Announcements:

This is a reminder that all Student Council officers and ambassadors are required to stay after school today to cleanup from Warrior Week - we will be meeting in the cafeteria right after school to begin cleaning up.

Interested in holding a position in student council? Attend one of our intent to run meetings on April 5th to hear what we do and what the application process entails. Meetings will take place in the forum at 6:45 and after school. Students planning to run need to attend at least one of these meetings.

Do you like math? I mean really like math? Well then you should come and challenge yourself at the Metro State Math Day Competition. On Monday, April 9th you can travel with Mrs. Bretz to Metro State and compete in algebra and geometry competitions as well as an engineering competition. This is a fun filled day of math activities. If interested, please stop by Mrs. Bretz's desk in the math office and pick up a permission slip or see Mrs. Bretz.

Athletics:

Today at 5:30 p.m. the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team will take on Grandview at Legacy Stadium. Come cheer the guys on to their 4th win of the season.

Ahoy, all Muse members!! We have a very important meeting after school today! We need all hands on deck as we plan the launch and voyage of our epic event, the Muse Showcase! Be there or be prepared to walk the plank! Let’s make this the best showcase yet, but we need your help. See you in the Art Room at 2:30.

“Art Attack" is fast approaching!!!! The Art Department is now accepting entries for our Annual "Art Attack".

The various categories are posted in the Art Department. If you have any questions, check with one of the

teachers in the Art Department. Get your entries in early!

Athletics:

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team as they continue their undefeated streak with a 13-1 victory over Chatfield. Way to go Warriors!

On Wednesday, March 21 the Boys JV Black Lacrosse Team traveled to Falcon Bluff Middle School to play the Chatfield Chargers. The JV Black team defeated Chatfield by a score of 6 to 1! JV Black is now 2 for 2!

The Girls Gold Lacrosse team won 21-4 against Eaglecrest. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Golf team. They have won two tournaments this week. The team took first place at the Broomfield Invitational, with Claudia Davis taking 1st place overall with a 72. Yesterday, AHS won the Grandview Invitational with Hannah Wood winning overall with a score of 71. Holly Schaefer took 2nd with a score of 75.

Hello Warriors!! For the second year in a row, Arapahoe High School is working with Heroes Forever to support the great families and pediatric cancer patients of this organization. We are looking to raise a RECORD amount this year. Tonight, March 21st at 7:00 p.m. is the traditional senior vs staff basketball game in the Main Gym. Also don't forget about the fun and entertaining stupid human tricks, dancing and head shaving that occurs at the basketball game!!! Tickets are $5. Warrior Week t-shirts are on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches. Warriors . . . lets make a different in the lives of some great kids! Together, as Warriors, we WILL make a difference!

Athletics:

Congratulations to the Girls JV Golf Team for taking first place in yesterdays tournament against Rock Canyon and Highlands Ranch. Our Arapahoe team was led by Michelle Moss. Keep it up ladies!

The Varsity Girls' lacrosse team continued its undefeated streak in its battle against Chaparral yesterday, beating the Wolverines 15 - 8. After Chaparral went ahead 3 -1 at the start of the game, the offense turned the tide, beginning with a goal by sophomore Britt Klosterman, assisted by sophomore Isley Walker. From that point forward, the Warriors never looked back, while great offensive plays, and outstanding defense sealed the victory. Congratulations Warriors!

This afternoon the AHS Boys Varsity Lacrosse team takes on The Chatfield Chargers at Falcon Middle School. Game time is 4:00 p.m. Come Support our Warriors!

The JV Girls lacrosse team keeps their winning streak alive. They played a tough game last night and beat Chaparral 12-8 Great Job Ladies!

There will be a You Matter meeting today after school in room C-13. We can use all the help we can get for our Spring Break project and it's never too late to join, so come on by! All are welcome.

Congratulations to our Warrior Winter Guard! This past Saturday they placed 1st out of all scholastic guards and they scored a season high of 80.8 points!!! Way to go ladies!

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Winter Percussion Ensemble for placing 4th in both preliminaries and finals at this past Saturday's WGI Regional competition at Northglenn High School. The Percussion Ensemble scored 83.2 points in preliminaries (which was their best performance score to date) and 81.5 points in finals!!! This earned them the highest score in the history of Arapahoe's Marching Percussion. Great job everyone!!!

Arapahoe Warriors, if you like music and play an instrument - or if you like creative expression through dance and movement - don't miss out on joining our award winning Warrior Band and Guard programs. Marching Band camp starts on June 4 and good times, friendships and strenuous work outs are guaranteed. As part of Warrior Week, the CU Buffoons and Arapahoe Singers will be performing tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the AHS Theater.

Athletics:

Congratulations to the Varsity boys lacrosse team in their victory over Mullen Saturday, with a final score of 15-5.

The girls JV lacrosse team defeated Green Mountain on Saturday, 12-5. Great job ladies! Their next game is tomorrow at Newton beginning at 5:45 when they take on Chaparral.

Congratulations to the girls' Varsity lacrosse team as they continue their undefeated streak with a 19 - 1 victory over Eaglecrest on Friday night. The defeat was truly a full team effort, exhibited by 14 different girls scoring goals on offense, and every defensive player contributing to hold the Eagles back to just one goal. Then on Saturday morning, the Warriors continued their great play by defeating Green Mountain at their home stadium in Lakewood with a score of 18 - 11. Senior team captain, Molly O'Donnell, topped out the scoring with 4 goals and on defense, senior team captain Annalise Stein led the pack to contain the Rams' offensive drives. Way to go Warriors!

Attention Freshman students! Hearing and vision testing is taking place next week from Monday, March 19th to Thursday, March 22nd. You will be testing during your U.S. History class. Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school next week. Thank you!

This is a reminder to all TSA members interested in attending the National TSA conference this June. The deposit and signed LPS consent form is due to Mr. McMullen by the end of the day Monday, March 19th. Flight and housing reservations will be made the next week before spring break. Please see Mr. McMullen ASAP if you haven't picked up your initial paperwork yet.

Athletics:

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team in their victory over the Brighton Bengals from Salt Lake City, UT last night. Warriors got their season off to a great start with a score of 12-6. Saturday, they take on the Mullen Mustangs at Mullen High School. Game time is 12:00 noon. Come out and support your Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse team for their stunning victory over Mullen Wednesday night at J.K. Mullen stadium. The team fought through a double overtime, AND, sudden death situation late into the evening to come out with a victorious score of 16 - 15 over their conference rivals. Senior Allie Camp, led the charge on offense, scoring 10 goals. The defense, playing tight against a stacked Mustang offense, contained the Mustangs' drives throughout the game. During the tense overtime periods, crucial saves by freshman goalie, Brooke Engel, secured the victory. Way to go Warriors!"

Today, the Varsity Girls lacrosse team has a game against the Eaglecrest Raptors at 4:30 p.m. at Newton Middle School. Tomorrow they play Green Mountain at 10 a.m. at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood. Keep those victories rolling Warriors!

The Swim Waiver for current AHS students will be given this Thursday, March 15th @ 6:00 am at the AHS pool. This is the only date before the end of the school year. You must pre-register with Mrs. Leyden in the

PE department. You can stop by her office near the Auxiliary Gym, email her, or leave a phone message at ext 6091. You cannot show up for the test if you are not registered.

Today is Maid Rite Sandwich Day and .75 cent fry day. Also today, a free topping with a Yogurt Yophoria purchase. See you at lunch!

Announcements:

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Winter Guard for placing 1st at this past Saturday's Regional Competition. The Guard scored 77.2 points which gave them the third highest score out of all the classes. Way to go girls and good luck this coming Saturday at the Doherty High School competition!

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Winter Percussion Ensemble for placing 4th at this past Saturday's competition at Northglenn. The Percussion Ensemble scored 75.1 points, which was their best performance score to date. Great job everyone and good luck this coming Saturday at the WGI Regional Competition, once again at Northglenn High School!

This past Saturday, the Boys JV Black Lacrosse Team traveled to Wheatridge to play the Farmers. The JV Black team defeated Wheatridge by a score of 7 to 1! It was an awesome first game for the 2012 season!

Congratulations to the AHS Varsity Girls' lacrosse team in their victory over St. Mary's Academy on Friday. The Warriors got their season off to a great start by beating the Wildcats 18 - 2 . Way to go team!

The Arapahoe swimming and diving team won the Arapahoe relays meet this past Saturday, beating out seven other teams. Their next competition will be against Mullen this Tuesday at home. Go Warriors!

Good Morning Warriors! . . . The Varsity Boys Basketball Team defeated Rangeview High School lastnight to advance to the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME Saturday night. The game will start at 8:00 p.m. at the C.U. Event Center in Boulder. This is only the 3rd time in the school's history that we have played in the finals
of Boys Basketball. Student tickets will go on sale today in the cafeteria during both lunches and after school from 2:15 - 2:30 pm. Go Warriors!

Attention Girls Tennis Players: Please attend the mandatory meeting for players and parents today at 5:45 in the forum. Please be there for ordering uniforms!

Attention all Arapahoe TSA members, there will be a TSA meeting after school today in room E10. This a special business meeting and we need as many TSA members as possible to attend.

We have Maid Rite sandwiches and .75 fries, BLT's w/and without cheese, and turkey bacon avocado wraps. Of course we will have all the usual items too.

Attention all members of National Honor Society... There are 2 important events coming up this week for our organization. The first is our monthly meeting, which is today after school in the forum. The second is our club photo for the yearbook, which will be taken before school in the gym tomorrow. This is the last day of TCAP testing, so juniors and seniors in NHS should gather in the gym for our photo at 11:00 before classes starts tomorrow. See you after school today and at 11:00 tomorrow.

Student admission tickets will be on sale in the Cafeteria for the boys basketball game on Thursday at the CU Event Center in Boulder. Tickets will be sold for $7. Arapahoe will also be taking a "Spirit" bus to the game. Cost is $5 for the trip (all students must ride this bus home from the game). Get your admission and bus tickets in the cafeteria from 11:00 - 11:30 and then again from 2:15 - 2:45 pm now thru Thursday. Go Warriors!

Attention Girls Tennis Players: We have changed the mandatory meeting for players and parents from this Thursday March 8th to Friday March 9th because of the boys basketball game. It will be held in the forum at 5:45. Please be there for ordering uniforms!

Student admission tickets will be on sale in the Cafeteria for the boys basketball game on Thursday at the CU Event Center in Boulder. Tickets will be sold for $7. Arapahoe will also be taking a "Spirit" bus to the game. Cost is $5 for the trip (all students must ride this bus home from the game). Get your admission and bus tickets in the cafeteria from 11:00 - 11:30 and then again from 2:15 - 2:45 pm now thru Thursday. Go Warriors!

Attention Girls Tennis Players: We have changed the mandatory meeting for players and parents from this Thursday March 8th to Friday March 9th because of the boys basketball game. It will be held in the forum at 5:45. Please be there for ordering uniforms!

Auditions for the 2012-2013 Tom Toms will be held on March 20th through March 23rd from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym. A mandatory parent/athlete meeting will be held on Monday, March 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the Forum. All interested girls should attend.

Announcements:

TCAP begins today. Juniors and Seniors will not be allowed in the building before 11 a.m. All students will begin classes at 11:35. Schedules are posted around the building.

The Arapahoe High School Speech and Debate Team competed this past weekend in the Region II State Qualifying Tournament. Congratulations to the following students for advancing to the state tournament to be held in two weeks in Ft. Collins: Blake Nelsen and Angie Mock in Lincoln Douglas Debate and the team of Larson Ross and Lizzie Stephani in Public Forum Debate.

Attention Seniors - the time has come to pick up your graduation announcements and accessories from the Herff Jones representatives on Friday, March 9th during lunch in the cafeteria. All balances due must be paid in full to pick up your order. Remember that personal checks will not be accepted at delivery. Money Orders, cash and credit cards are accepted at delivery. Please plan to pay for and pick up your graduation order at this time. Cap and gowns will be picked up at a later date.

Athletics:

The boys basketball team came away victorious in a very exciting game last Friday at the Denver Coliseum. They've advanced to the "Final 4" round of the 5A State Championships and will play Rangeview on Thursday, March 8th at 7:00 p.m. up at CU-Boulder. More information to come in tomorrow's announcements - stay tuned and GOOO WARRIORS!!!

Seniors interested in playing the Warrior Week charity basketball game must pick up an application from Mr. Brandberg in the World Languages office. Applications are due today.

Announcements:

TCAP begins on Monday, March 5th. Freshmen and Sophomores need to report to school by 7:15 a.m. Monday. Please check out the TCAP Room Assignments that are hanging on the Security Office wall in the Cafeteria for your assigned room. Juniors and Seniors will not be allowed in the building before 11 a.m. All students will begin classes at 11:35. Schedules are posted around the building.

Attention all members of National Honor Society... There are 2 important events coming up for our organization. The first is our monthly meeting next Wednesday March 7th, after school in the forum. The second is our club photo for the yearbook, which will be taken before school in the gym next Thursday, March 8th. This is the last day of TCAP testing, so juniors and seniors in NHS should gather in the gym for our photo at 11:00 before school starts. Please mark your calendars now, and then remember to be there on Wednesday for our meeting and on Thursday for our club photo. Thanks!

The State of Colorado has mandated that Littleton Public Schools raise student lunch prices to meet state requirements. This Thursday, March 1st, the current $2.75 student lunch price will increase to $2.90 and adult meals will increase to $3.40.

Athletics:

Good Morning Warriors . . . Tomorrow afternoon (Friday, March 2), the Boys' Basketball Team will be playing ThunderRidge High School in the Great 8 round of the playoffs. Tip-off is at 4:00 p.m. at the Denver Coliseum. Ticket prices are $9.00 for adults, and $8.00 for students and senior citizens. CHSAA also encourages carpooling because there is a charge for parking too. IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A WARRIOR!
