Hey Key Clubbers! If you want a t-shirt, sticker, and or Key Club Membership, you must fill out the form on the website by this Friday, November 2nd and pay membership dues by Monday, November 5th, at our next meeting! You will not become a member in Key Club if you do not do these things, so act now!

Athletics


Hey Warriors - our mighty Warriors are fighting their way through soccer and football playoffs.  Come support soccer tonight at LPS Stadium as the ABK take on Arvada West at 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students K-12.  No student passes will be accepted at this game. Please wear your Halloween costume, during half time there will be a costume parade. Then, on Saturday football will host Lakewood at LPS Stadium in a 1:00 p.m. playoff game.  Football ticket prices will be $8 for adults and $5 for students K-12. Again, no student passes will be accepted at this game. Good luck to all of our Warriors in their post-season - Go Warriors!!!

Attention Girls interested in playing Basketball this winter please plan to attend pre-season Camp tonight from 6:15-8:30. AHS has one of the most successful Girls Basketball programs in the state of Colorado and would love to have you join in on the fun and success. See you later today!

ATTENTION VOLLEYBALL FANS! Your Varsity Volleyball team has qualified for Regionals this year! We play at Chatfield High School on Saturday afternoon. We would love it if anyone could come support us as we try to earn a bid to the State Tournament! Your Warriors play Chatfield at 4pm and then Rampart immediately after. Come cheer us onto victory! GO WARRIORS!!!

All hockey players who are interested in trying out for the LPS CHSAA Ice Hockey team, it is time to register! The LPS hockey program is a combined team with players from Arapahoe, Heritage, Littleton, and Options.Please go to heritageeagleshockey.com website to register. Tryouts will be held on Monday 11/12 and Tuesday 11/13 from 3:55-5pm at South Suburban Ice Rink.

Halloween is tomorrow! Grab your friends and have lunch in the cafeteria tomorrow to partake in some fun Halloween games and contests. Please remember that while Halloween costumes are allowed they must be appropriate and adhere to school dress code. In addition, masks, face painting, weapons and/or any fake weapons are not allowed. Staff members will ask you to change if the costume is inappropriate.
The Food Drive is still happening this week. We will be collecting money in TRIBE tomorrow for Field Elementary School. The TRIBE in each grade level with the most donations wins donuts for their TRIBE!

Congratulations to the Girls Gymnastics Team for a strong showing at Regionals!  Carly Backer placed 4th on vault and will be competing this event at State's on Thursday!  Individual State Competitors also include: Carly Backer on floor, Alena Miller and Aspen Fredericks on vault, and Hope Jones on bars.  Good luck, Ladies!

Junior and seniors!  Today's visits from ASU and Wartburg College will be in the library.  Sign up in Naviance to attend visits from the University of Denver and Johnson and Wales later this week.
Seniors!  Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30th is the FREE application day for colleges in Colorado.  Submit your application and supplemental essays using the specific instructions provided in the senior specific section of the Post Grad website to have the application fee waived.  Your transcripts and letters of recommendation can be submitted after tomorrow, but before your actual application deadline.  
Halloween costumes are allowed Wednesday, but please make sure they are appropriate and adhere to school dress code. In addition, masks, face painting, weapons and/or any weapon facsimiles are not allowed.
All AHS students are invited to participate in the Halloween Lunchtime activities to be held during both lunches on Wednesday, October 31st.  The fun will include a costume contest, prizes will be awarded!

There will be a brief winter track meeting in W-1529 today, starting at 3:40, for any athlete not involved in a winter sport.

All girls interested in playing Basketball this coming winter please plan to attend our Girls Basketball Pre-Season camp beginning next week  Monday 10/29 thru Friday 11/2 6:15-8:15 PM, and the following week Monday 11/5- thru Saturday Nov 10th - times for the second week to be determined. Join Arapahoe Girls Basketball and be part of one of the most successful Girl's Basketball programs in Colorado.

Attention Volleyball Fans! Your Warriors took 3rd place in the Rangeview Raider Classic this past Saturday. After a tough loss to Castleview, they went on to sweep Fairview, Brighton, and Coronado, a ranked team from Las Vegas. Listen up for news about when and where we play our Regionals this weekend! GO WARRIORS!

The AHS cheerleaders traveled to Pueblo last Saturday to compete in the UCA Southern Colorado Regionals. Both teams represented Arapahoe with pride and placed well! Congrats to JV for an impressive routine and a 7th place finish. Shout out to Varsity for taking 5th place in the Game Day division and 4th place in the Traditional division! Varsity hit two ZERO deduction routines, and received a bid for both the Game Day division and the Traditional division for UCA Nationals at Disney World in Orlando in February. COME OUT AND SUPPORT THEM AT THEIR NEXT COMPETITION ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH FOR THE CENTENNIAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT 6:00PM AT CHEROKEE TRAIL HIGH SCHOOL.

AHS Cheerleading is selling tickets for their fundraiser night with the Denver Nuggets. Join in on the fun on Saturday, November 3rd, as the Nuggets take on the Utah Jazz at the Pepsi Center. When you purchase through AHS Cheer, your ticket is discounted and a portion of each ticket sold goes back to the AHS Cheerleading Program. Lower level tickets are being sold for $45, and upper level tickets are being sold for $29. Order tickets online by using the link on the AHS Cheerleading social media accounts, or by the link posted on the flyers around school. Ask an AHS Cheerleader for help if you need further information!

Your ABK Varsity boys soccer team played an extremely strong game last night in the first round of the playoffs beating Castle View 3-0!  Goals scored by Cameron Gail, Adam Hangland and Garrett Lyles with strong defensive effort led by Zach Miller and stellar play in goal by Spencer Cobb.  Next round of playoffs October 31st.

The Pride of Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band and Colorguard competed at the Colorado Bandmasters Regional competition state qualifiers last week, performing their show, Mother Nature. The band earned their top score of the season, and will advance to State Quarter Finals on November 2nd at the Air Force Academy. Congratulations to these amazing musicians and performers! Good luck Warriors, keep pushing hard toward state! We love our band!

There is an FBLA meeting today in the forum.  During the meeting teams will be decorating pumpkins.  Each pumpkin will be displayed in the cafeteria during lunch on Thursday and Friday.  Students are encouraged to vote on their favorite pumpkin by donating loose change. All change will be donate to the March of Dimes Charity.  
There is a correction to the swim waiver being given on Thursday, November 8th at AHS.   The test will begin at 7:00 am. There is still time to sign up. Please email Mrs. Leyden asap. Thank you
Attention Juniors and Seniors! The last student interest meeting for the Washington DC trip will be on Thursday October 25th at 7:55 am in Room C1436. Students who have already attended are welcome to come and get pre-registered for the trip before the deposit is due on November 1st. See Ms. Winn for additional questions!

NCAA presentation is being held today in the Forum during both lunches.  Grab your lunch and come listen to the process and qualifications for being an athlete in college.
Hey Warriors. The biggest event of the year, is almost here. DECA Dodgeball today, October 24th from 6 to 9 pm in both gyms. This year's theme is DECA Job-Ball. So come out and cheer on your favorite occupation. And yes, there is a teacher team made up of your beloved Arapahoe teachers. Admission to this awesome event is only $3. See you all tonight!
The Pride of Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band and Colorguard competed at the Douglas County Marching Invitational on Saturday, performing their show, Mother Nature. Arapahoe placed fifth overall and took first place in 5A competition. Congratulations to these amazing musicians and performers! If you are applying for membership in National Honor Society, remember that your application is due to Mrs. Arnold in the bookkeeper's office, along with your $15 application fee, by tomorrow at 4pm.  If you are already done, please turn things in early before the deadline, to help you avoid standing in a long line after school tomorrow.

Seniors!  On PLC Wednesday, October 24th, you can get help with the Common Application, essays, Naviance, and the blue tracking forms. Workshops will begin at 7:30AM in both the Forum and the library - you can work until the school day begins with support. Make Wednesday a productive day by taking advantage of this opportunity to get started, work on, or finish up those applications!
