General Announcements

Do you need to get a Prom ticket? Prom tickets will be on sale today during both lunches and also 4, 5 and 6th hours in the cafeteria!

Come tour the world in Hot Air Balloons in only one short night/morning at After Prom. From the Streets of Paris to the Wilds of Alaska, we will have it all for you. As always, Great Give Aways and a night to remember. Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches only for $12. They are $15 at the door.

If you are interested in reading the daily announcements next year, sign up for auditions in the Attendance Office with Mrs. Ayres. Auditions will be held May 4 right after school.

Juniors and Seniors, do you have your safe driving thumb band yet? Texting while driving increases the risk of accidents by 23.2 times so why don’t you promise yourself and others to stop. Today is the last day to come by the FCCLA table during lunch and sign the “9News Great Hang Up” pledge to not text and drive. You can also pick up a piece of candy and a thumb band to help you remember to follow through on your promise! See you there!

Attention all seniors! The Herald newspaper wants to know what your plans are for next year. Surveys will be passed out in your Social Studies class so that you can be included in the "Senior Section" of the final May newspaper. Surveys are due today. You may return them to the basket in the Social Studies department office, to Mr. Anderson in room E8, or to Sydney Streicher [Striker].

Do you love to dance or perform? Be a part of a winning tradition! The Arapahoe Color Guard is the top color guard in the State, and currently a Back to Back State Champion! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to be on the 2011/2012 team! If interested, your journey begins on.....Monday May 2nd at 7pm, for the Info Meeting for Students/Parents in the AHS Band Room. Tryout Clinics are Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-7:30pm in the Aux Gym and Tryouts are Friday the 6th from 6-8:30pm! Email Coach Bailey at arapahoecg@yahoo.com or speak to a current guard member if interested.

Students who would like to work on the newspaper or yearbook should get an application from Mr. Anderson in room E-8, or from the counseling office or the main office.

Attention all NHS members... Our last meeting of the year is scheduled for next Wednesday May 4th. At this meeting, senior members can just turn in their service logs and leave, and then juniors will hold elections for next year's officers. For service logs, you can also turn them in at Mr. Smith's desk in the science office anytime before the end of the school year. Juniors interested in running for office do not need to register ahead of time, but they should plan to speak about their qualifications for 30 seconds to 1 minute. See you next Wednesday at 2:25 in the forum!

If you signed up for the Medicine Class you must get a sticker from Mr. Craig before you turn in your registration card. Please visit him in the science department.

Wanted: Science Student Assistants! Please visit the science department if you are interested in student assisting during the 2011-2012 school year. Once approved…you will receive a sticker on your registration card.

Athletics

Arapahoe Girls JV White Lacrosse team beat Wheatridge High School 17 to 2! Come support your girls JV White Lacrosse team Saturday at 12:00 at Douglas County Stadium as they take on Douglas County High School.

Attention AHS Girls' Varsity lacrosse fans... Today, the team will play Chaparral High School at 4:30 p.m. at Sports Authority Stadium, which is off of Lincoln Avenue and Chambers Rd in Parker. We need all of our fans to come cheer our Warriors on to victory.

Congratulations to the boy's swim and dive team for defeating Smoky Hill yesterday with a score of 114 to 72. The Warriors had many great swims including Paul Fritter’s 200 Freestyle with an A-league qualifying time of 202.01. Senior Joey Fischer qualified for state in diving. Please support your swim and dive team on senior honor night this coming Tuesday vs. Cherry Creek. The meet starts at 4:30pm. Don’t miss out!

General Announcements

Today is student council election day. Be sure to come by the cafeteria with a student ID to help decide next year’s student leadership.

The Spring Jazz Concert will be held tonight in the theater. Featured groups are both of our fabulous jazz ensembles, as well as the awesome Arapahoe High School Jazz Combo. The combo will perform a pre-concert set at 6:45pm, and the main concert will begin at 7:00pm.

Hey Warriors, Prom is quickly approaching. Your last chance to buy tickets for $35 versus $40 at the door is today and Friday during both lunches. We will also sell tickets in the cafeteria after school for a half hour on today and Friday.

Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Tennis Team for an undefeated season. Don’t forget to meet today at 2:30 at the AHS courts.

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team played a great game last night. We lost 7 - 6 in double over time to Regis. Keep cheering on the boys as we go on to playoffs!

Congratulations to the Varsity ABK Girls Soccer Team for their 8 to 0 win over Cherokee Trail! They are one step closer to playoffs. Good luck tonight as they make the drive to take on Longmont at 7:00 pm.

Congratulations to the JV Black Boys Lacrosse team in their 5-4 win over Regis last night! It was a tight game, right down to the finish, but the guys held on with tough defense and good ball control. The boys continue their road trip against another tough opponent in Cherry Creek today at 4:30PM. Come on out to Cherry Creek High School to cheer the boys on to victory

Arapahoe Girls JV White Team beat Cherokee Trail 10 to 5! Come join your JV White Lacrosse Girls as they face Wheatridge High at 5:30 on Thursday.

Yesterday, your Varsity Girls' lacrosse team defeated Colorado Academy by a score of 16 - 4. Allie Camp led the scoring with 5 goals and one assist. Congratulations, Warriors. Keep up the hard work!

General Announcements

The Spring Jazz Concert will be held this Thursday night in the theater. Featured groups are both of our fabulous jazz ensembles, as well as the awesome Arapahoe High School Jazz Combo. The combo will perform a pre-concert set at 6:45pm, and the main concert will begin at 7:00pm.

Attention Warriors, this year’s Prom will be held at the Wildlife Experience on Saturday April 30. Prom tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches. The price of one ticket is $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Make sure to get your ticket for this year’s “moon lit serenade”.

If you are interested in reading the daily announcements next year, sign up for auditions in the Attendance Office with Mrs. Ayres. Auditions will be held May 4 right after school.

General Announcements

Juniors, this is a reminder to bring a calculator and two No.2 non-mechanical pencils for the ACT test that will be taking place tomorrow. If you have not yet registered for the test, you need to stop by the Guidance Office as soon as possible to do so. Room assignments are now posted in the Cafeteria. Please remember cell phones, ipods, or other electronic devices other than approved calculators are not allowed in testing rooms.

Classes for all students will begin at 11:30am tomorrow. Please plan to arrive after 11am.

There will be a mandatory Senior Class Meeting tomorrow, at 10:30am in the theater. Please enter through the East Entrance or Cafeteria.

Its Senior Night tonight for the Varsity ABK Girls Soccer Team! Come honor the senior players this evening at 7:00 pm at the LPS Stadium as the Varsity takes on Cherokee Trail for its last conference game of the season. Great job to the Varsity girls as they defeated Ft. Collins this past Saturday, 4 to 1. Go Warriors!

Last night, the boys JV Gold Lacrosse team was victorious over Kent Denver High School with an exciting 7-5 game. Go Warriors Lacrosse.

Congratulations to the girls JV Black lacrosse team for their stunning 19-6 victory Monday night over Heritage/Littleton. They continued their winning streak and look forward to keeping it going as they face Colorado Academy and Chaparral later in the week. Go Warriors!
