Athletics

Your Girls’ Varsity Tennis team completed their season with a 7th place finish at the State Tournament. Sarah Ray, Hailey Johnson and Lara McDougald all finished in 5th place. Saryn Mooney had an amazing finish of 3rd place in the State Tournament. Congratulations to all of the girls for a great and memorable season.

ABK Girls’ Soccer moves onto the round of 8 with a hard fought win over rival Heritage. Your #5 ranked ABK girls will take on #4 Air Academy at Air academy HS in Colorado Springs Tuesday 5/18 at Time to be determined. Please show your support for you ABK Girls Soccer team.
The round of 4 will be played starting at 11:00am 5/22 at Englewood HS and the finals will be played at Dicks’ Sporting Goods Park at 7:30pm on 5/26.

WARRIORS, today is your deadline to return all Library materials and pay fines. Your registration card will be held if you have any outstanding fines. Be sure to check both the library & bookkeeping lists.

Track & Field Uniform check in for everyone not going to the state meet will be on Monday May 17th at NOON. There will be pizza for lunch for everyone that brings their uniform washed for check in. If your uniform is not turned in at that time you will be issued a fine. Good luck track team this weekend on your quest to winning a league championship.

Attention to all boys interested in playing soccer in the fall. There will be a short informational meeting today @ 2:30 in room C-7. Summer workouts and team camp information will be given.

Congratulations to the Girls Golf Team for taking first place in their Regional Tournament edging out Cherry Creek and Heritage. Katy Dyachkova was second overall with a 78, while Sarah Moore was 6th with an 83. Also qualifying for state were Becky Gutknecht and Claudia Davis.

Warriors! Come out to LPS Stadium at 5:30 tonight. Your State Championship winning Boys’ Lacrosse team stands up to defend their title tonight 5:30 against Ponderosa. Be there.

Attention golfers: All boys interested in trying out for the golf team in August should attend a brief meeting at 2:22 p.m. on Wednesday in room S8. If you cannot attend, give your name to Coach Anderson or Mrs. Weems in the Athletic office.

Hailey Johnson, Lara McDougald, Kelly Ervine, and Rachel Severson all took second place. Cat Cole and Jessica Wener both took fourth place. Congratulations girls. The team competes at the state tournament starting this Thursday.

Congratulations to the students who have been selected to read the bulletins for the 2010-2011 school year. Please sign up in the Attendance Office to pick the day you will be reading.

Students, please be sure to clear your negative lunch balances by today. Stop by the Café between 7 am and Noon.

AHS parents will be creating a slideshow of pictures for display at After Prom. They will be collecting three kinds of pictures: pictures from throughout the school year, pictures of students preparing for Prom, and pictures from Prom and After Prom. If you have digital pictures that you would like to send in, visit the AHS web page for details on how to do that.

Attention all juniors and seniors interested in applying for Advanced Placement Science courses: The online application is available on the Science webpage, or on the individual teacher's webpage. The online application needs to be submitted by today, May 7th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! This year’s prom theme is “Time of Your Life” and it is approaching quickly. Tickets are on sale through today in the cafeteria during both lunches. The cost of a single ticket is $38, and will cost $45 at the door. Prom is Saturday, May 8, at 8:00 pm at the Denver Center for Performing Arts’ Seawell Ballroom.

The event of the year is upon us! After Prom is a wild and wacky Journey through the Pages. Come be a Wild Thing and roar a terrible roar with Max. Walk the Yellow Brick Road with some crazies in the Land of Oz. See what happened to that poor Augustus Gloop at the Chocolate Factory. We have Great Giveaways at the end of the night. After Prom tickets are on sale in the Café for $12.00 through today 2nd lunch, or $15.00 at the door.

Attention Warriors! The biggest and last regular season Girls’ Lacrosse game is tonight, 7pm, when your Varsity Warriors take on rivals Heritage/Littleton at LPS Stadium. Come on out and support your Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse team! Admission will be charged for this game, unless your student ID bears the district athletic pass stamp. Go Warriors!

Students who desire to opt out of the 3rd hour activity today, or whose parents desire you to opt out, can do so by informing your 3rd hour teacher. You can then report to the cafeteria or the library for the duration of that activity only. Please do not leave the building.

The band program presents its annual Spring Finale Concert tonight at 7pm in the Theater. The Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble will be featured. Small Ensembles will be featured at 6:30pm.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Sophomore Baseball team as they improved their record to 5 and 9 by beating Overland yesterday 33-3. Come out and support the team today as they play their last home game of the season vs. Cherry Creek at 4:30.

The JV Girls' Lacrosse team traveled to Colorado Academy last night and came away with a stunning 12-2 victory. Great work, ladies! They take on Douglas County tonight at 7:00 at the Douglas County stadium, and then play cross-town rival, Heritage/Littleton on Friday to finish out their season. Go Warriors!

The Arapahoe Men's Swim and Dive team destroyed Cherokee Trail yesterday in their last dual meet of the season. Winning every event, the Warriors finished the regular season with a bang. Don't forget that B-League is this coming Saturday at Cherry Creek.

The top ranked Arapahoe Warrior Girls’ Golf team took first place as a team in the prestigious Ashley Forey Invitational yesterday. Claudia Davis was second overall with a 77.

Yesterday was victorious for the Boys’ Lacrosse Varsity 2 team. They beat Mullen High School with a score of 15-12, and last Friday the Varsity 2 Lacrosse team beat Cherry Creek High school with the score 8-5. Congratulations to the Boys’ Lacrosse Varsity 2 for their recent victories, Go Warriors Lacrosse!

Good luck to the Boys’ JV Lacrosse team at their final three games this week starting at 4:30 at Powell Middle School: Tuesday against Mountain Vista; Wednesday against Mullen; and Thursday against Grandview. Come to one or come to all!

Athletics

The Freshman Boys' Lacrosse team finished up a very successful season on Saturday. They beat Grandview 9-4. The Warrior Freshman team ran their record to 8 and 4. Nice season guys!

Congratulations to both the Boys’ and Girls’ Track & Field teams for their outstanding performances this past weekend at the Liberty Bell Invitational. Your lady warriors finished 13th out of 33 teams and the boys’ team finished first out of 35 teams. Special congratulations to the 4x400m Relay team of Joy Dafoe, Taryn Phipps, Liz Smith and Stephanie Gerber for breaking the previous school record by over two seconds. Stephanie Gerber also broke the school record in the triple Jump by one inch. Great Job Warrior Track Team!

The Boys Lacrosse Varsity 2 team competes today with Mullen High School at 4:30PM. This is the last game of the regular season. Go Warriors Lacrosse! Stop by and support your Warriors to Victory!
