General Announcements
First MUSE meeting will be today after school in Room E-11.

Art Club will be meeting tomorrow in Room E11 from 2:30 -3:30 p.m. All skill levels and abilities are welcome to join.  Hope you see you there.

Freshman … attend a class meeting tomorrow at 6:45 a.m. in Room S-9 to discuss the homecoming float. If you intend to run for office, please make sure you come.

Seniors! We will have a professional photographer, Kelly Weaver, on campus today and tomorrow. Last chance to get your yearbook portrait taken professionally for only $20! See Mr. Anderson in the journalism Room E-8 for details.

Students interested in purchasing a class ring: Order packets are available at the Front desk and in Mrs. DeBow's office in the Guidance Center. Representatives from Herff Jones will be in the Cafeteria during lunch times today and tomorrow to take your order - they will be asking for an $80 deposit at that time. 

ALL Arapahoe students are required to have their picture taken for a student ID. Any student that still needs their picture taken MUST see the photographer in the Guidance Office Conference room, this Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. - 

Free Alive @ 25 class for AHS students September10th, 3pm-7:30pm. The class is normally $39. To sign up go to the alive @ 25 website or there's a link on the schools website or talk to Deputy Englert.

Athletics
Hey Warriors!  The volleyball team kicks of their season TOMORROW NIGHT against Heritage at home. Come on out and help cheer the girls on to victory.  Varsity starts at 6:15.  See you then!

Attention all Girls interested in playing on the Lady Warriors Golf Team.....Please plan to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 4th after school at 2:20 in room S11. See Coach Abner in the women's PE Office if you are unable to make it. 

The Arapahoe Golf Team has been in full swing since August 10. We would like to congratulate the team who took first place at the Buffalo Run Invite out of 32 teams. They also placed first this past week at the Valor Invitational. Great job to our Arapahoe Golfers!

Your Arapahoe Warriors take on Heritage in the season opener football game to be held on Friday, August 31st at LPS Stadium at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during lunch and after school on both Thursday and Friday.  Ticket prices are $3 for students and $5 for adults.  Arapahoe students with an SBA pass will not need to purchase or pick up a ticket for the game.  All Arapahoe students must bring their school ID with them to the game.  This game will be the first official "BLACK OUT" of the year - Go Warriors!

Join your fellow Warriors for a 5th Quarter Party at Qdoba, SouthGlenn, following Friday's football game. Qdoba will be having a $6 meal deal for all Arapahoe Fans.

General Announcements

Warriors . . . Today in the cafe our special is sesame chicken, egg rolls, French dip sandwich, salads, and cold deli sandwiches.  Stop by before they are gone! Also, the USDA has mandated that a fruit OR vegetable must accompany every student meal. For quicker service, please be sure to choose one before you see the cashier.  See you at lunch!!

Auditions are next week for the fall play It's A Wonderful Life.  Sign up in the theatre hallway by Mr. Ahern's classroom for an audition time.  For more information, see Mr. Ahern or go to his teacher page.

The first Drama Club meeting will be held next Tuesday at 2:30 in Room E11.

Have you ever wondered if you would look good in a crown? To find out the answer, come to the cafeteria on Tuesday September 4th & nominate yourself or your friends for this year's Homecoming royalty court.  Nominations will take place all day.

Athletics

Congrats to the freshman, sophomore, and jv volleyball teams for their victories over Heritage last night.  The varsity lost in five games, but battled hard.  Thanks to the amazing show of fan support.  You guys rocked! 

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity soccer team who defeated Lakewood 5 - 0 in their season and home opener yesterday.

Congratulations to the boys fresh/sophomore soccer team for beating Rock Canyon 3-2 … way to go boys!

Warriors, this is a reminder that our first PLC is tomorrow! Please remember that classes will begin at 9:21 a.m.

Hey Warriors, do you have a special skill or talent. If so, we would love to see it at the fall talent show tryouts. Tryouts are today from 5:00-7:30 p.m. and tomorrow, August 29 from 2:25-3:00 p.m. We hope to see your talent so head to the main office and sign up at the front desk.

Welcome Back Warriors!  It is time to get involved in after school activities!  For anyone interested in joining the Drama Club, there will be two meetings coming up very soon.  There will be a meeting for all Freshman today, August 28th at 2:30.  The first meeting for all grades will be on Tuesday, September 4th at 2:30, which is the day before auditions for this year's fall play, It's A Wonderful Life.

How do you define Muse? 
A.   A Greek goddess of inspiration?
B.   To think, ponder, or wonder?
C.   Arapahoe High School’s magazine of creative arts? 
D.  All of the above??  YES!! 
The MUSE is Arapahoe’s only magazine dedicated entirely to the creative arts, created entirely by students.  If you are interested in being part of an amazing team who will build this year’s MUSE magazine from scratch, mark your calendar for this Wednesday after school, in Room E-11 (in the Art area), for our first meeting.  This meeting is especially important, as we’ll be talking about leadership positions.  Don’t miss your opportunity to join our creative work.   Don’t wait; do something cool this year & help us create our very own magazine, tomorrow at 2:30 in E-11.  Come check it out!

Seniors! The yearbook deadline for your senior photo and bio is Friday, Sept. 7. We will not use the student ID photo you took at schedule pickup, so be sure to make arrangements to take a formal portrait. We will have a professional photographer on campus this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. She will take your yearbook portrait for only $20. See Mr. Anderson in the journalism Room E-8 for details.

Hey Warriors, today is your second to last day to sign up for the fall talent show tryouts. Tryouts are on Tuesday, August 28 from 5:00-6:30 and Wednesday, August 29 from 2:25-3:00. We hope to see your talent at tryouts so head to the main office and sign up at the front desk.

The library will be closing today at 3:00. Please plan accordingly. Sorry for any inconvenience. 

Starting today, the weight room will be open after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 - 4:00.
