*Congratulations to the FBLA State team for their great performance competing at the Gaylord Resort last week. At the competition, five groups won first place giving Arapahoe High School FBLA more first place winners than any other school in the State of Colorado!  A big congratulations to Kaitlynn Pfannschmidt for becoming an FBLA State Officer and congratulations to Mrs. Pramenko for winning the FBLA Administrator of the Year Award!

*Tomorrow May 1st you will have the opportunity to vote for your next years student council executive officers. You will receive an email tomorrow morning and voting will take place during your tribe time. Thanks for your participation.

*Hey Warriors! Our annual Hot Dog Day, sponsored by Cherry Hills Community Church is this coming Thursday, May 2nd! The food is free and so is the fun. Come to the south patio to enjoy free hot dogs, chips and drinks for all students and staff. Save your money, grab your friends, and enjoy lunch right here on Campus! See you then!

*Come ONE, Come ALL!! - It is time to purchase your 2019 Tickets to "The Greatest Show" After Prom. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches this week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We will be accepting credit and debit card purchases this year in addition to cash or checks (made payable to AHS PTO).  Cost is $25.00 per person in advance and $30.00 per person at the door. Only Juniors and Seniors may purchase tickets and you may purchase only two total tickets. Also juniors and seniors may purchase an after prom ticket even if you are not going to Prom! Same rules apply for After Prom as for Prom regarding guests from other schools. Your guest form must be approved before you receive your tickets. After Prom will be located right here at Arapahoe High School from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM following Prom. It is very important that you remember that in order to enter After Prom you MUST have your tickets and photo ID with you.

*After Prom Tickets go on sale tomorrow.  Don’t miss some of the incredible prizes we have this year.  You select what prize you want with your ticket. Drawings done at 3:30AM on Saturday night and you must be present to win.  A sampling of prizes includes: A year of Chic-Fil-A, $500 Southwest Airline ticket to destination of your choice, 4 Tickets to Outlaws opener and $150 cash for food and more!

*Hey Warriors! Are you enthusiastic and interested in using your voice and talents to broadcast the daily announcements to our fellow Warriors next school year? Come to the front office to sign up by May 1! Tryouts will be held after school the week of May 6-10.

*Free Alive @ 25 class Tuesday May 7th at 3:45 PM - 8:15 PM in room W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get your driver’s permit after taking the class and many insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up online at www.aliveat25.us.To register for the class the password is "arapahoe". Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

*Juniors!  Come to the Forum tomorrow, PLC Wednesday at 8:30am, for a junior preview session to learn about what you can do NOW and over the summer to lessen the college application workload in the fall.    

*Students!  The Army recruiter will be here on Tuesday, May 7th to meet with students interested in learning about serving in the Army.  Please RSVP in Naviance or see Mrs. Hall by Friday to reserve a spot at this meeting. Lunch will be provided.

Athletics    

*Girls JV Lacrosse competes against Cherry Creek today at 4:30 PM at Newton.

*Boys Swim and Dive has their final dual meet of the season tonight at 5:00 PM. It is Senior night so please come out and honor our senior athletes.

*Juniors! Are you anxious about the fall college application season?  Come to the Forum this PLC Wednesday at 8:30am to learn about what you can do NOW and over the summer to lessen the workload in the fall.  

*Students & Staff: this coming Wednesday, May 1st is National Decision Day!  Wear your favorite college or program shirt to celebrate all educational goals beyond high school.  

*Guess what?! Key Club’s shoe drive for the organization “Soles for Souls” is STILL happening this week until Friday! Soles4Souls creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. Look for the big blue boxes around the building -- this is your last week to purge your closets for a great cause. All you have to do is bring any shoes you or your family members no longer want, dump them in a blue box, and you’re done! Let's see if we can donate 1000 pairs!

Athletics

*Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams for their performances at this past weekend Liberty Bell Invitational. With over 40 teams participating the girls team finished 15th and the boys team finished in 6th place.  A special congratulations to the 3200m Relay team of Alex Hershey, Stephen Haysley, Peter Fleming and Cole Trautman for breaking a ten year old school record. Their time of 7:53.35 is the fastest time this year in Colorado and currently currently ranks them 13th in the nation.

*Congratulations to your Varsity Baseball Warriors for getting their seventh win in a row, beating Eaglecrest on Saturday. The boys are at Coors Field this afternoon at 3:00 PM playing against Chaparral. If you are able, come on out and join us. Parking and admission is free.    

*Girls Warrior Varsity Lacrosse plays tonight against Cherry Creek at 8:00 PM at LPS Stadium.

*Arapahoe Warriors JV baseball defeated Eaglecrest 5-0 on Saturday! Two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Come see your Warriors play in their next home game this Wednesday against Cherokee trail!

*After last week’s victory over number one ranked Cherry Creek 12-7, the Boy’s lacrosse team (12-2)  heads into their final regular season game versus Regis Jesuit this Friday at 6:00 PM. Let’s pack the house at LPS Stadium for Senior Night and
show them who has the best lacrosse fans in the state!

All you have to do is bring some old shoes, dump them in a blue box, and you’re done!

*LPS/Heritage High School Gymnastics Fall 2019 Team Try-Outs will be held today April 26th from 4:30-7:30pm at Active Athletics for any gymnast interested in trying out for the Fall 2019 LPS/Heritage Girls Gymnastics Team!  Please see Head Coach, Andrea Miesen, when you arrive.

*Congratulations to freshman diver Collier Dyer on qualifying for State!

*Congrats to the JV Girls Gold Tennis Team for completing a winning season yesterday. Great wins against Mullen, Kent , TJ, Denver South and competitive play versus Chatfield and Valor this week. Go girls tennis!!

*The JV Girls Golf Team won the Centennial League yesterday! They have won all five of their tournaments this year. Maddie Leeder tied for 1st in the Centennial League, and Summer Sisneros had the 2nd best score.

*Varsity Girls Golf won their 3rd League tournament in a row yesterday!  Way to go Warrior Golf!!!!

*ABK JV girls defeated Mullen last night 2-1. Come cheer them on Tuesday at Arapahoe at 4:30 vs Eaglecrest.



*Saturday morning at 11:00 AM, your Varsity Baseball Warriors play Eaglecrest at home.  The boys are looking to continue their five-game winning streak by adding win number six.  Come out to the field and cheer the guys on to victory! It's senior day, too- so get there early to honor your favorite senior player!

*Girls JV and Varsity Lacrosse travel to the Western Slope this weekend for games on Saturday against Aspen High School and Grand Junction High School.

*Boys Varsity Lacrosse competes Saturday at Stutler Bowl Stadium vs. Cherry Creek at 2:00 PM.

*Arapahoe JV Baseball Warriors defeated Chaparral 11 to 5! Strong pitching and 10 hits made for a great game. Next home game is Saturday against Eaglecrest at 2pm!

*Congratulations to your Varsity Baseball Warriors on their 5th win in a row.  The boys swept Mullen, with big wins yesterday and Saturday. Keep it going, boys!

Athletics

*The Arapahoe Boys Swim Team won the Jeffco Invitational this past weekend, and Senior Mitch Burcham qualified for State in the 50 Free.  We broke two Jeffco Meet records: the 200 Medley Relay with Fletcher Hayes, Jack Berdahl, Daniel Bensen and Ben Brewer and the 400 Free Relay with Fletcher, Daniel, Jack Giesen and Nick Stephenson. The Warriors team will swim against one of their biggest rivals, Regis Jesuit, Wednesday night at 5:00pm at Arapahoe, diving is at 5:00 at Regis.  Please come out and support us!

*Congrats to the Fresh/Soph ABK Ladies as they battled Cherry Creek yesterday afternoon at home. The game went into overtime, but ended in a 2-2 tie. Way to fight, Warriors! Stay tuned for makeup games against Cherokee Trail and Mullen.

*On Monday, the Arapahoe Warriors Freshman claimed the lead in the fifth inning to defeat Smoky Hill 9 to 6.  Congratulations Warriors! Come out and cheer on the team as they take on Mullen High School on Wednesday.

*Come over to Mullen High School today at 4:15 PM when your Varsity AHS Baseball team looks to complete their sweep over the Mustangs.

*The Varsity Girls Soccer Team has a game today against Cherry Creek at the Stutler Bowl at 6pm!  Come on out and support your Lady Warriors!

*Congratulations to your varsity baseball warriors for their back to back wins this weekend. They beat Overland Friday and had a huge win over Mullen on Saturday.  The boys have now won four in a row! Keep that momentum going, Warriors!

*Congratulations to the Sophomore baseball team for winning their last three games at home! Come out on Tuesday and cheer them on at home in a game against Mullen.

*Congrats to the girls tennis team for their 1st place finish at the Pueblo South Invitational. At their respective positions, the team had five 1st place finishers, one 2nd place finisher, and one 3rd place finisher. The tennis team finishes their regular season this week with matches against Ralston Valley, Cherry Creek, Eaglecrest and Chatfield.

*The Boys Swim and Dive Team is holding a Wahoo's fundraiser tonight at the Wahoo's Park Meadows--that's just north of Dry Creek, off Chester, near Guitar Center.  Please come and have a delicious dinner between 4:00 PM and close, and the Boys Swim/Dive team will take home a healthy donation! Thanks in advance for your support!

*AP Students- We will be having AP Pre-Administration sessions today during first and second lunch in room E1287, the tiered classroom. Remember all AP students need to attend one and  only one pre-administration session. This is mandatory if you are taking one or more AP exams this May. See Mr Lewis or Ms Zimmerman with any questions.

*Cal Poly will be visiting next Tuesday to meet with admitted seniors to give them information on what to do prior to summer orientation.  Seniors, sign up in Naviance!

*Seniors! Please turn in your "Senior Bucket List" form for the final issue of The Herald in May. Turn in to the Post Grad Center or the Library. If you need a copy, come to room E-1288. Thanks.

*Your Arapahoe JV Baseball Warriors lit up the scoreboard in their game beating the Smoky Hill Buffalos 20-1! Catch your Warriors at home against Eaglecrest at 2pm on April 27th!

*Congratulations to your Varsity Baseball Warriors on their big 15 run shutout victory against Overland yesterday. Come out to today’s game at 4:15 PM here at Arapahoe as the boys go for another big W. Or join us at the field Saturday morning at 11 when the team faces Mullen. The snack shack will be open with tasty treats, too!  See you there!

*Congrats to your Arapahoe Girls Golf Teams! Yesterday, JV won their 2nd tournament of this week, and your Varsity Warriors won their 1st league tournament since 2014! Way to go Warrior Golf!

*Girls Warrior Lacrosse competes against Eaglecrest today! JV plays at 4:30 PM at ThunderRidge Middle School and Varsity plays at 6:00 PM at Legacy Stadium.

*Boys Varsity Lacrosse faces Kent Denver on Saturday at 5 pm at LPS Stadium.

*The Boys Swim and Dive Team is holding a Wahoo's fundraiser Monday night (tonight) at the Wahoo's Park Meadows--that's just north of Dry Creek, off Chester, near Guitar Center.  Please come and have a delicious dinner between 4:00 pm and close, and the Boys Swim/Dive team will take home a healthy donation!
