Attention freshmen! Hearing and Vision testing is this week!  Testing will take place during your English class. Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe TSA chapter for earning the White Star "TSA Chapter of the Year" award at the Colorado State TSA conference this past weekend. Special congratulation go to JJ Plummer and Emma Hopson for placing 1st in Debating Technological Issues, Allie Kolpak for placing 2nd in Extemporaneous Speech, and Emma Hopson for being elected as the 2017-2018 Colorado State TSA Treasurer.  We are proud of you Arapahoe TSA!

Attention Seniors! Stop by the Cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Thursday, March 2nd. Herff Jones will be here to deliver your graduation announcements and other items you may have ordered


Athletics

The Lady Warriors won their 2nd round game last Friday against Chaparral 49-42.  Maddie Matthews led the Warriors with 29 points.  The Warriors play Tuesday night at 7pm against Grandview at Grandview High School

Attention freshmen! Hearing and Vision testing is this week!  Testing will take place during your English class. Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school.

Congratulations to the Speech and Debate team! This past weekend, they attended the Region 2 state qualifier tournament at Golden High School, and there are four students who will be representing Arapahoe at the State tournament March 17th and 18th. We also have 4 alternates. Well done, team!

Seniors! The senior-staff basketball game is coming up on the Wednesday night of Warrior Week! If you are a basketball player or are interested in participating, please pick up an application in the Counseling Office. Applications are due Monday, February 27.

Today  is the last day to apply for the Wind River Trip. All Applications must be turned in to the attendance office by the end of school TODAY.

Good luck to our Speech and Debate team members on the State Qualifier tournament, going on today and tomorrow at Golden High School. We will have 11 students competing from AHS at the tournament. Go Warriors!

 Attention all Track Athletes:  The Parent Kick off meeting is Monday at 7:00pm in the Forum. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Student attendance is optional.

 Hey Warriors ~  Boys Basketball won an exciting game  against Pine Creek in the 1st Round of the state tournament.  Now we're taking our A-game on the road!  Let's pack the house at Doherty on Saturday for a 6:00 p.m.2nd Round game.  We will be taking a spirit bus and would love to pack the stands with Warrior pride so if you are interested in riding the bus please stop by the athletic office today before 3:00 p.m. and sign up.  Go Warriors!!!

Did the visit of the Arapaho people to our school last year provoke curiosity of a lifestyle and culture that you’d like to learn more about?.  Wind River Reservation Trip applications are now being accepted, if you would like to be part of the journey, you must apply. Applications can be found in the Activities/Attendance office, application and essay and must be returned by Friday, February 24th. There is limited space and applicants will be notified of selection by March 24th

The Post Grad Center will be hosting several colleges between now and spring break.  The University of Alabama will be here on Thursday.  Please log in to Naviance to view the complete list and to sign up.  

AP students, today is the last day to order your AP exams!  Please go to the AP website today to submit your order if you have not already done so.  As a reminder, ALL students enrolled in an AP class must fill out the form, even if they do not plan to take the exam.  Thank you!

Hey Warriors!  Boys basketball will host Pine Creek in the first round of the state playoffs.  Come out and cheer on the Warriors as the action starts at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night. Just a reminder that this is a playoff game so no SBA passes will be accepted.  Ticket prices are $5 for students and Senior Citizens and $7 for adults.  Go Warriors!

Seniors! The senior-staff basketball game is coming up on the Wednesday night of Warrior Week! If you are a basketball player or are interested in participating, please pick up an application in the Counseling Office. Applications are due Monday, February 27.

Congratulations to the Winter Percussion Ensemble on tying for first place at Saturday's Rocky Mountain Percussion Association show.  They performed at Harrison High School and scored a 74.1, enough to earn them a tie for the top spot at the first competition of the year!!!  Good luck to the Winter Percussion Ensemble during the rest of the season!

Congratulations to the Warrior Winter Guard for placing 2nd out of 10 teams this past Saturday at Loveland High School!  Our A-Team scored a total of 71.27 points out of 100, and were less than 2 points out of 1st Place!!!  Next performance is at Legacy High School on Saturday 2/25.  Keep up the good work Winter Guard!

The class of 2018 would like to thank all of those artists who participated in the Prom Art Contest.  The submissions were amazing!  Congratulations to Amy Raymond and Zippy Horch!  We will be using their designs throughout the prom season!


Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Boys’ Basketball teams for their wins over Cherokee Trail on Wednesday night. Make it a road trip this Friday February 17 as Varsity and JV visit Overland for the regular season finale. Can JV end their year year with a season sweep of the Blazers? Can Varsity enter the playoffs on a three-out-of -four winning run? Show your Warrior Pride Friday at Overland. JV at 5:30, Varsity at 7:00.  

Tonight, the basketball lady warriors play their final regular season game against Overland at 7pm in the Sitting Eagle Gymnasium. This is also Senor night so come out and cheer on the seniors! 

Any girls interested in trying out for ABK Girls Soccer this spring must be registered before they can attend tryouts.  The registration link can be found on the AHS Athletics home page or the Girls Soccer home page at ahswarriors.org.  Tryouts start February 27th so be sure to get registered as soon as possible.  GO ABK!

Have you been looking for a chance to support our troops overseas? Well, now's your chance! Donate deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other personal toiletries in the boxes around the school and your sophomore student council class will send packages to support the troops. You can drop off toiletries in the counseling office and the library. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Abner, Mrs. McNiff, or a sophomore student council representative.

Come out tonight, Wednesday, February 15, for Senior Night for Arapahoe Boys Basketball! 
JV plays at 5:30 and come help recognize our senior Varsity players tonight around 6:45 pm, just before the Varsity game against Cherokee Trail. It’s our last home game of the regular season, so take the opportunity to root, root, root for the home team!

 Congratulations Gannon Gosselin and Anthony Belitz.  Way to go Arapahoe  for qualifying for the state wrestling tournament. Action begins Thursday night and concludes Saturday.!s  Good luck Warriors!

Unity through Unified is back!!!! Our Unified Warriors will play both Heritage and Littleton High Schools tonight, @ 6 pm at Heritage High School.  Arapahoe needs to represent and Pack the Gym.

 You may make a donation at the door and which will give you a chance to win a signed Denver Nuggets Basketball. This is going to be Epic!!!! Look for the signs throughout the building with more details.  Go Unified Warriors!.
