General Announcements

 Join us for Spooktacular fun during both lunches today!  Prizes and fun for everyone!  Activities include a costume contest, candy toss and candy guess! 

Want to see some less scary costumes? How about Santa Claus, The Statue of Liberty, and a Thanksgiving Turkey? You can see all those and more at The Pageant Plays which happen this weekend. Buy your tickets at lunch or online through Mr. Ahern's teacher page. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults.

Good morning, Arapahoe!  The food drive has officially begun and will continue until November 4th, so bring in your canned goods, cereal, baby food, and ethnic foods!  Cans will be collected tomorrow during your TRIBE class.  Or, bring cash to TRIBE where it will be collected.  The change will be used to buy cans.  $1 is equivalent to 2 cans of food.  The TRIBE class for each grade level that brings in the most change and cans wins!  All donations benefit Field Elementary School.  Don’t forget!

Attention, Warriors! Tomorrow is our fifth TRIBE meeting of the year. Please remember to bring your personal electronic device to class so you can take our district climate and culture survey. See you then!"

Congrats to the following AHS Staff members for placing 1st in their age groups at yesterday’s Littleton Stride 5k event.  Be sure to congratulate Mrs. Lombardi, Mr. Hatak and Mr. Mauler for their hard work. 

The annual UNC Math Competition will be held in room S-1417 on Wednesday November 2nd.  It is a 90 minute test that is open to all students.  Please sign-up in the math office by Mr. Low's desk.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Low in the math department.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard for three OUTSTANDING performances this weekend at the Colorado Bandmasters Association 5A State Championships!!!!  Arapahoe performed on Friday and Saturday at the Air Force Academy in quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals competition.  Arapahoe's final state ranking for 2016 is 7th place overall and the band earned a score of 75.35!!!!  GO WARRIORS!!!!

Attention juniors and seniors who are interested in the Washington D.C. trip this spring.  Please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mrs. Winn ASAP in the Social Studies office so you can register for the trip and pay the enrollment fee.  Registration for the trip and the first payment are due no later than Friday, November 4th.

Congratulations to Mr. Matt Phelan, who won a $10 gift card to Chipotle for his submission to the MUSE--Arapahoe's Literary Magazine.  Thanks to all who submitted! This month's submission period ends November 30th. Submit your poems, stories, and art to win!

Your Senior Class Panoramic Pictures will be taken on Thursday, November3d  at 7:50 AM in the gym.  Remember - this is the ONLY time pictures will be taken of your whole Senior class, so DON'T MISS OUT!  You only have one chance to be a part of this special event, so BE THERE on Thursday at 7:50 AM!"

The deadline to submit your membership packet for FBLA has been extended to Tuesday.  If you are interested in joining FBLA this year, please come to the business department office to pick up a packet.  

It’s time to announce the winners of the candy filled jar in the library and the staff candy jar in the main office.  And the winner’s are......Junior William Xu with the correct guess of 6 and our Bookkeeper, Mrs. Melanie Cheney with the correct guess of 63.

Athletics

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Cheer Teams for your awesome performances this past Saturday at the UCA Southern Colorado Regional competition in Pueblo.    League is coming up on 11/9 and AHS is hosting!  The Cheers need all the support they can get since it is at “our house” this year!  Go Warriors!



The Fall Swim Waiver will be given at AHS on Thursday, November 17th @ 6:00am in the AHS pool.  There are limited spaces available. You must email Mrs. Leyden or stop by the Women's PE Department to sign up. Students currently attending AHS, LHS, or HHS may take the waiver. The next swim waiver will be in March 2017.

As you know Halloween is just around the corner, and falls on a school day this year.  While you ARE allowed to wear costumes at school, please remember that all dress code rules apply.  You may NOT wear masks, full face paint or carry any type of weapon.  As you may have guessed, you are also NOT allowed to wear clown costumes this year.  We will have some fun activities that occur during lunch, including a costume contest for prizes!  Please plan on participating - it will be spooktacular!! 

Calling all poems, stories, and artwork! Students, submit your wonderful creations to the Muse Magazine by the end of this week to automatically enter yourself into a drawing for a $10 gift card.

Next week, the Post Grad Center will host Colorado Mesa and Arapahoe Community College.  Sign up in Naviance!

Attention seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship application is now open.  Are you a senior who demonstrates strength of character, leadership potential, community service, academic promise, and a well-rounded personality?  The Daniels Scholarship is a “last dollar” scholarship that will pay toward the remaining costs of a scholar’s education after all other grants and scholarships are applied. The scholarship is only awarded to students from our four-state area There is a need-based component to qualify. Stop by the Guidance office and see Mrs. Talen for more information.

Good luck to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard as they compete in the Colorado Bandmasters Association 5A State Marching Band Championships this weekend!!!  The marching band will be performing in quarterfinals tonight at 5:05 PM in order to qualify for semifinals Saturday afternoon and finals Saturday evening.  Everyone is invited to come down to Falcon Stadium at the United States Air Force Academy to watch the competition today and tomorrow.  We hope to see you there!!!

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team posted an opening round playoff victory yesterday against Aurora Central High School. The score was 3-1 with Reid Conant, Cameron Gail, and Noah Anthony scoring the goals for the Warriors. Next game is Wednesday 11/2, details to follow. Go Warriors!

Tomorrow, the Post Grad Center will host the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team advances into the playoffs with a game this afternoon against Aurora Central High School. This playoff game will be played at Littleton Public Schools Stadium at 3:15 pm. Come after school to cheer your Warriors to victory!

 AHS Girls Basketball- We have had an AWESOME turnout of players so far at Pre-season Camp! If you would like to join this awesome group it is not too late!!! Join us today at 5:30 in the Main gym and become part of the Arapahoe "Lady Hoops" Basketball program. See you tonight.

Hey Warriors!!! One of the most exciting events of the year is almost here. The annual DECA Dodgeball tournament is today from 6 to 9 pm in both gyms. This year's theme is "As Seen on TV" so come out and support your favorite TV shows and movies as they compete to become the 2016 Dodgeball Champions. Admission to this exciting event is only $3. See ya there Warriors!

 There is an important FBLA meeting today in room E1287.  We will be discussing the Trick or Treat Street Community Service Project and going over competitive events. FBLA memberships are due by Monday, October 31st.
