Hey Warriors! Do you want to have a say in who represents our school as Mr. Arapahoe then be sure to come and help select the senior boy that will be crowned Mr. Arapahoe! The show is in the AHS theatre tomorrow night, May 1st at 7 pm and costs $5. Hope to see you there!!

Prom 2018 is just a few days away, YAY! "Start spreading the news...we're selling tickets this week." Here is some very important information about picking up or purchasing your prom tickets. Tickets cost $45.00 and can be purchased this week during all lunch hours with cash or check. Students who purchased tickets already online must pick up their Prom tickets this week during lunch hours. You MUST show your Student ID to receive your tickets. Finally, Prom Royalty Voting will also take place when you pick up your tickets this week.

Attention Juniors And Seniors You are invited to After Prom on May 5th, from midnight to 4am. The theme is Hollywood: Lights, Camera, Arapahoe! Get ready to step into the spotlight and play games, win prizes, eat your favorite food, and watch a hypno-entertainment performance. Tickets cost $20 per person and will be on sale May 2, 3, and 4 in the cafeteria during both lunches with cash or check. Ticket price goes up at the door.

Seniors! Tomorrow is National Decision Day...be sure to put down a deposit at the school you have chosen to secure your spot. Also, be sure to complete each question of the Senior Exit Survey to reflect this decision by noon on Tuesday! Finally, this is the last week to turn in your scholarship award letters to the Post Grad Center. Thank you for helping us collect this information so we can properly honor you!

Also Seniors, The Herald staff is working on the final issue of the year as we speak. Please fill out your “Senior Bucket List" by this afternoon as they are due today. Forms are located in your Econ or Gov’t class or at the front desk in the main office.

Are you looking for a summer, part time or full time job? On Tuesday, May 8th Arapahoe High School will be hosting a Job Fair in the Auxiliary Gym from 3-4:30pm with over 25 employers that are interested in hiring you. For more information about the job fair, please see Mr. Sawyer in the Business Department office.

Leave your lunch at home tomorrow, May 1st, and join us for a free lunch on the south patio! The Arapahoe HS section at Cherry Hills Community Church will be providing free hot dogs, chips and drinks for all students and staff. Save your money, grab your friends, and enjoy a fun lunch right here on campus!

Last but certainly not least, Juniors and Seniors, prom is THIS Saturday, and with the excitement also comes an increase in reckless driving. The Stoplight Campaign - created by Arapahoe students - is aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence. Today is Red Out Day, which provides a great opportunity for ALL STUDENTS to show your support by pledging right now. Everyone - please get out your phones! Athletics

Your varsity warriors baseball team beat Mullen 3-2 on Saturday, come cheer them on tomorrow at home against Eaglecrest at 4:15pm.

All boys interested in trying out for summer basketball, tryouts are today after school, or, if you are in a spring sport you can tryout tomorrow morning at 6:00 am.

Congratulations to the JV GOLD AND BLACK tennis teams for a most amazing season. Both teams went undefeated all season finishing off the season beating Mullen and D'Evelyn and Denver East. Great great job ladies! Please remember to turn in your tennis bags after school today. Meet in west athletic entrance by 2:20.

The Warriors Boys Lacrosse team (ranked 5th) concludes their regular season schedule this Friday with a home game at LHS against arch-rival (and 2nd ranked) Mountain Vista at 7:30 pm. Come out and enjoy a Friday Night Lights experience as this team prepares for the playoffs. Go Warriors!!!

If you can help out a few hours for this very worthwhile event, please email Mrs. Leyden or stop by her office. The event is open to all lifeguards even if they don't attend Arapahoe. Tell your friends and sign up TODAY!

Prom Guest Approval forms are available in the Activities/Attendance office. Fully completed forms are due back to Mrs. Railey by 3 pm Monday, April 30th. Please note, you must include a photo ID of your guest with the form, no faxed forms will be accepted.

The Pride of Arapahoe’ Warrior Band invites you to our final concerts of the year this Saturday in our theater at 1pm and 3pm. Seniors will be featured, this is the one not to miss! The public is invited to our Silent Auction Benefit Saturday evening after the concerts at La Sandia. Details about the concerts and benefit can be found at arapahoeband.com

Congratulations to the vocal music students in the Choralettes, the Concert Choir, and the Arapahoe Singers, who traveled to Greeley on Wednesday, April 25 to participate in the CHSAA Music Festival. Each of the three ensembles earned consensus "Division I" or "Superior" ratings in all categories from all judges--the highest possible ratings. If you know a choir kid, congratulate them on this remarkable achievement.

Athletics

Come join the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team tonight at 5:30 pm at home as they celebrate their seniors and play Rock Canyon. They also have a game on Saturday at Overland at 4:30 pm, we’d love to see all our fans there!

The AHS boys swim and dive are hosting an event at the Varsity Inn all day tomorrow, please show your support by dining with them and a percentage of your bill with support the team!!

AHS girls golfers Courtney Packer and Christine Attai each shot 78 to lead the Warriors in the last Centennial League tournament. Ella Chism contributed to the team with an 84 and Sammy Packer had an 88.

Any hockey player or parent who would to like play or get more information about playing in the Heritage/LPS High School Hockey Program which is made up of students from Arapahoe, Littleton, Heritage and Options High Schools should attend the New Player Information Meeting. This meeting will introduce the coaches and explain what Heritage/LPS Hockey is all about. The meeting is Tuesday May 1st at 6:00 PM at Heritage High School in the 3rd Floor Lecture Hall.

Athletics 

The girls tennis team competed at the Grandview Invitational. The AHS tennis team took first place. Julia Rydel, Marisa Williams, and Kaitlyn Tyler placed 1st place at their positions. Josie Williams, Elle Palmer, Annie Betts, Bettina Meske, and Julia Vartuli placed 2nd. The team finishes their regular season schedule today with an away match against Mullen.

Congrats to the JV lacrosse team who braved the snow and rain to beat Regis 6-5 last night.

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse have a game and senior night at home tomorrow night against Rock Canyon starting at 5:30. and finally on Saturday they travel to Overland for a 4:30 away game.

AHS Girls Golf won the Spring Valley tournament yesterday. Ashleigh Bol was 3rd with an 85, Sloane Post was 4th with 86 and Ava Eberly finished 7th.

ABK Varsity Girls Soccer defeated Overland Tuesday with a score of 10-0. Goals were scored by Dani Babb, Kiah Benham, Cam MacMillan, Emma Purcell, Lauren Walter, Elsa Edmonds and Claire Moynihan. Way to go ABK! Come cheer the Lady Warriors on at their last regular season game next Tuesday as they face Regis at 5pm at Regis Jesuit High School.

The JV baseball team has an away game today at 4:15 at Cherokee Trail. Come cheer them on.

Your varsity baseball team will be traveling to Fort Collins this afternoon for a 4 pm game, and then they will play again at home tomorrow and celebrate their Seniors against Cherokee Trail at 11 AM, of course weather permitting. Also, the JV baseball team will take on Smoky Hill today at 4:15 at home so come on out and fill the bleachers. Go Warriors!

LPS/Heritage High School Hockey Parent & Player Information Meeting: Any hockey player or parent who would to like play or get more information about playing in the Heritage/LPS High School Hockey Program which is made up of students from Arapahoe, Littleton, Heritage and Options High Schools should attend the New Player Info Meeting. This meeting will introduce the coaches, who we are and what Heritage/LPS Hockey is all about. The meeting is Tues May 1st 6:00 PM at Heritage High School in the 3rd Floor Lecture Hall.

The girls Lacrosse team faces #1 ranked Cherry Creek - TONIGHT - at LPS Stadium. 7:30 PM. Come cheer these girls on - they are having a great season!!

Ella Chism shot an Even Par 71 to win the Centennial League tournament at Raccoon Creek yesterday. Other scores were: Sam Packer 80, Courtney Packer, 83, Sloane Post, 83 and Ava Eberly 87. AHS took 2nd place overall in the team event. We are now ranked 5th in the state in 5A.

The Sophomore baseball team will have a game today at Cherry Creek High School at 4:15 and another game on Saturday taking on Cherokee Trail at Cherokee Trail High School. Please come show some school spirit and support our Sophomore baseball team.

Calling all ABK Fans! Come out today to cheer on your Lady Warriors as they face Cherokee Trail! Varsity plays at 6 pm at Legacy Stadium and JV plays at 4:30 pm at Cherokee Trail High School! Let’s go Warriors!

The JV ABK Team also defeated Smoky Hill with a score of 10-0! Well done Warriors! We need our ABK fans to come out Thursday and cheer the Lady Warriors on as they face Cherokee Trail. The JV Lacrosse team beat Chaparral last night, 7-5. Please come cheer them on Thursday at Kent at 4:30 pm and Friday at Powell at 4:30pm.

Yesterday, the AHS Girls Golf varsity took 3rd place in the Cherry Creek tournament. Samantha Packer led the team with a 79. Christine Attai had an 80, Ella Chism, 83, Courtney Packer 86 and Sloane Post 89. WAY TO GO WARRIORS!!

Congratulations to the Winter Percussion Ensemble for their second place finish on Saturday at the RMPA State Championships in Colorado Springs. The Ensemble finished with a score of 89.825 earning them a silver medal.

We are the Champions! That's right, the JV Girls Tennis Team won the Heritage Tennis Invite this last Saturday. Not just one but seven doubles teams won it all. Congrats Ladies! 

The JV Lacrosse team celebrated a big win against Castleview on Saturday. They have a busy week with a home game against Chaparral today, a game at Kent on Thursday and then a game against Smoky Hill on Friday at Powell. 

Come out and watch the freshman baseball team play Mullen at home at 4:15 pm and enjoy a snack at the shack.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Orchestra for a very successful performance at the CHSAA Large Group Music Festival yesterday!!! The orchestra earned EXCELLENT ratings from all three judges for their performance and a near perfect SUPERIOR rating during their sight-reading evaluation. Way to go!

The Varsity Girls Soccer Team is on a roll and they are loving their supportive fans!!! They won their game yesterday against Cherry Creek with a final score of 5-0. Goals were scored by Kiah Benham (2), Dani Babb (2) and Cam MacMillan. Please come out and cheer them on next Tuesday as they battle Smoky Hill at 7:30pm at the LPS Stadium.

Hey Warriors, the JV baseball team is scheduled to play Eaglecrest today, weather permitting. If Mother Nature cooperates, come cheer on your fellow Warriors with a cup of hot chocolate from the Snack Shack. They got a nail-biter 9-8 win Wednesday against Grandview - fabulous team effort. 

The varsity tennis team defeated Cherokee Trail yesterday 6-1. Julia Vartuli had an impressive 6-1, 6-0 victory at 3 singles also, JV Gold and Black beat Cherokee Trail by a score of 13-0. Congrats to the girls tennis team! 

The girls lacrosse team will be playing Eaglecrest at 4pm at Newton Middle School, then again on Saturday at 11am at the LPS Stadium where they will play for the Three Sisters Trophy against Heritage/Littleton. GO WARRIORS!

AHS girls golf team took 3rd at the Centennial League tournament yesterday. Leading the way was Courtney Packer with an 83 and Christine Attai with an 85.

Both the varsity and JV Black tennis teams defeated Eaglecrest on Tuesday. Varsity won by a score of 7-0 and JV Black by a score of 13-0. The JV Gold tennis team invites all warrior fans to come watch some high quality tennis as we take on Valor on tonight. Come to the Holly tennis courts at 3:30 for the great event. Congratulations to the Warrior Winter Guard for placing 2nd at State this past Saturday. The guard had two powerful performances and will leave an emotional impact on all who witnessed their production of The Chair. Their final score was an impressive 88.24 points out of 100!! Way to go Guard!

Congrats to the girls tennis team. They defeated Smoky Hill by a score of 6-1. A 6-0, 6-1 victory by Bettina Meske and Julia Vartuli led the way. Come out and support the team next Tuesday at LifeTime as they play Eaglecrest. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girl's JV Soccer Team for their victory yesterday against Grandview with a score of 2-0. Goals were scored by Kyra Swafford and Campbell Hedgecock. ABK Girl's Varsity tied Grandview 0-0 in a double OT exciting match! Please come out this weekend to support your Lady Warriors. Today the Fresh/Soph Team plays Cherry Creek HS Royals at 4:30pm at Arapahoes North field. Tomorrow both the Varsity and JV Teams face Rangeview at 11am at Arapahoes South and North fields. Way to go ABK girls and good luck to all 3 teams this weekend!!!

This week, the Post Grad Center will host the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Metro State, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. Please note that the Metro State visit is for admitted seniors to get walked through the next steps. If you plan to attend Metro in the fall, be sure to attend this visit on Thursday! TRIBE, tomorrow, April 4 will be extended due to pre-registration for next week's state assessments: SAT, PSAT-10, and PSAT-9. Your attendance at TRIBE is mandatory in order to complete this registration. If you miss TRIBE, you will be required to make this registration up. Seniors! During TRIBE tomorrow, you will be completing your senior exit survey as well as reporting about scholarships and other college information. This information is crucial for Arapahoe, so please make every effort to attend. Please check the schedules posted around the building.

AHS girls golf took 2nd overall at the Heritage Eagle Bend tournament Monday. Ella Chism led AHS with a 77. Sloane Post shot an 84, Christine Attai 85 and Courtney Packer 86. Ella and Sloane had a combined 73 in the best ball part of the tournament.
