General Announcements

Have you ever wanted to be Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean or another Disney character? FBLAs volleyball tournament is Disney inspired.  If you would like to take part in the tournament, it is coming up on April 1st.​ Sign up opens for FBLA members today after school at our meeting.  Registration opens to the entire school on March 2nd and spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Don't miss out! Team packets will be in the Business Office starting Monday, March 2nd.

Free Alive @ 25 class will be Wednesday, March 4th in Room W101 from 2:45 p.m. - 7:15p.m. for Arapahoe students. If you are 15 1/2 and are interested in taking the class it is free, it is normally $39. Sign up on line at www.aliveat25.us.  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

Lost and Found:  Please check the table in the cafeteria for clothing items and the Attendance Office for smaller items.   After today, all items will be donated.​

Athletics

Tonight wear black and come support your Arapahoe Varsity girls basketball team at their first playoff game here at Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. against Fruita. It's going to be a "Black Out" so wear black and come support your Lady Hoops!  Playoff ticket prices are $5.

All JV and Varsity boys basketball players, there will be a mandatory meeting today after school. Have all uniforms washed and ready to turn in.  Again this is a mandatory meeting.

Attention all FBLA Members.  There is an FBLA Meeting today after school in Room E9.  At the meeting, packets will be handed out for early FBLA volleyball tournament registration.

Hey Warriors, how many of you liked forming teams for events like DECA Dodgeball?  Well, this spring during Warrior Week we are introducing, for the first time ever, the all school Table Tennis Tournament!   Anyone interested in participating needs to form a team of four and stop by Mrs. Lee's desk in the English office and grab a sign up packet.  Packets will be available until tomorrow and there's a limited amount of teams so it’s first come first serve.

Auditions for the 2015-2016 Tom Toms will be held on March 17th through March 20th, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym.  A mandatory parent/athlete meeting will be held on March 9th, at 6:00 p.m., in the Forum.  All interested girls should attend.

Hello Seniors! Please check your LPS email account for a survey from the yearbook staff.  Many of your responses to this survey may be used in the senior section of the yearbook (and possibly the final issue of the newspaper). Thanks.

Unified would like to thank everyone who came to watch their final home game of the season with a victory over Thunder Ridge High School. The final score was: 86- 77.  Mariah Cornell and Mallorie McNeill  scored the most points for the team. The game ending basket was made by senior Sarah McConnell.  Congratulations.

General Announcements

The Technology Student Association (or TSA club) participated in the Colorado TSA State conference this past weekend, competing against over 1,300 students from across the state.  Special congratulations go out Kiley Dindinger and Maddie Lomme for their 3rd place State finish in Biotechnology Design, and to Lily Yesayan, Gabby Stein, Hannah Lea, and Monica Smith for their 2nd place State finish in Fashion Design.  Way to go,  AHS is proud of you!

Athletics

Congratulations to the 2015 Arapahoe wrestling team, our Band of Brothers who prove that Warriors Always Take Care of One Another.  Another year of hard work, dedication, supreme effort, sacrifice, and achievement by every member of the team is in the books.  The state wrestling tournament was this weekend.  In Colorado there are 53, 5A Varsity wrestlers in each weight class. The state 5A tournament consists of the top 16 wrestlers from each weight class. Foster Houts and John Daniel earned an elite spot in this weekend’s state tournament.  Congratulations to John Daniel who finished 4th overall. An amazing achievement John!  Thank you coaches for your time, dedication, and skill.  A program that is this great for our young men only happens when the coaches are as great as each of you!

Your Arapahoe Varsity girls basketball team finished their regular season with a 19 and 4 record after beating Cherokee Trail Friday night 70-47! Seven players scored. Double digit scorers were Jennah Knafelc (24) and Macy Ziegler (21) followed by Jordyn Vega (9) and Annabelle Brewer (6). Rebounds were led by Annabelle Brewer, Jennah Knafelc, and Macy Ziegler. Steals were led by Annabelle Brewer, Katie Crowley, and Macy Ziegler. Now the Lady Hoops will begin their playoff schedule. Congratulations on a great regular season with a 19 and 4 record and a 12 and 2 record in League!  The Arapahoe Girls Varsity basketball team have earned the second seed in the playoffs!  First playoff game will be this Friday, February 27th at Arapahoe!  More info to come!  Way to go Lady Warriors!

Warrior fans!  After a season in the hardest league in the state of Colorado our boys basketball team made the playoffs!  Congratulations!  They will play Doherty at Doherty in Colorado Springs on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.  We need all the Warrior faithful out to cheer us on in the first round!  Good luck boys!!! 

Everyone come to the Main Gym tonight to watch the last Home Unified game of the season, The team has been winning nail biters at the buzzer. Come and enjoy a great night of basketball and cheer your team on.

Know you could never tell by looking outside but the 2015 spring sports season starts today! Pink Cards will be distributed in the cafeteria after school.  Remember you must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Office prior to receiving your pink card.  Go Warriors!
