General Announcements

Congratulations to all FBLA students who competed at the FBLA State Competition in Vail this weekend!  Seven students qualified to compete  at Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee this summer and 11 students qualified in the top five. 

FBLA, this is the last day that your lettering sheet will be taken for this year. Do not miss out being recognized at our Business Awards banquet. Bring the sheets to the business office by 3:00 pm today.

Reminder: Alive @ 25 class today at 2:45pm in room W101 TODAY. If you signed up, PLEASE show up. Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

A reminder to all students applying for the Personal Finance Scholarship; scholarship entries are due tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. 

Tomorrow, in keeping with Federal mandates, the price of student lunches will increase to $3.00 each and adult lunches will increase to $3.75 each.  It's that time of year when all negative cafeteria charges need to be paid off, AND, no new charges may be allowed.  Please put funds into your account or keep cash on hand to make purchases in the cafeteria.  Thank you so much Warriors!!

Attention all Juniors and Seniors, it’s time for prom! Leap into your 20s spirit, don your best attire, and join us this weekend for the big event, A Party at Gatsby’s! The 2014 Arapahoe High School Prom will be this Saturday, May 3, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High! The dance will be from 8:00-11:00 pm. Tickets are $35 and will be sold all week during both lunches in the cafeteria! Tickets cost $40 at the door the night of prom so buy your tickets this week.  See you there, old sport!

Come see these Great United States in one Glorious night!!  After Prom 2014 will be Traveling Across The United States.  Games, disco, casino, fabulous food and friends.  What else could you want from midnight to 4:00 am on May 3-4?  Tickets will be sold Wednesday through Friday in the CafĂ©, cash only please.  $Tickets are $15 each this week and $18 at the door.

If you enjoyed the performance by the Color Guard at the spring assembly, maybe you'd like to join the team! The guard is holding tryout clinics and tryouts next week!  No experience is necessary...just a desire to perform and to try something different.  We will teach you!!!  Trained dancers would be awesome too!  Both girls and boys are welcome!  Come to the info meeting next Monday (May 5th) from 7:00-8:00 pm in the band room. See you there!

Athletics

More exciting news for Arapahoe’s Girls Lacrosse!  Last night, on our home field, Arapahoe's JV girls lacrosse team defeated Cherry Creek.  At half the score was 2-1 Cherry Creek.  But Arapahoe kept up the efforts with draw controls and field play making all the difference.  The game ended with a final score of 7-6 and an impressive 19 groundballs collected by our Lady Warriors!  An exciting victory for a team that keeps on fighting and contributing to the very end!

Attention Girls’ lacrosse fans.  This afternoon, #4 ranked Arapahoe will take on #1 ranked Centaurus at Centaurus High School up in Lafayette.  It will be a tough battle and we need lots of fans there to help cheer the girls on.  The Varsity game will commence at 4:30 p.m. and the JV game will follow at 6:00 p.m.  Let’s go, Centennial League Champion Warriors, let’s take it to the next level.  Beat the Centaur Warriors!

Attention . . . all boys interested in playing soccer next fall, there will be a mandatory meeting today at 2:30 in Room C-7.

Attention Freshman!  Hearing and vision testing is taking place this week from today to Thursday, May 1st.   You will be testing during your U.S. History class.  Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school next week. Thank you!

Attention all Juniors and Seniors, it’s time for prom! Leap into your 20s spirit, don your best attire, and join us this weekend for the big event, A Party at Gatsby’s! The 2014 Arapahoe High School Prom will be this Saturday, May 3, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High! The dance will be from 8:00-11:00 pm. Tickets are $35 and will be sold all week during both lunches in the cafeteria! Tickets cost $40 at the door the night of prom so buy your tickets this week.  See you there, old sport!!  Prom dance guest forms are available in the Attendance Office.  All forms are due by 3:00 pm today.​

Attention seniors.  A $1,000 scholarship will be offered to one student looking to attend college next year.  In order to apply, you must have taken a Personal Finance class.  Please stop by the Business Department or the Post Grad Center to pick up an application.  All applications are due Thursday, May 1st.

Hey Senior Boys!  Did you know it is required that you register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday? Once you register, you will be eligible for programs and benefits connected to registration, such as college loans and grants, government jobs, and job training. For more information, and to register, go to www.sss.gov.

Hey Warriors! Don't forget to join us today and support your ABK Varsity soccer girls team as they play their last conference game vs Mullen at home at 4:30. We'll be honoring the seniors before they take the pitch for their last home game of their high school career so come out and show your awesome Warrior support! Go ABK!!!!

Calling all Arapahoe Lacrosse fans!  Come cheer on our Junior Varsity girls lacrosse team as they take on Cherry Creek today at 4:30 at Newton!  Good luck Arapahoe!!  Beat Creek!!

Today is the last home swim meet for your boys swim team at 4:30 sharp! Come and cheer them on as they show Cherry Creek who is boss.  And it's senior recognition today, too--come and applaud these senior swimmers, and celebrate their successes over the past four years.  Claim your lane, swimmers!

Come and celebrate the Warriors Varsity baseball team's very successful season (they're 12-3) today at home as they play their last regular season home game against the Overland High School Blazers before heading into state playoff action. Game time is 4:15 pm.

Attention AHS girls lacrosse fans … last Friday, your #4 ranked AHS  girls’ Varsity team made history!  For the first time ever, the Warriors became the champions of the Centennial League.  This occurred after their 15 - 3 victory over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes, resulting in a Centennial League record of 7 - 0.  Congratulations, to the 2014 Centennial League Champions.  Way to Go, Arapahoe!

Attention Arapahoe girl's lacrosse fans!  We have two more victories to report for our Junior Varsity girls lacrosse Team!  Last week, JV dominated the Air Academy Kadets in the K-Dome.  Offense and defense playing amazing, shutting down the Kadets 13-2.  The score was 10-0 at half and Arapahoe continued their efforts until the very end.  Our goalie also contributed, saving 10 out of 12 shots!  The wins continued with a victory over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes. Our Warriors were in control from the opening draw and ended the game with a final score of 13 to 7!  Impressive wins for our Lady Warriors!  Keep 'em coming girls!  Go Arapahoe!

The ABK girls JV soccer team secured another win on Saturday, conquering Rocky Mountain HS 4-1.  Goals by Daisy Mercer, Kathleen Fedorowicz, Kiley Dindinger, and Casey Smoots gave the Warriors the winning edge, along with another great goalie effort by Kali Barber!  Come out to cheer on the JV girls this Tuesday at 4:30 on their home turf against Mullen for their last regular season battle.  GO ABK!

Hey Warriors, come out and cheer on the men’s swim and dive teams on Tuesday.  It is senior recognition night so help honor them at their last Centennial League home meet.  Also, come cheer on the diving team as they go for an undefeated season!  Watch Arapahoe’s top diver, Freshman Anthony Belitz, as he aims to improve on his team high, 5th ranking in the state!  Go Warriors!
