*Hey Seniors! Student Council for the senior class is making a memory collage from your years at Arapahoe. Don’t forget to upload pictures of your favorite memories from your high school years to the google form that was emailed to you. Please make sure your photos are school appropriate. Today is the last day to turn in your photos.

*Next week, the Post Grad Center will host Alabama, Baylor, and Colorado Christian University.  Be sure to register in Naviance 24 hours prior to the visit, secure teacher permission, and bring the signed pass to the visit.

*Do you like spikeball?  Enjoy playing cornhole? Then get a friend and sign up to play in  the 1st annual FBLA Backyard Games Tournament! The Backyard Games will be held in the main and auxiliary gyms on April 1st at 6:00 PM. Teams of two can pick up a registration packet for the tournament starting at 8:00 AM on Thursday, March 5th.  Packets will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to take part in this fun new event! 

*Do you have a sibling in preschool or kindergarten who has a big imagination? Do they love Dr. Seuss or other fun fictional characters? If so, please have them join us in the Arapahoe Theater on Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 pm for Tea with Seuss. Your sibling will love sharing snacks, stories, and songs with the fun characters from the musical Seussical, based on all of their favorite Dr. Seuss books! Make sure they don’t miss out on this great, free event! See Mr.Brooks in the theater with any questions, hope to see you there!

*Your LPS/Heritage Hockey team finished their regular season first in their conference. They have a first round playoff bye and will face Cherry Creek or Rampart in the second round in Fort Collins tonight.

*Our Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball Teams have both advanced to the next round of playoffs! The girls play tonight against ThunderRidge at ThunderRidge HS at 7:00 PM. The boys play Saturday night against Ralston Valley at Ralston Valley HS at 6:00 PM. Student tickets are $6 at the door. Let’s fill the stands with Warrior fans!

*Baseball tryouts begin Monday, March 2 at 3:45 PM. If you have questions please see Coach Dollaghan in the Social Studies office.

*The ABK Girls soccer team tryouts begin on Monday, Mar 2, 2020.  Contact Coach Hampshire with any questions. Tryouts will last Monday, March 2, through Saturday, March 7, at a minimum, with JV and Varsity pool players playing in a Scrimmage in Colorado Springs on Saturday. Come tryout and support the ABK Family!

*Any dancers interested in auditioning for the 2020-2021 Arapahoe Toms teams should attend the pre-audition meeting this Monday, March 2nd at 6:00 PM in the forum! Come learn about the program and meet the coaches!

*Seniors,are you good at writing, have a strong opinion and are looking for a college scholarship?  Naviance lists 10 active scholarship essay contests. The topics range from “safe driving” to “ the civil jury system” and lots of other topics.  Log into Naviance to see all the topics and requirements. Deadlines are approaching quickly.

*Seniors who have been admitted to the CU Leeds School of Business:  A representative from CU will be here (with snacks) this Friday to answer any questions you may have and give you a contact on campus. Sign up for this visit in the Counseling Office or in the library. Be sure to ask your teacher for permission to attend and bring the signed green pass to the visit.

*Seniors, please keep all scholarship award letters, even ones you do not plan to accept. Submit a copy to Mrs. Hall now and save yourself a step later in the scholarship reporting process!

This week, you have the opportunity to meet with college representatives from Metro State University of Denver, Arapahoe Community College, the University of Wyoming, the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, the University of Missouri, and Colorado Mesa University. *Shout out to Arapahoe TSA for a great State Conference! Our team made semifinals in: Assistive Technology, Board Game Design, Dragster Design, and Tech Bowl. Congrats to our Tech Bowl team for placing just off the podium in 4th place, and to our Assistive Technology Team consisting of Kayleigh Krueger, Taylor Kelly, and Andrew Wood for finishing in 2nd place in the State! So proud of you guys & gals, you represented Arapahoe High well!!

This will be a big game as they play for the “Eagle Cup” and will celebrate Senior Night. In addition, t-shirts will be on sale at the game for Urban Peak, which is a non-profit organization in Denver that provides services for youth ages 15-24 who are experiencing homelessness. Come out to support the team and Urban Peak!

*Please join the Arapahoe Baseball Team breakfast fundraiser this Saturday (2/22/20) between 7:30-9:30 AM at Applebee’s (8292 S. University Blvd -University and County Line) For $10 you can enjoy pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, milk, juice and soft drinks; but more importantly you'll have our players skillfully serve you and your family a great breakfast.

*Attention all FBLA Members.  There is an important FBLA Meeting today after school in the forum.  Grab yourself some ice cream at the meeting to celebrate the success of the FBLA District Conference.  In the meeting, we will be planning upcoming events such as the backyard tournament, Easter Egg Hunt and the AHS Carnival.  We hope to see you there!

*What a weekend for the performing arts!
  • Competition season is in full swing and Arapahoe Winter Guard is looking strong with a score of 72.65 and a  Second Place Award for their show at Saturday’s RMCGA competition! Amazing work Warriors!
  • The defending State Champion Arapahoe Percussion Ensemble started their 2020 season, performing their show, “Solaris” - finishing with a TIE for first place and a score of 77.25! Huge congrats to our Warriors!

*Your LPS hockey team had an exciting weekend of hockey! On Thursday night they clinched their conference in a 6-3 victory over Columbine. Saturday night they lost in a hard fought battle to Monarch 7-4. Today at 1:40 PM they play a rescheduled game against Cherry Creek at Family Sports Center.

*Any boys interested in playing for the AHS Boys Volleyball team this spring should plan to attend a player and parent meeting this Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Room E1287. 

*Anyone interested in being a part of the 2020 Arapahoe Warrior Track and Field team should attend an informational meeting today at 3:40 PM in Room W1529. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season and track camp! Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann.

*The latest edition of The Herald magazine came out this morning. Get your copy from your 2nd period teacher, or look for copies in the cafeteria news-stands and in the library.

*In Speech and Debate news, the team is headed out for their last regular season tournament tomorrow! Our students will represent Arapahoe, as one of 19 schools competing at the Columbine High School Rebellion Invitational. Good luck, Warriors! And an extra dose of luck in the post-season tournaments to come.

*Good luck to the 2019 State Champion Arapahoe Percussion Ensemble as they head into competition season this Saturday at RMPA’s contest at Monarch High School! Good luck to Arapahoe Winter Guard - as they spin their way on as the Winter Guard performers of Littleton Public Schools - they perform Saturday afternoon at RMPGA’s contest at Chaparral High School!
