General Announcements

*Seniors!  Do you have a November 15th college application deadline? The College Application Tracking Form will be due on November 2nd by 3:45pm for all schools with a November 15th application deadline. See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Conn in Post Secondary if you have questions regarding the tracking form.


*Calling all lovers of Poetry & Performance! The annual LPS Poetry Slam takes place on Tuesday, November 8th. Sign-up to read or come and support the great and brave works of high school students from across LPS. See your English teacher or Mr. Kuhlmann for more details. Hope to see you there.  It's always an amazing night!

*The first edition of The Herald magazine is out.  Copies of The Herald are available in the library and in the Journalism room E1288.


*Warriors - we are in the final week of our Annual Food Drive for East Elementary.  On Thursday, November 3rd in TRIBE, we will conduct a money collection to donate to the food pantry.  On Friday, November 4th will have our last push for non-perishables items.  The TRIBE classes that bring in the most food or cash donations by Friday will receive donuts on the December 1st community TRIBE.  This is an excellent opportunity to show our Arapahoe pride for our community and to help those in need.  On November 5th, anyone can drop off donations in the south circle drive from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.  

 

*Butter Braids for Band - support the AHS instrumental music programs and enjoy some delicious Butter Braids, Gluten-Free Cookie Dough or coffee in K-Cup packages. Order by November 4th. Pick up will be November 12th, from 1:00-4:00, at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit. Order online at:

Athletics

*Congratulations to our Warrior Varsity Field Hockey team as they beat Cherry Creek 2-1 in a thrilling state quarterfinal game last Friday! We need all Warriors to cheer them on in the semi-final game tomorrow at Stutler Bowl as they battle against Colorado Academy! 

*Congratulations to your JV and Varsity Cheerleading teams.  This weekend at Regionals, the Varsity team placed 3rd in traditional routine and came home with a 1st place win for Gameday routine.  JV took home 5th place in traditional routine and 2nd place in Gameday routine. Congratulations to your Varsity Regional Champs! Come out this Wednesday, November 2 to support both teams at their League competition at Eaglecrest High School starting at 6:00pm.

*Hey Warriors, Join our AHS LINK Crew at The Stride this Sunday, October 30th at the Littleton Museum. This fun, fall family tradition includes a 5K, 10K, Kids Fun Run and Wellness Expo raises money to support health and wellness at all LPS schools. 

 *Warriors - on Monday, October 31st students are welcome and encouraged to wear costumes to AHS for Halloween. Please do not wear full face coverings, bring fake weapons, and do not dress in a way that is explicitly violent. The dress code still applies. At both lunches on Halloween, Student Council will host a costume contest in the cafeteria! Individual and group costumes are welcome. Students: stop by the cafeteria on Halloween to participate or just vote for your favorite costumes and win fun prizes. See you all there!

JV will compete at 9:00am and 10:20am, and Varsity will compete at 11:20am and 12:00pm! We look forward to seeing you there! 

*Attention all Girls planning to play Basketball for AHS this winter - please plan to attend our Preseason Camp next week, Monday through Friday and the following week November 7th - 12th. All workouts will be at AHS. Come join one of the most successful basketball programs in the city and the state. See you on Monday.

*TODAY, Arapahoe travels to Cherry Creek for the quarterfinals of FIELD HOCKEY at 4pm at The Stutler Bowl Stadium. Tickets are $8 for adults & $5 for students & Seniors (60+). Passes will not be accepted. TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ONLINE ONLY! Here is the link to buy your tickets.

*All JUNIOR AND SENIOR student-athletes interested in competing in athletics at the college level are invited to attend a free NCAA Orientation taking place on TODAY during both lunches in the Forum.  Please stop by the Athletic Office or Counseling Department and sign up in advance to attend this orientation.

*Littleton Public School DRIVERS EDUCATION - Earn high school graduation credit this fall or next spring by taking driver education through LPS. Go to the LPS Drivers Education website to check out dates and times.  Classes are filling up fast. Look for an amazing scholarship opportunity through Honda.


Athletics

*Come cheer on the ABK Boys Varsity team at their first playoff game TONIGHT at LPS stadium against Rocky Mountain at 6pm!

*Attention all Girls planning to play Basketball for AHS this winter!  We have a Preseason Camp TONIGHT 6:00pm-8:00pm in the main gym.  Preseason Camp will continue the following 2 weeks.  All workouts will be at AHS. Times are still to be determined. Come join one of the most successful basketball programs in the city and state!

*Attention: the AHS Freshman Student Council is collecting food for the Annual 

Food Drive for East Elementary. Please bring non-perishable food items to the various boxes located around the school. This is an excellent opportunity to show our Arapahoe pride for our community and to help those in need. The Food Drive runs through November 4th. 


*Coding Club will meet after school in Ms. Bownds room. We will take our picture for the yearbook at the start of the meeting.

*Warriors, there is a free Alive@25 class tomorrow, October 26th from 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. If you are voluntarily taking the class, the Sheriff's Office pays your $79 fee.  If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the class. Some insurance companies give a discount on rates for taking the class. Register online at www.aliveat25.us  and use the password  ARAPAHOE.  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

 

Athletics

*A big congratulations to ABK Boys Varsity for winning their Centennial League conference! They will play their first playoff game this Wednesday at 6pm at LPS stadium against Rocky Mountain.  Please come out and cheer on ABK!

*Congrats to the Varsity Volleyball team for winning the Dakota Ridge Invitational last weekend!  This Thursday, the Warriors will play their final home game of the season.  Please come out and join us for Senior Night at 6:30pm to celebrate our five amazing ladies.

*Attention Arapahoe students: We are hosting the annual East Elementary Food Drive.  The drive will run from Oct 24th through Nov 4th. Look for drop-off boxes throughout the school. This is a great opportunity to support one of our neighborhood schools and show our Arapahoe pride!


*Warriors - the EPIC Campus is holding the first Pathway-Specific Information Night on TONIGHT and will spotlight the Natural Resources Pathway.  Are you interested in the great outdoors?  Could you see yourself working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife? Are you interested in plant science, horticulture, or landscaping? Have you ever thought about where water comes from and how it is treated? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us at the Natural Resources Information meeting to learn more about this exciting pathway which will be available to students at the EPIC Campus.  See our announcement for the link to RSVP.

*Want to know more about paying for college? Come learn all about filling out FAFSA, what kind of aid is available, who should apply, and more, this Wednesday, October 26th, at 6pm in the AHS Theater!

*Seniors looking for college scholarships: If Arapahoe was overrun with zombies, how would you escape? Where would you hide, and what are the top five things you’d bring to stay alive? *Attention Arapahoe students: We are hosting the annual East Elementary Food Drive.  The drive will run from Oct 24th through Nov 4th. Be on the lookout for more information regarding food drop-off. This is a great opportunity to support one of our neighborhood schools and show our Arapahoe pride!


*Lost & Found: If you are missing a water bottle, string bag, shoes or shirt, come check the Lost and Found in the Front Office.  If you are missing a phone, keys, wallet, jewelry or air pods, come to the Attendance Office.  


*Take advantage of Free Application Days this week, October 18th-20th, and apply to any college in Colorado FOR FREE! See instructions in your weekly message from the Post-Secondary Center, in your Tribe Google Classroom, or by 

scanning the QR codes posted around the building.

*Our Field Hockey Varsity Warriors defeated Liberty last night 4-3 and our 12 seniors were celebrated. JV tied 0-0 and has another game tonight at St. Mary's at 5:30pm. Varsity will be playing in the first round of the state playoffs next week! 

*Join us for our last fundraiser of the season for ABK Warriors TODAY from 5pm - 8pm at the ASPEN GROVE Chick-fil-A.  Make sure to mention AHS Soccer when ordering.
