General Announcements
Congratulations to the Arapahoe Color Guard who had a very busy and successful spring break!  They traveled to Fresno, California for the Winter Guard International Western Championship and were a national finalist, placing 7th overall in their competition class!!!  This past weekend, Arapahoe Color Guard hosted a local Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association competition where they hosted 50 teams!  This was their biggest show yet!  In addition to hosting, they also competed and placed 2nd in their competition class!  Please come out and cheer them on this Saturday  as they perform for State Finals at the University of Denver - Ritchie Center at 8:21 p.m.  Excellent job ladies!!!

Student Council would like to congratulate staff and the student body on another successful Warrior Week!  Thanks to your enthusiasm, participation, and generosity, Arapahoe will make a $12,234.95 donation to the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association.  Thanks again for all your support in making the week a success. 

Attention all FBLA Volleyball Participants.  One member of your team must attend a rules meeting after school today in Room S1. 

It's that time of year again... time for the FBLA Volleyball Tournament!  This year is Disney themed.  Come cheer on your friends on Wednesday, April 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Main and Auxiliary Gymnasiums as they compete for the FBLA Volleyball title wearing their best Disney themed outfits.

Students interested in running for a student council office for the 2015-2016 school year should plan on attending one of the intent-to-run meetings.  Those meetings will take place tomorrow at 6:45 a.m. and at 2:30 in the Forum.
ATTENTION ALL ARAPAHOE ARTISTS!!!!  Art Attack is here.  This is the last week we will be accepting submissions for the show so don't wait!  Entry forms are located in the art department office.  See any art teacher for details or questions.  The show will be up in the halls on April 13th so make sure to check it out!
Calling all Warriors! The Senior Class needs your help bringing in winter coats and children's books to take with us to the Wind River Reservation when we visit in early April.   We will be collecting the books and coats until April 5th.  Collection boxes are located in the Trophy hallway, Library, and East Entrance. Thanks for your help!

Athletics


Over spring break, the freshman baseball team had a strong win over the Mullen Mustangs 14 - 6.  Way to go guys!

Come cheer on your JV Gold Girls’ Lacrosse team as they play Mullen High in their second game of the season.  They will play at Mullen at 4:00 p.m. today. Don't let the skirts fool you!  JV Gold got their season off to a great start with a 12 to 0 victory over Strive Prep before Spring Break.  Great sportsmanship girls!

Open gym for boys basketball start today at 2:30 and go to 4:30, Monday through Thursday for the rest of the school year.  



Attention interested volleyball players! Spring Open Gyms start tonight, and will continue every Tuesday until Finals Week. They will be held in the Auxiliary Gym from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. No forms or fees required, so come ready to play!

Head over to Regis High tomorrow to loudly cheer on your Warrior Swim and Dive guys when they take on the Raiders.  Meet starts at 4:30. Wear your black and gold!

General Announcements
Hey, Warriors! Thanks for the great spirit wear today, Warrior week has been a great success! We would like to thank all who donated their time and money throughout the week, and for those who haven’t done so already you still have time to make a difference! We will still collect money and sell shirts during lunch today, so be sure to give one last contribution! Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome is so thankful for all that you have all done and be sure to have a great spring break!

Attention Senior Boys!  This is the last week to apply for the Mr. Arapahoe Competition, which is sure to be one of the funniest and most exciting events of the year. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity. Applications can be picked up in the Activities Office and must be turned in by 2:30 p.m. today.

Athletics
Just try to keep up with our Varsity track and field team as they run, jump, vault, throw, and hurdle themselves over 21 other schools in this Saturday’s Sabercat Invitational at Sports Authority Stadium.  It’s the largest meet of the season so far.  Beat ‘em to the tape, Warriors!
Hello Lax fans ... The Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team takes on Overland today at LPS Stadium at 5:00 pm!  Come out and enjoy the sunshine and some good lax action! 

All boys interested in playing basketball for Arapahoe. We will start open gyms the Monday after we get back from spring break. We will have workouts Monday  Thursday from 2:30-4:30. It's a great way to get in basketball shape and ready for the 2015-2016 season. See you Monday!

Cheer Tryouts for the 2015-16 season will be held on Monday after Spring Break March 30th - April 4th.  Please make sure to register online through the AHS Cheer Website.

The 2015-16 Toms auditions have been postponed until further notice.  Please check the team's website for more information.

General Announcements
Hey, Warriors! Warrior Week is almost finished, and we’ve had some incredible events! Be sure to keep donating money, the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association needs us! Today is the first annual Ping-Pong Tournament at 6:00 pm.  Come and watch your friends and fellow Warriors.  If you are participating in the tournament, remember to bring your own ping-pong paddles.  It is great to see everyone in their March Madness getup.  Remember that tomorrow is Spirit Day dress up, we hope to see all of you in your Warrior week t-shirts, or your best Arapahoe black and old gold. Warrior Week t-shirts will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches! Have a great day!

Athletics

Congratulations to the ABK Varsity soccer team in their 4-0 win over Pomona Tuesday night!  The girls are 5-0 for the season with no goals scored against them. Great job Warriors!  Mark your calendars for the next game against Heritage on March 31st at 7:00 pm at LPS stadium

The JV Black girls LAX team is on a roll with three wins this week!   They are proving to be unstoppable and won their match yesterday against the Air Academy Kadets with a score of 19-2!   Great job girls and a big thanks to the tremendous coaching staff!

Great team win for the Varsity boys lacrosse team over 10th ranked Grandview!  Most of the 37 member roster got on the field to contribute to the victory.  Friday, 5:00 pm at LPS Stadium the guys take on Overland!  Hope to see you there!  Highlights:  Ben Newell's season debut game in goal with solid goaltending throughout the game;  Charlie Leonard and Hunter Knowles dominated the middle of the field with 10 ground balls between them; Seniors Shindoll and Wilson led the attack with 4 goals each and a couple assists; Junior Grant Evans with 2 goals, 2 assists, and 2 ground balls; Junior Sam Cofield with a goal during man-down, and Freshman Riley Moynihan with his first goal of the season! 

The Warriors Swim and Dive team will take on Overland High at AHS tonight at 5:00 p.m.    Be there to cheer them on!  Swimmers think if you don't see the sun come up from the pool, you have wasted half the day.    Go Warriors . . . see you at 5:00!

JV Track and Field is off to a running start and the action continues this afternoon at Grandview.  If you see students sprinting through the halls or jumping over you to get into class, now you know why.

General Announcements
Happy St. Patty’s day Warriors! Yesterday was a great start to Warrior Week. Let’s continue our great spirit, and continue raising money for the Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association! Wednesday is Decades Day so dress as a flapper, hippie or in your best 80’s apparel. Also, come out to watch your seniors take on the staff in our yearly basketball game in the gym. This game will also feature stupid human tricks where students will perform their secret talents. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Tickets will be $5 dollars and will be on sale in the cafeteria along with t-shirts during both lunches!

Come out to Wednesday's seniors vs. staff basketball game at 7:00 p.m. and watch students get a chance to pie teachers.  You can pie Mrs. Pramenko, Mr. Wallace, Mrs. Syers, Mr. Morahan, or Mr. Cross.  Additionally, there will be a dunk contest as well as other entertaining stupid human tricks.  And let's not forget, we'll be raising money for kids with Down Syndrome, who will also be in attendance.  It will be a fantastic evening full of memorable events supporting a great cause.  You don't want to miss out!  We hope to see you tomorrow night.

A huge congratulations to junior Jack Hansen for winning 1st place in the state wide Denver Center Theatre Company Playwriting competition! Jack's show was selected from over 100 submissions and now will be performed by professional actors at the Denver Center this summer!

There is an important FBLA meeting tomorrow after school in Room E9.  All FBLA members are strongly encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to Chloe Graham who had a hole-in-one in her first high school golf match.  It was on a Par 3 146 yard hole at Kennedy.  

What a fantastic end to the ABK Girls Soccer Warrior Tournament on Saturday night with a goal by Sydney Maxson in the final minute of overtime to crown the ABK Varsity Champions of the Warrior Tournament. Thanks to all the fans who can out to support the team!  Best of luck to the girls tomorrow against Pomona!

Big SHOUT OUT to the AHS students and fans who rallied to support Varsity boys LAX Friday night!  You made a difference!  It was an outstanding victory over the Regis Raiders Friday night with a final score of 8-7 in the last minute of the game.  Bravo to our boys who came out with a winning attitude and played as a team to the bitter end.  We all felt the strength of our Warrior spirit on and off the field.   Game MVP Dylan Calkins dominated!  Dylan had 5 fourth quarter saves to help clinch the win.   Dylan and our defensemen held the Raiders to only seven goals!  Kudos to Brian Wilson for leading the attack with four goals!  It was a senior sweep with scoring... all 8 AHS goals scored by Wilson, Shindoll and Golding.  Get ready for more Varsity boys Lax action with home games both Wednesday and Friday nights this week.

Attention Warrior Girls’ lacrosse fans, congratulations to our girls Varsity team for getting a “W" over Kent Denver yesterday! The final score was 10 -7! Please come cheer the girls on today at Stutler Bowl Stadium, as they take on Grandview High School. Game time is 6:30 p.m.! Come cheer them to their third victory!

Congratulations to the JV Black girls lacrosse team on their exciting 11-9 win yesterday against Kent Denver!  Way to go!  Today, they will travel to Grandview for their game at 4:00 p.m.  Come out and show the Wolves what Warrior spirit looks like!

Come cheer on the JV Gold girls lacrosse team at STRIVE Prep: Smart Academy today at 4:30.  "Teamwork makes the dream work.

AHS girls golf took 4th place out of 25 teams at the Silver Creek Invitational on Monday.  The Warriors were led by Nikki Backman, 89 and Gabby Membel with a 93.

Congratulations to the JV baseball team in their win 13-3 over Highlands Ranch!  Come join us today at 4:00 p.m. here at AHS and cheer them on as they play Chatfield.

Congratulations to the freshman baseball team.  They won their season opener yesterday against Highlands Ranch High School 15-11.  Great start to the season guys.

You have two chances to see your Warrior Swim and Dive team in action this week, both events here at home.  Today, take time from celebrating St. Pat's day to be at the pool at 4:30 to see the team take on Lewis Palmer.    On Thursday, March 19, the meet against Overland High begins at 5:30 p.m. at AHS.   Swimmers believe oxygen is overrated.  Go Warriors!
