General Announcements


Seniors:  Today is the last day to pick up your photo collage and your baby picture, they will be available at Fun in the Sun.

Grades 9-10 & 11 . . . today is your deadline to return all library materials.  Your registration card will be held if you have any outstanding fines.  Be sure to check both the library and bookkeeping lists. 

Students please be aware that during the four days of finals the library will be a QUIET STUDY AREA only.  If you need to have group discussions for an assignment please do it in the cafeteria. Thanks for your cooperation.

Attention Warriors:  The cafe will only be open Monday and Tuesday of finals week, so please plan ahead.  If you still have a negative balance, please be sure to pay that off before Friday the 17th.

All student fees must be paid this week!  If you have an outstanding balance you will not be able to complete arena scheduling next week.  Check your infinite campus account to see if your fees are paid; or check the lists outside the bookkeeper's office and the library.  Don't miss out on that class you really want because your fees are not paid!

Members of National Honor Society, please remember to turn in your Service Log before the end of the school year.  You can turn your service log into the basket on Mr. Smith's desk in the science office.  Thanks for a great year!

Student visitors are not allowed at Powell at any time during the school day. If they are coming to see a teacher, then they must get approval from the teacher, and then meet or "visit" with the teacher after 2:45 p.m.  Thanks!

Looking for something to do June 10 - 15? Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office? The Sheriff's Office will be hosting a free youth academy for six days in June. This is an opportunity to see the responsibilities and challenges of public safety in Arapahoe County. See Deputy Englert for more information.

Athletics

ATTENTION WARRIORS:  Here's some detailed information regarding the Boys Lacrosse game against Cherry Creek  tomorrow....  The State Championship Lacrosse game will take place on Saturday, May 18th at Sports Authority Field.  Game time is 4:30 pm.  Student tickets are $10 and parking is free in Lots A & B.  Spectator entrance is at Gate 10 and the Arapahoe section is on the Northwest side of the stadium.  Go Warriors!

All PE lockers must be cleaned out by the end of school today.  Locks will be cut and all clothing left after Monday will be donated.  This includes all athletic lockers and sports teams.

Congratulations to Suize Fitzgerald, Michelle Harcrow, Janie Pierson, Kendra Weber and Kristen Cobbet whose team took State in girls Varsity hockey!  Great work ladies, you had an amazing season!

The Varsity boys lacrosse team had an outstanding victory over Regis High School with a final score of 13-5. The Warriors advance on to the state championship game. Good luck Warriors.

Tonight the Varsity girls' lacrosse team moves on to the quarterfinal round of the State Championship series. They will take on number one seeded Regis, at Regis' Lou Kellogg Stadium.  Game time is 6:00.  Please come out and support Your Lady Warriors as they march on toward the State Championship title! Go Arapahoe, beat the Raiders!

Come out and support the Varsity boys lacrosse team as they take on Regis tonight at South High School. The game will begin at 5:00. This is the semi-finals so come out and cheer on the Warriors.  Good luck boys!

Attention Girls Golfers, equipment check-in is today after school.

Attention Boys Golf Team...there will be a meeting with Coach Buckner at 2:45 pm in Room C-1. Hope to see you there!

General Announcements

Grades 9-10 & 11 . . .
Friday, May 17th is your deadline to return all library materials.  You registration card will be held if you have any outstanding fines.  Be sure to check both the library and bookkeeping lists.

Yearbooks will be distributed today from 2:20 to 3:30 p.m.  NO BOOKS will be distributed before 2:20SENIORS: You will pick up your books on the south side of the cafeteria. This is something new this year – a special distribution area for seniors!  All other students will get their books on the north side of the cafeteria.  You must show your photo ID or an Infinite Campus printout with your photo to pick up your yearbook.  Additional signing page inserts will be on sale for $1.

Color Guard try-out clinics and tryouts are this week!  All interested students should come to the info meeting on tonight at 7 p.m. in the Band Room.  Clinics and tryouts will be held the rest of the week.  No experience is necessary.  Come be a part of a winning tradition!

Athletics

The Girls Tennis Team competed in the State Tennis Tournament last week and placed 5th out of over 20 competing schools. For the Warriors; Tate Schroeder placed 4th overall at #1 singles, and Callie Nicoulin and Lauren Myers became State Champions at #4 Doubles. Congratulations to all the girls on their outstanding achievement!

On Saturday, the Varsity girls' lacrosse team trounced Chatfield in a decisive 20 - 9 victory.  After trading goals with the Chargers in the first half, the Warriors scored five unanswered goals to head into halftime with a 9 - 5 lead.  Arapahoe never looked back.  On offense, eight different Warriors scored, with four girls having three or more goals.  The scoring was led by Alexy DaHarb with five goals. Chandler Ramsey kept the ball on the offensive side by snagging six draws, and then, contributing two goals and four assists. The defense, led by goalie Brooke Engel with 10 saves, and Lindsay Sugo, Lauren Carpenito, Carey Kocur, Lyndsi Ansay and Hannah Heurlin smothered the Chargers offense exceptionally well.  Well done, Warriors!  On to the quarterfinals!

Congratulations to the Varsity boys lacrosse teams as they defeated Columbine 11-6! The Warriors move on to the semi finals and will play Regis on Wednesday. Got luck warriors!

Attention Girls Golfers, equipment check-in is Wednesday after school.
