General Announcements

Picture re-takes will be taken today from 10 a.m. to noon in the main office hallway. Please return your photo packet to the photographer for retakes.  If you have NOT had your picture taken, please do so on Tuesday. You need to have this photo for your student ID card. All students are required to carry a student ID card.

Juniors, the PSAT test will be taking place on October 15! Registration is going on now in the Guidance Office. Just bring your photo ID and $15 to sign up for this important test!  Also, Math and Language Arts study sessions for the PSAT will be offered next week at 6:30 a.m. in Room S-10. The math sessions will be on Tuesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 9th. The Language Arts sessions will be on Wednesday, October 8th and Friday, October 10th. Come to these sessions so you’ll be even better prepared to take the PSAT!


Athletics

Your Varsity boys soccer team is taking on Overland today at the Arapahoe High School soccer field at 4:30.  Come out and cheer them on.

Open gym today after school at 2:30 in the Main Gym for boys basketball.  Tomorrow open gym will be at 5:30 p.m., and on Thursday at 5:30 a.m.  Remember to register online.

There will be NCAA/NAIA Compliance Orientation today during lunches in the Forum for all Juniors and Seniors interested in competing in athletics on the college level.  For more information and to sign up for this meeting, please stop by either the Athletic or Guidance Office.

Pink cards for Winter Sports will be distributed in the Cafeteria on Wednesdays from 2:15-2:45 p.m.  You must register online and have a current physical on file prior to receiving your pink card.

Registration for the 2014-2015 girls swim and dive season is open.  Go to www.ahsgirlsswimdive.com and click on Registration to get started.  Additionally, plan to join us tomorrow in the Forum for the new swimmer/diver meeting from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

General Announcements

Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard for two outstanding performances this past weekend at the Legacy Marching Invitational!!!!  Arapahoe placed sixth overall in finals competition with a score of 69.65 (fourth overall in 5A competition) and improved their score from prelims by 1.5 points!!!!  Great job!!!!  The band and guard will be competing at the Douglas County Marching Invitational at Douglas County High School on Saturday, October 4th and will be performing at 3:45 p.m.

Hey Key Club! Don't forget that we have a meeting after school in room N2.  See you there.

Athletics

Congratulations to the JV tennis team for their undefeated season. The team had huge wins over Cherry Creek and Mullen to close out the competition.  Thank you to the Captains, Jimmy Hall, Ben Ollada, and Nolan Ollada for their leadership. Thanks to all the players for a great season.

Athletics

Congratulations to the boys tennis teams!  It was a great season. Varsity boys finished the season with seven wins and three losses.  On to Regionals next week!  Go Warriors!

Hey Warriors! Come out and support the Varsity Football Team as they take on the Heritage Eagles Friday night at LPSS.  Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches Thursday and Friday.  Students  - please remember to bring your student ID to the game.  If you have an SBA pass on your ID, you will not need to purchase a ticket.  Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students K-12.  Avoid the long lines at the stadium tonight - get your tickets today at school!  GO WARRIORS!!!

To help get your spirit on, the cheerleading booster club will be selling black and gold pom poms at the football game today during the first quarter.  Let's cheer on our Warriors to a victory over Heritage!

Freshman and Sophomore Volleyball had a great victory over Grandview last night. League play continues next week with games against Mullen and Eaglecrest. Come out and support your volleyball Warriors!

The Arapahoe Varsity Boys Soccer team was victorious over Eaglecrest yesterday by a score of 3-2. Arapahoe’s Goals were scored by Mike Chism, Preston Gallegos and Jacob Draudt.

Hey Warriors!  Dodgeball registration is finally here. This year's theme is World Wide Dodgeball. Teams will be made up of five boys and five girls. Registration is first come, first served and only the first 24 teams to register will be allowed in the tournament. Pick up your registration packet in the Business Office starting today.

May the force be with you at the F-B-L-A scavenger hunt! Come members, come all tomorrow right after school in E9!

Athletics
The Varsity and JV tennis teams defeated Grandview yesterday. Today will be a beautiful sunny afternoon so drive over to Creek and watch both teams serve up some aces against the Bruins. Matches start at 3:30.  Then don't forget to watch the last two matches of the season on Wednesday and Thursday on the AHS and Powell courts. Go Warriors.

Warriors volleyball has two home games this week, tonight against Mullen, and Wednesday against Grandview. Jimmy John's will bring samples to the concession stand on Wednesday night, so come get a free sandwich while you watch the game! Come out and support our Warriors on our home court!
The Arapahoe High School Baseball Booster Club meeting scheduled for tonight, September 23rd, has been canceled.  Please plan on attending our first meeting on Tuesday, October 14th, 7:00 p.m. in the Forum.  Thanks!
