General Announcements

Come by at lunch this week, today and tomorrow to purchase your tickets for after prom.  They are $20 each or $25 at the door.  All the food you can eat, great entertainment and the chance to win amazing prizes!  When you buy your tickets, enter our raffle for the chance to win:  Tickets to Water World, tickets to Elitch's, Rockies tickets, Film on the Rocks passes, passes to the Denver film festival, and a pack of four to indoor go karts!  Good luck!!
Going to prom? Don't wait in long lines to pick up and buy tickets - buy them online now, and pick them up at lunches this week. The only days for cash sales will be today and tomorrow and you know all the procrastinators will be there. Be better, be efficient. Take care of it online and at lunch ASAP!

Attention all seniors who have taken Personal Finance class.  Applications for the $1,000 personal finance college scholarship are available in the post grad office.  Applications are due May 1st.  
Dear Seniors, thank you for completing the Arapahoe Graduation Survey as soon as possible. It is available on Naviance through Wednesday, May 6.
Instructions are posted on the home page of your Naviance account. Accurate, complete information is essential. If you have questions, please stop by the Post Grad Center.

Do you need job experience? Or something to add to your resume? Do you have too many unscheduled hours on your schedule for next year? If you answered yes to these questions then we have a great opportunity for you. We need student workers for the DECA store for the 2015-16 school year. Students interested in working in the store can pick up an application in the Business Office. Completed applications are due tomorrow, May 1st. See Mrs. Grantham or Ms. Krueger if you have any questions.

Attention students and parents . . . the school year is ending soon.  Do you have enough money in your lunch account to last until the end of the year?  Do you have a negative balance that needs to be paid?  Now is the time to watch lunch account balances and pay off any past due amounts.  As of May 4, students will not be permitted to charge.  Unsure of your balance?  Ask one of the kitchen staff or check your account at MySchoolBucks.com. 

Leave your lunch at home Tuesday, May 5th and join us for a free lunch on the south patio!  The Arapahoe High School section at Cherry Hills Community Church will be providing free hot dogs, chips and drinks for all students and staff.  Save your money, grab your friends, and enjoy a fun lunch right here on campus!

Athletics

Congratulations to the girls fresh/soph soccer team for their 4-0 victory over the Coronado Junior Varsity team yesterday. Come out and cheer them on today as they take on the Monarch JV at 5:00 out on the North field.

Freshman baseball had a strong win in their game against Overland High School yesterday.  Come on out tomorrow afternoon to watch them play Cherry Creek High School on the JV baseball field.  Game starts at 4:30.

Come out and support the Warriors Girls Varsity soccer team tonight as they take on Overland at Overland High School at 4:30 p.m.  Hope to see there! Go Warriors!

Calling all Warrior lax fans...  tonight at LPS at 6:00 p.m. the boys Varsity lacrosse team takes on Mountain Vista for the last of the regular season games.  You fans made a HUGE difference last year against Vista when you cheered us through one of the biggest come-backs and victories of the year.  Let's do it again!   Come on out and make some noise!

The Spear will broadcast the last regular season boys lacrosse game today against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. The link to the Spear can be found on the Arapahoe homepage. Goooooo Warriors!

Your Varsity girls lacrosse team has another game today against Conifer High School. Please wish them luck in the hallways today, as they are going for another Win at 4:00 p.m. at Conifer High School! Go Girls Lax!

9 … 10 … who’s gonna win?  The answer will be revealed this afternoon at the Fresh/Soph championships for track and field.  Stutler Bowl track is where it’s at.  There’s loads of potential for our young Warrior team.  We know you’re the best – now go prove it to everyone else!

The PRIDE OF ARAPAHOE Marching Band and Color Guard is having a MANDATORY informational meeting for all interested students and one parent tonight from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the AHS Theatre!  We will be discussing the upcoming season, band camp dates, and you will hear from some of our current marching band students about their experiences in this performing group.  Come one, come all, and be a part of the musical and visual magic!  No experience???...we will teach you!  Be a part of a winning tradition!  See you there Warriors!  Ask Mr. Funk for more info.

JV girls soccer won 6-0 against Cherokee Trail yesterday.  Great Job girls!  ABK Warrior Invitational JV Tournament starts tonight at 5:00 at AHS.  Come out to cheer on the Warriors. 

The JV girls lacrosse Black team won their game yesterday against the Mullen Mustangs with a score of 11-8.  They are now 10-0.  Way to go!  Their next game is tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. against Columbine at Governor’s Ranch Elementary.  Come and cheer them on!

Come and watch the JV boys baseball team play Overland at 4:00 p.m. today here at AHS.  They are 9 and 3 so far in the season.  Great job boys!

Mr. Arapahoe Competition is tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $5 for a priceless night, some of our very own wonderful Senior boys will compete against one another with talent, some choreographed dancing, even some formal wear and the audience will vote for the gentleman that represents Arapahoe the best. Make sure to get your tickets today during lunch, and bring posters to support your friends!

Final score 17-1 AHS!  Tonight there is a very important game for the Varsity girls lacrosse team. Please come to LPS Stadium to cheer on your Lady Warriors, as they play Mullen, at 5:00 p.m. tonight! We really want as many fans in the stands as possible! Come support your girls Varsity team!

Way to go JV Gold girls lacrosse!  Our Warriors finished off the Denver East High School Angels in a 7-4 victory yesterday.  Keep it up JV Gold!  These Lady Warriors play again today against Columbine at Newton Middle School.  Come watch this spirited team at 5:00 p.m. today.

Come out and support the Warriors girls Varsity soccer team tonight in an important league game vs Cherokee Trail at Legacy Stadium at 7:30 p.m.  The JV also kick off tonight at 4:30 at Cherokee High School.  Hope to see there!

Shout out to the boys Varsity lacrosse team ... and fans ... who showed up last night for a solid win over Eaglecrest.  Final score 17-3.  Great collective team effort ... and fun celebration for the Seniors.  Go Warriors!

Come to Cherry Creek today to cheer on your Warrior Boys Swim and Dive team at 4:30.  Our Warriors watch the sun come up from the pool--come and cheer them on to show your support. Have goggles, will travel!

Congratulations to all students who competed at the FBLA State Conference last week in Vail.  At the conference, 17 students placed in the top five and five students qualified for the National Conference in Chicago this summer.  

Hey Senior Boys! Did you know it is required that you register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday? Once you register, you will be eligible for programs and benefits connected to registration, such as college loans and grants, government jobs, and job training. The Muses are here!  The Muses are here!  Volume 13 of the Muse is now available, in four convenient locations around the school.  You can pick one up in the Library, the DECA store, the Language Arts office, and the Art office.  This year's Muse is the best we've ever printed. It has poetry, photography, art and fiction, all done by your fellow students. Pick up a lasting memento of your time at Arapahoe, for only $10.

Auditions for daily announcement readers will be held today right after school in the Drama Room, E15.

You WILL NOT be able to pick-up your cap and gown if you have any outstanding fines.  Deadline date to return any library materials is Friday, May 8.  Deadline date to take care of any fines is Thursday, May 14.

Athletics

Diving Coach Jeff Smith's team captured the first ever state wide team diving championship at the Pine Creek Invitational this weekend.  With personal best performances from all of the divers: Alan LeBlang (2nd place), Caleb Ives (3rd place) and Anthony Belitz (4th place), they beat the second place Regis by a 2-1 margin!  Go Divers!

Attention All Lacrosse Fans:  Please congratulate your lady warriors as they cruised to another victory Friday night over Eaglecrest High School with a 20-1 Win!  Your Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team has a VERY BUSY schedule this week. They are ready to take on their next opponent, Overland High School, today at 4:30 pm at Overland. Please come to cheer them on for another W! They like the stands packed with as many fans as possible! 

Congratulations to the freshman baseball team for their 12-4 win over Eaglecrest this past Saturday.  They play Overland today at 4:30 on the AHS baseball field.  Come on out and cheer them on.

The winning streak continues for the JV girls lacrosse Black team.  They won their match against Chatfield on Friday with a score of 11-10.  The next home game is tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. against Mullen.  Go Warriors!

Tonight is Senior Night for the boys varsity lacrosse team!  Come on out to LPS and root on the guys as they take on Eaglecrest.  All of our SENIORS will be honored on the field at half time.

Attention all girls that are interested in playing softball in the fall. There will be a mandatory Booster Club Meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Room E9. We would like players and at least one parent to attend. See Coach Krueger if you have any questions.
