Are you interested in spreading hope, help and strength throughout Arapahoe? The new program, Sources of Strength, is looking for students who would be interested in being a Peer Leader. We want representation from the entire student body, including all styles, interests, strengths, and personalities from all different types of social groups. To learn more about Sources of Strength and what being a peer leader means, bring your lunch and come to the forum today during your lunch or see Ms. Zimmerman in the counseling office!

Juniors and seniors!  On Monday, the Post Grad Center will host Belmont University, Oregon State University, Sarah Lawrence College, Iowa State University, the University of San Diego, San Diego State University, Western Washington University, the University of Iowa, the University of Redlands, Pepperdine University, the University of Puget Sound, Suffolk University, Villanova University, Bradley University, the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Wake Forest and the University of Rhode Island.  Be sure to sign up in Naviance and get your blue pass signed today!

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2017 trip to Washington D.C. is here again!  This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand.  If you are interested please see Ms Winn in the Social Studies Department to pre-register and receive other important information.  

Juniors (and interested sophomores) registration for PSAT is now open! Come to the Counseling Department and sign up with Mrs. Ives. Cost for PSAT is $20.  Registration is from now until Oct. 4th.   PSAT test will be happening Wednesday morning, Oct. 11th. We are encouraging every junior to take this test.  The PSAT is the only exam to qualify a student for National Merit Scholar Status, when taken during junior year.

Hey seniors: Check your LPS email account for a yearbook senior biography form sent on Sept. 19. Or go to the Journalism & Student Media website.
Please turn the form in by the extended deadline of Friday, Sept. 29 to the yearbook room, E-1288, or the front desk in the main office.
Also, don’t forget to turn in your yearbook photo by today. You can find info on the Journalism & Student Media website. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Anderson, the yearbook adviser.

Hey Warriors, You're Invited...To participate in the annual DECA Dodgeball Tournament. This year's tournament is on Wednesday, Oct. 25th. Registration for the event starts today. Teams must consist of 5 boys and 5 girls. Registration packets can be picked up today in the Business Office. Since we need parent signatures, completed registration packets will not be accepted until Monday morning. But remember it's first come, first serve and only the first 20 teams to register will be allowed to play in the tournament. Please see Ms. Krueger if you have any questions.

Attention Seniors: Your Senior Class Panoramic Picture will be taken on Thursday, September 28 at 7:50 a.m. in the gym.  Remember - this is the ONLY time a picture will be taken of your whole Senior class, so DON'T MISS OUT! You only have one chance to be a part of this special event, so BE THERE on Thursday, September 28 at 7:50 a.m.!

Attention!… Exciting news from student council! Nominations for Homecoming Royalty are now open, and they are open to you! You, the student body, have the power to nominate your fellow Warriors for Homecoming Royalty! A google form that was sent to your school email address. We will stop accepting nominations today at 3:00, so make sure to nominate TODAY! Each person will nominate a prince and princess from their class, and two seniors for homecoming king and queen. We will vote in TRIBE next Wednesday for the winners, and the 2017 royalty court will be announced at the Homecoming football game Friday, October 6th! We look forward to seeing YOUR nominations!

BOYS TENNIS!  Varsity had a 4-3 win against a tough Mullen team.   JV Gold totally defeated Mullen 13-0.  JV Black had a tough loss to Rock Canyon with several tight tie-breakers.   Come support your Warrior Boys Tennis at their last home match next Tuesday against rival Cherry Creek.

Girls' Field Hockey Varsity lost 3-0 against Liberty. Goal by Lizzie Pierpont.

Juniors and seniors!  Log in to Naviance view the 100 college visits @ AHS that will take place over the next two weeks.  On Thursday, the Post Grad Center will host Western State and Baylor University.   Remember, Naviance sign ups close 1 day in advance of the visit.

Students interested in studying in the UK !  STEM High School in Highlands Ranch is hosting a UK University College Fair on Thursday, September 21st from 6-8pm.  For details, check out the College Fairs page on the Post Grad Center website.

Yesterday, your Arapahoe Boys’ Varsity Soccer team defeated Chatfield by a score of 9-0. Goals were scored by Cameron Gail, Ben Davis, Zach Tripp, Matt Warden, Liam Anderson, and Nash Herman. Strong midfield play by Zach Westerman, Noah Carl, Graham Schultz, and Jacob Vogel aided the shutout efforts of Spencer Cobb and Riley Holub in goal. Way to go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Volleyball program for their sweep over Smoky Hill! All four levels got down to business and beat the Buffs in straight sets! Games will begin again next Tuesday...GO WARRIORS!


Congrats to the Varsity softball team for their exciting victory against Grandview yesterday. Your Lady Warriors were down 1 to 3 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th when Kayleigh Krueger hit a 2-RBI double to tie the game, followed by a 2-run walk off homerun by Katie Maney to secure the win. Awesome job ladies. Next up for the Warriors is Eaglecrest on Saturday.

Hey Warriors, are you good at  Game Design,  Web Design,  CO2 Dragsters, Rubberband Airplanes & Cars,  Digital Photography,  CAD,  Bridge Building,  Public Speaking and Debate,  Leadership, and more....then the TSA club is for YOU!  Did you miss the Informational TSA meeting last week?  No Worries, just come to the TSA meeting today at 2:30 in room E1287 to find out more about this exciting national organization. The Technology Student Association or "TSA"   meets every Tuesday after school from 2:30 - 3:00 in room 1287.  Hope to see you there.

Attention all girls interested in playing Lacrosse this spring. There will be an informational meeting TONIGHT, 9/19,  at 7 PM in the AHS Cafeteria.  We invite all players and parents to attend and learn about this amazing program!  We hope to see you there.

Attention Boys Basketball - Open gym this Thursday, 9-21 is cancelled.

Both Varsity and JV Boys’ Soccer play today at Chatfield High School. The Varsity game begins at 4 pm, and the JV match starts at 5:30.

Girls’ Field Hockey C Team lost to Denver East 0-3
Varsity lost a very tight game in overtime 1-2 with a goal by Meg Hansen.
JV beat Cheyenne Mt 1-0 with a goal by Maggie Cohen. Go Warriors!

Last week, the Boys Varsity Tennis Warriors had commanding wins.  They beat Smoky Hill 6-1 and Eaglecrest 7-0.   Last night, Boys Tennis swept Cherokee Trail, with wins for all three teams.  Varsity led with a 7-0 win, and strong singles matches by Tyler Landen, Jared Green, and Jay Kikkeri.  JV Gold was solid winning 10-1 and JV Black won 6-2.
The JV Black squad is away at Rock Canyon tonight.

Varsity Volleyball had a good showing against the Cherry Creek Bruins last night as they lost in 4 sets. Thank you to all the fans who came and cheered us on! Tonight, your Warrior Volleyball teams play at Smoky Hill...with Varsity taking the court at 6.45. GO WARRIORS!

They did it again!  For the 2nd year in a row the Boys’ Golf Team has won the Regional Tournament.  Tom Packer won Individual Honors with a one under par 71.  Alex Yano shot 75. Jay Yano had a 76 and Caleb Busta shot 81.  Congratulations Warrior Golfers. Take State.

On Saturday evening, your Arapahoe Boys’ Varsity Soccer team defeated rival Heritage by a score of 3-0. Goals were scored by Chris Grauberger, Ben Davis, and Adam Hangland. The shutout was led by the defensive work of Zander Hahn, Zach Tripp, Jay Wolf, and Goalie Spencer Cobb. Both JV and Fresh/Soph teams were victorious on Saturday as well. Way to go Warriors!

A big Congrats to the varsity softball team for their 6 to 5 win over Thomas Jefferson on Friday. TJ had a 10 and 0 record going into the game, but your Warriors handed TJ their first loss of the season. League play starts tomorrow for your Lady Warriors. Come down to deKoevand Park at 4 pm to watch the Warriors take on Grandview. Good Luck Ladies!
