General Announcements

The next round of club photos for the yearbook will start at 2:30 p.m on Thursday, February 4 on the theatre stage. The following clubs are scheduled for next Thursday -- Drama Club & Thespian Officers at 2:30, FCCLA & Culinary Club at 2:40, Key Club at 2:50, Mock Trial at 3:00, FBLA at 3:10, NBHS at 3:20, Sign Language Club at 3:30, Model UN at 3:40, and TSA Club at 3:50.

Hey Warriors! Next Thursday, February 4 marks the first annual LPS Unified Basketball Fundraiser! Come out to Sitting Eagle Gymnasium at 7 pm to cheer our Unified Athletes and partners to a victory! Go Warriors! Buy a t-shirt for only $5 at Lunch. We want to pack the gym and let Heritage and Littleton know who the true Warriors are.

Sophomores and Juniors:  Anyone interested in taking a Concurrent Enrollment class next fall at Arapahoe Community College should plan on attending a meeting next Tuesday, February 2nd in the Forum. This meeting will take place during both lunches, so feel free to bring your lunch with you.  Applications will be available at that time. The deadline to register for Concurrent Enrollment classes is February 20th. This is another great opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. Please see your counselor for more information. 


Athletics

Your JV Lady Hoops defeated Cherokee Trail Wednesday night, 54-38 and the C team beat Cherokee trail 35-27. Please come out and give your support to your Varsity Lady Hoops as they take on Grandview tonight at 7pm.

Come cheer on your boys’ basketball team at their home game tonight! We are neck in neck in our conference, which is the hardest conference in the state.  Every game counts and we need our great fans there in force. Go Warriors!

Don’t forget! Arapahoe High School will be holding a National Signing Day ceremony next Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:05 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Come support your fellow Warriors!

Arapahoe is excited to offer girls field hockey as a CHSAA sanctioned sport starting the Fall 2016 season.  There will be a parent/player information meeting held in the Forum on Monday, February 1st at 6:00 p.m.  Hope to see you there!

Guys – the boys swim and dive season is right around the corner!!  Do you swim or dive in the summer?  Have you thought swimming or diving might be fun?  Plan to come to the kick off meeting on Tuesday, February 2, 5:30 pm in the AHS Library, enter through the North entrance. Meet other swimmers, the coaches, the other parents.  Make a splash and learn about a great team at AHS.  Also, the season registration is now open at www.ahsboysswimdive.com – so if you know you’re going to join the team, please register this week.

All girls interested in playing for AHS girls golf need to attend an organizational meeting in Room E9 on Monday, Feb 1.  At least one parent should attend.

Conratulations to the four Arapahoe artists who will be represented at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of Colorado: Cheyenne Cooper, Samantha Mier y Teran, Breanda Petsch, and Leah Tschumper. If you see these students in the hall, please congratulate them on this great achievement. Great job Warriors!

There is an FBLA all chapter meeting today after school in room E9. Please come get important information about the District Conference, the FBLA Study Session and our community service activity.

Sophomores and Juniors:  Anyone interested in taking a Concurrent Enrollment class next fall at Arapahoe Community College should plan on attending a meeting next Tuesday, February 2nd in the Forum. This meeting will take place during both lunches, so feel free to bring your lunch with you.  Applications will be available at that time. The deadline to register for Concurrent Enrollment classes is February 20th. This is another great opportunity to earn both high school and college credit. Please see your counselor for more information.

Hello Key Clubbers! Welcome back to a new semester of Key Club. During the last half of the year we are planning many new events and fun parties for us all. Please do not forget to join us at our weekly meeting TODAY after school. We will be welcoming a guest speaker, and posting sign ups for future events. Please join us for an exciting kick start of second semester. Hope to see you there!

The Unified Warriors have a game tonight at 5:15 at Englewood's Finest High School. Come watch Porter and Jaden bring on a victory for our Arapahoe Warriors.

Hello Key Clubbers! Welcome back to a new semester of Key Club. During the last half of the year we are planning many new events and fun parties for us all. Congratulations to our newly appointed Freshmen Class Officers. The Class of 2019 officers are: Janie Egan, Olivia Golden, Jayson Glidden, and Emmy Hawkins. All Freshmen are encouraged to attend Student Council meetings and get as involved as you can. We meet on most Thursday mornings in room C21 at 7am.

It's almost showtime! "Almost, Maine" is tonight at 7 PM and tickets are free! Come and support the best actors in school as their characters discover love and loss. This is the only performance, so don't miss out on this romantic voyage of self-discovery.

Are you tired of the cold? Warm yourself up with a hot date and a hot cup of cocoa! Come see "Almost, Maine" performed by Arapahoe Company tomorrow, January 22nd at 7 PM! Tickets are free!


Athletics

The Arapahoe Girls Varsity Basketball Team came away last night with a sound win over Smoky Hill 60-28! The top scorer was Eliana McClaire, followed up by Jordyn Vega & Maddie Matthews. Eliana Kearby lead Rebounds & Jordyn Vega lead assists with Maddie Matthews leading steals!  Great job Lady Warriors!  That puts them in a 5 game winning streak heading into tomorrow night’s game against Cherry Creek here at Arapahoe at 7pm!  Students come out & support!

Attention all boys interested in being part of the swimming and diving team! There is a meeting today after school in the forum. See you there!

NHS Members! Our first meeting of the semester is today at 2:25pm in the forum. See you there!

When Olaf ditched his date to see "Almost, Maine", Elsa gave him the cold shoulder! Is one cheesy pun not enough for you? Come see "Almost, Maine" performed by Arapahoe Company. The show will be this Friday at 7 PM and tickets are absolutely free!

Attention all artists and writers: the MUSE is still looking for entries! We have extended our final deadline to this Friday. Submit now and have your name entered into a drawing for a free gift card.

Come cheer on your Unified team tonight at Chatfield HS starting at 5:30 pm. Watch Maddie and Logan bring home a victory for AHS. Go Unified Warriors!


Athletics

Your Arapahoe Lady Hoops earned the win against Overland Friday night 56-43! Top scorers were Jordyn Vega, Amanda Brenner & Macy Ziegler. Rebounds led by Katie Crowley & Amanda Brenner. Top Assists were Katie Crowley & Macy Ziegler. Monday night they had another Win against Palmer 53-40. Top scorers were Macy Ziegler & Jordyn Vega. Top Rebounder Amanda Brenner. That's a four game winning streak, keep it up Ladies!! Our JV girls basketball team soundly defeated Overland as well with a score of 54-12, and now are 8 and 1 for the season. Please come out and support your Lady Warriors tonight as they take on Smoky Hill at 7pm here at Arapahoe and Friday night when they take on Cherry Creek here at Arapahoe at 7pm! JV team plays at 5:30 and C team plays at 4.

The AHS Varsity and JV swimming and diving teams beat Smoky Hill last night! Teams were lead by Junior Sarah Syaip and Freshman Gabreece VanAnn who made state last night. Great job lady water warriors!

Tuesday, Feb. 25:30-7:30 pm…AHS Library.  Parents and Guys:  Get ready to dive into the Boys Swim and Dive Kick Off meeting.  You may want to write this down with a waterproof pen.  See you then!

Please mark your calendars for an information meeting about tennis tryouts and the AHS Girls’ Tennis season.  Any girls interested in trying out for the tennis team should attend with their parents.  The meeting will be in The Forum on Tuesday, January 19 at 6:00pm.  Tennis tryouts will start in February, with more details available soon.  A second meeting will occur in March for team registration, uniform purchases, etc.
