The Toy Delivery to Fairview Elementary will be Tuesday, Dec. 18. If you have turned in a permission slip to participate, please be in the circle drive at 12:15 Tuesday. If you have questions, please check with the Attendance Office.

PSAT results are in! If you took the PSAT, you can pick up your test results in the Guidance Office.

A reminder to the Art Club…your gifts for the family that you are sponsoring are due Monday after school. Please see Mrs. Hawthorne or Mrs. Hitchens if you have any questions.

Hey Amnesty members and anyone else interested in helping humanity!

We will be writing our holiday cards for human rights activist who are prisoners of conscience on Tuesday, in N-6 at 12:15 pm. Please bring a pack of holiday cards and a book of stamps and we will provide food. A fun time will be had by all, see you on Tuesday!

The Arapahoe Girls swimming team beat Heritage last night 98 - 87. Leading the way for the Warriors were state qualifiers Sam Abrams, Dani Howe, Beth Ambrozic and Paige Newell. Saturday, the Warriors will compete at the High School Invitational.

Tonight is the Annual Holiday Band Concert! It will take place in the theater - don't miss all the great music which will be performed by our very talented band musicians! The Pre-Concert Small Ensembles begin at 6pm, followed by the main concert at 7pm. We will feature Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Wind Ensemble. We will also feature our outstanding cornet trio of Melanie Brown, Steven Mumblo, and Dustin Flaum on the holiday favorite, "Bugler's Holiday!" Senior Bassoonist, Matt Cullen, will perform his senior solo feature - The Vivaldi "Bassoon Concerto." Admission is free! The Grand Finale will feature all 3 bands playing together on this year's Parade of Lights music entitled "Santa's Parade!"

Cramfest is a great way to build strong study methods by getting help from your upperclassmen LINK Leaders who have been doing this for years. So, bring your books and your brain and come prepared to study!

Congratulations to Ryan Beckett! He earned a perfect score on the First Round of the University of Northern Colorado Math Competition! First Round participants should see their math teacher or Mrs. Lobser in the Enrichment Room to receive their official score.

There is an Arapahoe Invitational meet at Arapahoe for the Swim and Dive team on Saturday with diving starting at 8:30 and swimming starting at noon. There is a meet against Castle Rock tonight for JV divers and the entire swim team.

Our Arapahoe High School basketball team is playing their first home game against Dakota Ridge this Saturday at 7 p.m. We appreciate all our fans who come out and support the team and, therefore, are giving a Cookie Bouquet to one lucky winner at each home game. More surprises at the game.

We still need 700 toys for the AHS Toys for Tots! If you have not yet brought a toy, we only have 3 more days to meet our goal. There are hundreds of little children counting on you. The toys will be going to some of the Indian children in the Denver area as well as to Fairview Elementary. Bring your toys to the Attendance Office or to one of your classes. Congratulations Warrior Marching Band – we were notified yesterday that in addition to winning second place at Friday’s Parade of Lights marching and music competition, we also won 1st place at Saturday’s lighting and overall presentation competition! That puts our cash prize winnings up to $850, and we were the overall 2nd place band at this year’s Parade of Lights!! Congratulations Warrior Marching Band!!!

HO! HO! HO! The toy box was overflowing with close to 200 toys this morning! We truly appreciate all of your contributions and so will the kids at Fairview Elementary. However, we are still in need of about 800 more toys. Come on Warriors, show us your spirit and bring those toys in!

A reminder to all National Honor Society inductees: Please remember that we have a rehearsal after school today at 2:30 in the theater. The rehearsal will last no more than an hour. The ceremony itself starts tonight at 7:00.

Attention to all NHS volunteers who are helping with the induction ceremony tonight: If you are handing out programs, please plan to be here outside the theater by 6:15 p.m. If you are helping with refreshments, please arrive in the cafeteria by 7:30 p.m.

Four of our Speech and Debate members were nominated for outstanding speaker at Cherry Creek's Student Congress. They are - Will Hea, Tony Junta, Ashley Lambert, and Alyse White.

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band who performed in this past weekend’s Parade of Lights! Arapahoe placed 2nd in Friday night’s Music/Marching Competition and was awarded $350! Way to go Warrior Marching Band!!

Over the weekend Arapahoe Thespians attended the Colorado State Thespian Conference with 2100 theater students from around the state. Molly Goodman was named outstanding Senior Technical Student for the entire conference and Laine Greaves-Smith won the award for Scenic Design. All auditioning seniors received call backs and scholarship offers.

Congratulations to Arapahoe diver Dani Howe who qualified for State. Dani came in first at the Home Meet against Highlands Ranch on Thursday.

As many of you may know, Arapahoe Junior Topher Wallace lost his house last week to a fire. Students and staff may donate to the Wallace Family Rebuilding Fund this week. Please stop by the table in the cafeteria to make your donation.

Attention new National Honor Society members. Remember that your induction ceremony will be Monday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the AHS theater. Also, keep in mind that there is a MANDATORY rehearsal on Monday at 2:30 in the theater. It is important that you be there so you will know your part in the ceremony and make your parents and special guests proud. The rehearsal will take about an hour. Make arrangements now!

Tonight and tomorrow night is the Downtown Denver Parade of Lights! Your Warrior Marching Band was last year’s 1st Place Grand Champion Band, and will be leading this year’s parade!! Don’t miss the Warrior Marching Band’s Performances tonight at 8pm, and tomorrow night at 6pm. If you can’t make it downtown, you can watch the parade live tonight on Channel 9, starting at 8pm. Good luck Warrior Marching Band!!!

Thank you to those who have brought toys for the AHS Toys for Tots Drive! We have 117 toys donated. We need another 883 toys to meet our goal. We have 5 school days to make it happen. Think about shopping this weekend for a child less fortunate and make their holiday special.

We need some TOYS!! Only 7 more days to meet our 1000 toy goal! Maybe you have toys in your car, in your home, or maybe your toys are still at the store – this is a great week to shop. No need to wait until the last minute, you can bring your toys in NOW! If you would like to go to Fairview Elementary to deliver toys on December 18, please pick up a permission form in the Attendance Office.

Just a reminder that tonight is the Amnesty International presentation on Fair Trade coffee. The cost is $5.00 to attend, coffee and goodies will be served along with a dynamic presentation. The event will be held at Heritage HS in the student center, we hope to see you there.

Hey Arapahoe, Key Club is creating Hero Packs for the children of troops that are overseas. Please think about bringing some fun items that are unbreakable, such as stickers, stuffed animals, a Frisbee, disposable camera, materials for photo albums or scrapbooks, journals, stationary or handwritten appreciation letters. You can drop things off at boxes in the library, Social Studies office or your history class.

Fifteen students earned a high enough score on the First Round of the University of Northern Colorado to compete in the Final Round on February 2nd on the Greeley Campus. Congratulations AHS for winning the Broncos Wives Food Drive for the second year in a row. A few of the Bronco players like Brandon Stokley and Daniel Graham, some cheerleaders, and Miles the Mascot will present our award during first lunch today. Special thanks go out to all of Mrs. Parmenter’s choir classes for their generous contributions. We could not have won without their participation. Thanks Parmenter!
