:30 - 4:00 in room S-9. If you would like to
sign-up please see Mr. Low in the math department.
National Honor Society has a meeting today for current
members. This meeting is for seniors who were inducted last year, not for
new applicants who just turned in applications last week. If you are
currently an NHS member and would like to hear more information about important
volunteer opportunities, please come for a quick meeting after school today in
the Forum.
