In the spirit of the holiday season and to honor the memory of Claire Davis, wear PURPLE on December 13th for our annual Purple Out and an Ugly Holiday Sweater on December 14th for a little bit of Holiday fun. Also, be sure to stop by our amazing Take What you Need Wall in the South Hall sponsored by Sources of Strength to take what you need or what a friend needs.
*Congratulations to Helena LaBree for being selected to the 2019 Colorado All State Philharmonic Orchestra cello section!!!  She was selected out of hundreds of auditions and will represent Arapahoe at the Colorado All State Orchestra weekend at CSU in February.  Congratulations Helena!!!
*Winter break is right around the corner.  Have you lost a pair of keys, maybe a pair of glasses, your watch, water bottle, sweatshirt or even your shoes??? If so, please stop by the main office to claim your lost item.  Any remaining lost and found items will be donated prior to break.
*All students: please check your school email account for a survey for the yearbook, and another survey for The Herald newsmag. We appreciate your input.
*Hey TSA.... Please come to the next TSA meeting today.  This is an important meeting for all members as we will be doing committee work and working on your competitive events.  Reminder that your State TSA money & paperwork is due before the end of the semester! Don't miss out on this exciting conference!  See you there today!

*Girls Swim & Dive News: Last Saturday our Arapahoe Gold Team brought home a win while Arapahoe Black finished in 4th place out of 9 teams at the Arapahoe Relays.  Way to go! Also on Saturday, diving captains Franny Cable & Kirry Belitz completed their state qualifying requirements!
This afternoon at 5:00 our Dive & Varsity Swim teams compete at Arapahoe against Cherokee Trail.  Come out and cheer on your Lady Water Warriors!
On Friday & Saturday, our top Girls Swimmers and Divers will participate in the Colorado Coaches Invitational at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton.  Go Warriors!

*Come cheer on your Arapahoe Boys Basketball Warriors, all levels, tonight at Arapahoe against Legend!  Freshman & Sophomore levels play at 4 pm. Jv plays at 5:30 and our Varsity team at 7 pm. They love your support!  

*All girls who are interested in playing girls lacrosse: there is a parent/player informational meeting tonight in the AHS Forum. Doors open at 6:30. Meeting starts at 7:00. Come meet our new head coach and find out more about winter ball and the upcoming spring season.

*Important reminder to new NHS inductees...  For tonight's induction ceremony, please plan to arrive for our rehearsal around 5:45, so we can start our run-through promptly at 6:00.  Also, if you are at all concerned that Mr. Smith might pronounce your name incorrectly when he announces names during the ceremony, please either email him or see him in person, sometime today or immediately after school.

The application window to join the Student Council Class will be open from Dec. 4th through Dec. 18th. Applications can be picked up in the Activities office and on the Student Council website. If, in the future, you would want to be a class officer you would want to strongly consider applying to be an ambassador first. And, as always, for anyone who is interested in joining Student Council, no matter which grade level, is welcome. Meetings are in the Forum at 7:15 on Tuesday mornings.

*You submitted and the MUSE selected! This month's winner of a $10 gift card to Starbucks for submitting to the MUSE is August Malom. Please come to see Mr. Neenan in the Language Arts to collect your gift card. If you didn't win, keep those submissions coming. We'll select another lucky winner at the end of December. Thanks, and good luck!

*The 2018 TRIBE Door Decorating Contest was an amazing success!  We had 40 entries, and the competition was fierce. Thanks to all of the TRIBES for participating and the clerical staff for voting.

The votes have been tallied, and our winners are:

Come out and support your Varsity Cheerleading team this afternoon as they compete against over 40 Colorado teams for the State Championship! The Warriors take the floor at the Denver Coliseum today at 3:00pm. Go Arapahoe!

*Come cheer on your Boys Basketball Warriors as they work towards another win, tonight, at 6:30 pm at Bear Creek High School! They love your support!

*Join the Arapahoe Varsity Toms on Saturday December 8th for their 10:30 AM performance at the State Dance Competition at the Denver Coliseum. Arrive early to get a great seat! The Toms have been hard at work since last summer to prepare for this pinnacle event.   They greatly appreciate all the support and Warrior spirit. Go TOMS!

*Come and cheer on your Lady Water Warriors to Victory!  Saturday we host our Annual Arapahoe Relays! The day kicks off with Diving at 9:00 AM.  Swimming begins at Noon.

*Your LPS Hockey team will be playing their home opener this Saturday at South Suburban Ice Arena. The varsity team plays at 6:45 and JV at 8:45. Come out to cheer them on as they play Ralston Valley!

*Good morning, Warriors! Here are the results yesterday's Avalanche of Toys and Miracle Minute competitions! The generous spirit of Arapahoe was truly on display as a total of 350 toys and almost $3070 were donated! All in one day, one class period and one minute! Way to go Warriors! Remember, all toys and money donated goes directly to benefit our Toy Drive, Castro Elementary, and the Denver Indian Center.
And now, for the winners of the three class contests! First, the third period that brought in the most toys as a percentage of students in the class (and, actually, the most total toys, too), and winners of the $5 Chipotle gift cards for each student, was Ms. Smith’s class. The class collected 155 toys! Congrats to Ms. Smith’s class! Your gift cards will be delivered soon!
Next, the third period that brought in the most money (and, actually, the highest percentage per student, too), and winners of the class will also receive $5 Chipotle gift cards for each student, was Ms. Abner’s class with $265! Congratulations to Ms. Abner’s class!  Your gift cards will be delivered soon!
Lastly, the third period that had the highest overall participation in both money raised and toys collected was Ms. Comp's class with 30 toys and $96 are winners of a class doughnut party.   Congratulations to Ms. Comp's class! Your doughnut party will be tomorrow!
Remember, the real winners during our Toy Drive are the kids at Castro Elementary and the Denver Indian Center. The Toy Drive continues through this Monday, December 10th. Keep the donations coming! Thank you, Warriors, for your amazing generosity and support!

*Our JV Swimmers travel to Eaglecrest HS today for a meet at 5:00.  Our Lady Water Warriors will end the week on Saturday December 8 with the Annual Arapahoe Relays. Diving begins at 9:00 AM, Swimming begins at Noon.  Come out and cheer on the team on to Victory!

*Given this National Day of mourning for former President George H.W. Bush, we thought you would like to hear the connection that Arapahoe High School had with him.  President Bush came and spoke to the school on October 5, 1988, as then Vice President, under President Ronald Reagan. He signed his name in classroom W1529, stop by and see the photo of him at the school in the Main Office.
