General Announcements

*A special announcement from our Principal, Mrs. Pramenko:

Good morning, Warriors this is Mrs. Pramenko.  May I please have your attention for an important announcement.

By now, you probably have all heard that we will be having an extended spring break in Littleton Public Schools.  This break will begin on Monday, March 16th and extend through our regularly scheduled spring break. LPS district leadership will continue to monitor the situation with the spread of the Coronavirus and would, of course, make necessary adjustments to the return date of our break. But as of today, classes will resume on Monday, March 30th.  As of this morning, there are still no confirmed cases of the coronavirus here at Arapahoe. I know this is a very strange time for many of you, and it may seem a little odd rather than exciting to have an extra week off of school. What we have learned about this particular virus thus far is that while school-age children are not among those most at-risk, the extended spring break around the metro area will help keep the virus from spreading in our greater community especially to those who are most vulnerable.

Your teachers will be assigning homework as they would have been normally over your spring break.  They may also supply some resources and practice problems for you so that you are prepared when you come back.  Many of you have asked about having to extend our school year. As of today, I have been told that the State of Colorado will work with all districts so that doesn’t happen. If anything changes, I would, of course, communicate with you as soon as we know. As you know, this is not just a Littleton Public Schools issue it affects the entire state of Colorado, country, and world.  Decisions will always be made with the mindset of keeping our school community safe and healthy.

Please know we will do all we can to reschedule any of the Arapahoe events that have been postponed.  It is my intent to hold our traditional Arapahoe spring activities that create lifelong memories for you - especially Prom and Graduation. Please use this time to relax, read, spend time with your families, enjoy the outdoors and try hard to not be constantly distracted by your phone and social media. I will continue to communicate with you and your families over this extended break as needed and as things evolve.

Thank you for your attention this morning. As always, Warriors, take care of one another and yourself.

*Hey Senior Boys! Don’t miss out on your final chance to be Mr. Arapahoe 2020! Applications are due today!
