General Announcements

*Starting next Monday, the Class of 2023 will kick off the annual food drive to benefit Field Elementary. Please bring non-perishables for collection from Monday the 21st through Friday, November 1st and donate them in boxes near at all the entrances. Cash donations for the drive will be accepted at the school play on opening night and at the Homecoming football game as well. Bring your items next week!

*‘The Pride of Arapahoe’ Warrior Marching Band competed in the 5A south metro regional contest Tuesday night! Performing their 2019 show, ‘Exploring Solitude’ - our outstanding band earned a score of 77.80, their highest score of the season! Congratulations to the 71 Students who perform with the marching band and color guard. The band invites you to come see the show this Saturday at Littleton Public Schools stadium, as we host the Arapahoe Invitational Marching Competition.

*After the break, AHS will host visits from Cal Poly, Western Colorado University, William & Mary, Saint Louis University, Savannah College of Art & Design, and the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. Reserve your spot 24 hours prior to the visit and be sure to cancel your visit in Naviance if you can no longer attend.

*This coming Friday, Arapahoe Community College will host a Discover ACC Day at the Littleton Campus from 9:30-1:30pm.  Attendees will explore degrees, careers, and academic pathways. Please go the ACC website to RSVP for this event.

*Stop by the lost and found table in the cafeteria to claim your belongings. All items not claimed after today will be donated to a local charity.

*Juniors and Seniors - If you missed the 2020 Washington DC meeting and you are still interested in attending please see Ms. Winn in Social Studies to get more information and to pre-enroll.  

Athletics    

*The Arapahoe Boys Varsity Soccer team lost to Eaglecrest yesterday by a score of 2-1. JV was victorious by a score of 7-1.

*Our Varsity Field Hockey Warriors take the field today against Dakota Ridge at 4:30 PM at the Rooney Road Sports Complex in Golden. On Thursday, our Warriors face Denver East at Denver East High School -C Team at 4:00 PM, JV at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM. On Saturday our C Team plays Cherry Creek at Stutler Bowl at 9:30 AM. Come cheer on all the teams for their final regular season games and varsity as they battle for a playoff position!

*Your Lady Warriors Softball team competes at Regionals this Saturday. The games will be played at Clement Park (next to Columbine HS) at 10:00 AM and 12:15 PM and an if-necessary game at 2:30 PM.  

*Lady Water Warrior Divers, there will be a short mandatory meeting this Wednesday right after school at the pool regarding the upcoming season.  See you there!

*This coming Saturday, the Varsity Inn will be donating 20% of ALL food sales to your Arapahoe TOMS!  Come help us cheer on freshman and JV football in the morning, and then head across the street to the Varsity Inn for lunch or dinner after!  Thank you for supporting your TOMS! Go Warriors!!

*Beautiful people: Tomorrow is the PSAT.  If you haven't looked at your assigned classroom number, please do so! Lists are posted in the cafeteria, counseling office and library. Those of you taking the test, remember to be here by 9:10 AM, eat a healthy dinner tonight, get a good night's sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast tomorrow morning! You are going to do AWESOME!

*Computer Science Club meets today after school in room N1496 - the computer science room. Even if you have not come before, please join us to try out "Blast" an interesting game that runs on blue-tooth technology. See you there!

*Juniors and Seniors - If you missed the 2020 Washington DC meeting and you are still interested in attending please see Ms. Winn in Social Studies to get more information and to pre-enroll.  

*Under the Direction of Mr Shawn Funk, ‘The Pride of Arapahoe’ Warrior Marching Band will perform in 5A REGIONAL competition Tonight at 8:30 PM at Littleton Public Schools Stadium. With their 2019 show, “Exploring Solitude” - our outstanding marching band and color guard band hopes to qualify to compete in the state championship October 29th. Good luck to all our musicians and performers!

Athletics    

*In an exciting and amazing Warrior battle our Warrior Field Hockey Varsity Team defeated Palmer Ridge 1-0! JV also played an outstanding game ending with a 1-1 tie! 

*Please join us for Senior Night for the Arapahoe Boys Varsity Soccer Team starting at 3:30 PM at the Arapahoe Varsity soccer field. We will honor our nine seniors and their families prior to the final regular season home game against Eaglecrest. The JV team is also playing Eaglecrest on the north soccer field at 4:15 PM. We look forward to seeing you there – Go Warriors!

*The ABK Fresh/Soph soccer team won yesterday against Eaglecrest 10-0! It was their ninth shut out of the season. Amazingly the team has 77 goals for and only 5 goals against. The final game of the season is a home tomorrow against Cherokee Trail at 4:15 PM.

*Arapahoe will be playing their last home volleyball match of the regular season tonight! Tonight is Senior Night and we will be honoring our five seniors prior to the match. Come on out and support your Warrior Volleyball Teams! Sophomore team plays at 4:30 PM, JV at 5:00 PM, Freshman team at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 6:30.

*Attention all Gifted and Talented students and students with advanced learning plans: there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 22 from 7:45 AM - 8:15 AM in room E1287. During this meeting you will receive your annual goal update, learn about G/T programming, and best of all, get a free donut! We're looking forward to checking in with you for the year. See you then!

*Congratulations to the “Cars & History” class for organizing Arapahoe’s third annual fall charity car show this past Saturday. This was our best show yet with over 70 cars in attendance and the student organizers raised more than $1,100 for future car shows and Arapahoe’s Toys for Tots drive beginning in November! Way to go class and thank you to all the students and staff who attended the show.

*Those of you taking the PSAT on Wednesday, don't forget to be here by 9:10 AM.  Room assignments are now posted in the Cafeteria, Counseling Office and Library.

*Seniors! Do you have a November 1st college application deadline? If so, blue forms are due to Mrs. Arnold in the Main Office by the end of the day today!  

*Juniors and Seniors - If you missed the 2020 Washington DC meeting and you are still interested in attending please see Ms. Winn in Social Studies to get more information and to pre-enroll.  

*Have you lost a clothing item, sunglasses, a towel or a tie? Please check the lost and found table in the cafeteria to claim your belongings. All items not claimed after Wednesday will be donated to a local charity.

Athletics    

*Huge congratulations to the Varsity Boys Tennis Team! They brought home a 2nd place finish at regionals and 9 players are headed to state on Thursday! Good luck Warriors!

*Our Field Hockey Warriors were victorious over Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday! Varsity won 2-0 and JV won 1-0! Come out and cheer on your Warriors today at our AHS turf field for our last home game and our Senior Night! Our Warriors battle Palmer Ridge -Varsity plays at 4:45 PM and JV at 6:00 PM. 

*Congrats to the Varsity softball team for their big win against Heritage on Saturday. The Warriors beat Heritage 11 to 0. The Warriors’ outstanding performance included 3 homeruns and solid pitching, which lead the team to the shutout victory.  Your Warriors finished the regular season with 20 wins and 3 losses. The team will be competing at Regionals this Saturday. Good Luck Ladies!

*Friday, the Boys Varsity Soccer Team was victorious over Mullen High School 4-1. JV beat Mullen by a score of 2-0. Nice job Warriors! Make sure you come out to the varsity field tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 for Senior Night as we celebrate the ABK seniors before their last regular season home game!

*The ABK Fresh/Soph Soccer Team plays an away game at Eaglecrest today at 4:30 PM and a home game against Cherokee Trail on Wednesday, Oct 16, at 4:15 PM.  Support your tribe to reach double digit wins on the season!

*Warrior Cross Country ended their regular season with a great showing at the Centennial League Championship. The boys team finished 2nd with a 3rd place individual finisher! The girls team finished in 1st place with a 1st place individual runner! Five of our AHS runners received 1st team all-league honors! Good luck Warrior runners at the Regional meet this Thursday! 

*There will be a brief team meeting for all cross country runners after school today in W1887. Please bring a computer and any gear that you need to check back in.

*The latest edition of The Herald magazine came out today. Get your copy from your 2nd period teacher, or look for copies in the cafeteria newsstands and in the library.

*Junior and seniors!  On Tuesday, AHS will host the University of Denver and Stephen's College.  Sign up in Naviance 24 hours prior to the visit!  

*Classified Staff Appreciation Week is coming to an end, but it doesn't mean we are any less grateful for the behind the scenes work these individuals commit to AHS on a daily basis. Thank you for being awesome and we celebrate you each day! 

*Hey Warriors! We still have a few spots remaining in the DECA Dodgeball tournament. Get those registration packets turned in ASAP. You don't want to miss out on this fun event.

*In Speech and Debate news, the team is attending its first novice tournament of the season tomorrow, at Cherry Creek High School. Please wish a hearty 'Good luck!' to our Speech and Debate Team.

Athletics

*Your Football Warriors fought hard in a tough game and frigid temperatures against Cherry Creek. They lost 7-24 but be proud as they never gave up the fight. JV game is tomorrow at Stutler Bowl at 5:30 PM.

*Your Arapahoe Boys Varsity and JV Soccer teams travel to take on Mullen today at 4:30 for their rescheduled matches from yesterday.  Take the Friday afternoon trip to cheer them on!

*Our Field Hockey Warriors travel to Colorado Springs tomorrow to face Cheyenne Mountain. Varsity is at 11:00 AM and JV is at 12:30 PM. Sko Warriors!

*Here's a fun fact for classified staff appreciation week--our 4 campus supervisors have a combined police work history of over 100 years. They work hard to keep our campus safe, clean, and efficient. Thanks for your service wearing the many hats that you do. Warriors, finish up this week strong by thanking your campus supervisors here at AHS.
