General Announcements

Toys, Toys, Toys, we need toys!  From games to puzzles to trucks and balls we need all!  900 toys that's our goal -  Let's get on the ball and on a roll.   There's only 5 days left to reach our goal.  Let's see how many smiles we can make so bring in toys after the break!!

Seniors, this is your LAST CHANCE to place orders for Graduation announcements at Arapahoe. Herff Jones representatives will be here today in the cafeteria during lunches. They will be accepting your graduation announcement orders and answer any questions that you may have. Packets are still available in the Guidance Office.  Also, Senior Class rings will be delivered Friday in the cafeteria.

Attention Juniors and Seniors . . . the deadline to sign up for the National Business Honor Society is today.  Please stop by the Business Department to pick up an application.

Café specials:  Café Rio plates, bacon Swiss cheeseburger, chicken sandwich.  Lunch specials:  pizza, sandwiches, and salads. 

Athletics

Hey Warriors!  Basketball season kicks off on Monday, December 2nd with Heritage traveling to Arapahoe for our annual crosstown rivalry game.  Varsity girls play at 5:30 pm with the boys to follow at 7:00 pm.  Tickets will go on sale in the cafeteria Monday during lunches. Arapahoe students with a valid SBA pass will get in free to the game.  All other admission prices are $3 for students (K-12) and adult ticket prices will be $5.  Go Warriors!

Hey Warriors, come out and support the boys and girls basketball teams on Monday night, Dec. 2, as they take on the Heritage Eagles. There’s no better way to kick off the season than to beat Heritage. If you don’t want to fight the cold weather, you can watch the games on the Spear. Click on the Spear logo on the Arapahoe home page to get to the broadcast.

Attention AHS Baseball players and families.  Please don't forget to register for the 2014 Winter Workouts.  Go to www.arapahoebaseball.com and register today.

HO!  HO!  HO!  AHS Toys for Tots has a goal of 1,000 toys for Valverde Elementary and the Denver Indian Center. Did you realize that with Thanksgiving vacation next week, we only have 6 more days to bring in toys.   We now have about 100 toys in the building.  We need 900 more toys to meet our goal. We know Arapahoe can make it happen.

Hey TSA!  Don't forget about our next TSA meeting today at 2:25 in Room E6.  A reminder that your $25 Membership Dues are due.  The deadline to affiliate with the National Office is tomorrow Friday.  Be sure to get your dues in so you can become an official TSA member and be eligible to compete at the State TSA Conference in February.  Please see Mr. McMullen for questions

Attention artists and writers! The Muse literary and arts magazine needs YOUR submissions of art, poetry, and prose. To submit, visit the Muse page under the activities tab on the school website. And remember, we have a meeting TODAY after school in Room C17.

Good morning Warriors.  For your safety and for the overall security of Arapahoe High School, you are expected to leave school grounds as soon as possible at the end of the school day.  Unless you are here for a supervised Arapahoe event or activity, please arrange to leave campus by 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 2:30 p.m. on Friday.  Arrange for rides to come to the East end/”bubble”.  Thank you for helping to keep Arapahoe safe and secure.

The AHS Speech and Debate Team competed successfully at this past Saturday's Smoky Hill High School's Stampede Tournament. Fourteen members competed in a variety of events. Members that did especially well include:
·   Ethan Snow - second place, International Extemporaneous Speaking
·   Joe Redmond - fourth place, Poetry Interpretation
·   Ell Eshleman - semi-finalist, Dramatic Interpretation
·   Sanat Mehta - semi-finalist, Student Congress
Congratulations to these students and to all members of the team for competing and representing Arapahoe High School so well!
