Do you
like the show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Well, Arapahoe is going to
have its own improv comedy show on stage May 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the
auditorium. Come see the Theatre Topics class perform for you as they
prep for the district competition, then stay for the Company show that starts
at 7:00.
Attention
all members of National Honor Society... Our last meeting of the year is
scheduled for Wednesday after school in the Forum. At this meeting,
senior members can just turn in their service logs and leave, and then
juniors will hold elections for next year's officers. For service logs,
you can also turn them in at Mr. Smith's desk in the science office anytime
before the end of the school year. Juniors interested in running for
office do not need to register ahead of time, but they should plan to
speak about their qualifications for approximately 1 minute.
Attention current AP students! If you missed the
pre-registration meeting, you MUST come by the guidance center this week to
complete the pre-registration paper work. If the pre-registration paper
work is not completed by the end of this week, you will NOT be able to take an
AP test. It is very important that you see Mrs. Talen in the Guidance Center
as soon as possible!
AP Students, payment for any AP tests must be received by the
end of this week in order for you to take an AP test. If payment for AP
tests have not been received by Friday, May 3rd you will not be permitted to
take the test. Please see the bookkeeper for further details on payment.
If you
signed up to audition as a bulletin reader for next year, auditions will be
held in Room C20 after school today.
Athletics
Congratulations
to the Varsity girls' lacrosse team for their stunning victory over Chatfield
on Saturday. Chatfield was ahead 12-10 at halftime, and throughout the second
half. With 2 minutes left in the game, Arapahoe scored two goals to tie the
game, 12-12. During overtime, the Chargers scored one goal, followed by two
goals by the Warriors, with the game winning goal scored by Alexy DaHarb on an
assist from Kate Englert. The defense played a particularly superb game.
Led by Goalie, Brooke Engel, with eight saves, defenders Lindsay Sugo,
Kendall Cooke, Carey Kocur, Lauren Carpenito, Hannah Heurlin and Lindsay Ansay
held the Chargers scoreless in the second half. The whole offense played
well, also, led by Alexy Daharb with six goals. Way to go, Warriors!
Congratulations to the JV Black boys lacrosse team who won 7-5 against Chatfield Saturday! If you want to see the boys play again, come out to Denver City Park as they battle against Denver East at 4:30! Bring home another win Warriors!
Come out
and support your Varsity boys lacrosse team tonight on Senior night as they
take on Chatfield at 6:00 at LPS stadium!
Lower JV tennis match has been moved to
Columbine HS today at 3:30.
