General Announcements

It's hard to believe, but Homecoming is just around the corner!  An important part of the Homecoming tradition is the royalty court, members of the Arapahoe family elected by their peers as representatives of the Warrior spirit to our community, school, and alumni.  Look for the voting forms on the AHS homepage and cast your vote by Wednesday, September 3rd.

Hey Warriors!  This year student council would like to invite the whole student body to participate in the Homecoming parade. If you are interested in making a float, make sure you have a staff sponsor and fill out the Homecoming parade form on the student council webpage by Friday, September 5th.

If you need to purchase school supplies during lunch, please come to the Business Office for assistance.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Freshman/sophomore boys soccer team for their 3-0 victory last night over Legacy. They are now 2 and 0 and have a big game at home next Thursday against Grandview. Come out and cheer them to victory.

Congratulations to the Freshmen Football team for their season opening win against Legend High School.

Varsity football plays today at Sports Authority Stadium in Parker at 7:00 p.m. against Legend High School.  This is the first game of the season so please come out to support your team!

Over the trails and through the canal, twice!!  Come watch your Arapahoe Warriors cross country team.  They will be competing against 57 other teams in the first meet of the season at DeKovend Park today.  The first of six races begins at 4:00 p.m., with over 4,000 runners competing.  Run strong!  Go cross country Warriors!

There will be a girls golf organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 2 right after school in Room S-11.

Hey Freshman . . . Join your LINK leaders today during both lunches outside in the South Lawn for Link Crew's Brown Bag Lunch Day!  Bring your lunch and your friends for a picnic with your awesome Link Leaders.

Class ring packets are available in the Main Office and the Guidance Office.  Orders for class rings will be taken in the Cafeteria Thursday and Friday during 1st and 2nd lunch.

B.   To think, ponder, or wonder?
C.   Arapahoe High School’s magazine of creative arts? 
D.  All of the above??  YES!! 

The MUSE is Arapahoe’s only magazine dedicated entirely to the creative arts, created entirely by students.  If you are interested in being part of an amazing team who will build this year’s MUSE magazine from scratch, please attend our first meeting tomorrow after school in Room C-17.  This meeting is especially important, as we’ll be talking about leadership positions. Come check it out!  

Hey Warriors! It's that time of year again, and Monday, September 8th, we'll be kicking off homecoming week with the talent show and crowning your Homecoming royalty. Make sure to get your nominations in TODAY!  Look for the links on the Arapahoe website.

Hey Freshmen!  Would you like to be a part of our class float for Homecoming?  Come to an organizational meeting tomorrow during first lunch in Room C-1.   Hope to see you there!

Jimmy John's is going to be handing out samples during the Varsity Volleyball home match against Heritage at 6.30 TONIGHT.  Bring your friends and get a free sandwich! 

All boys interested in playing basketball this year at Arapahoe, open gyms have started at 5:45 a.m. in the Main Gym. A schedule will be handed out then to all who are planning on trying out for this years teams.  Please contact Mr. Jansen if you have any questions.

Ticketing in the student parking lot will begin today.  If you do not have a valid parking permit appropriately displayed on your vehicle, DO NOT park in the lot, you will receive a ticket.

Reminder: Alive @ 25 class today in W101 at 2:45, if you signed up please show up. There is space still available for the class. If you are 15 1/2 and are interested in taking the class it is free, it is normally $39. Just show up at 2:45. The class goes until 7:15 p.m. Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

What better way to celebrate our first week of school than to come to the Back to School dance!  Doors open at 8:00 p.m. tonight for our annual dance in the cafeteria.  The cost is $5, and you must bring your student ID.  Arapahoe students only.  See you there!
