General Announcements
*Warriors: Please remember that on all virtual days you will need to log in to Infinite Campus to take your own attendance--your teachers do not take attendance for you on any virtual day including Wednesdays. It is crucial for your attendance record that you take attendance accurately and timely. With questions, please come to the attendance window in the main office.
*Seniors! Please join the Senior Post Grad Google Classroom. Please see the email from August 26th for the code to join.
*Seniors: there will be a virtual live College Application Boot Camp starting this Wednesday, September 2nd from 8:30 - 9:15 AM. Steps to prepare prior to the first session AND the link to join the meeting are in the Senior Post Grad Google Classroom. This Boot Camp series will be held each Wednesday in September at the same time. In exchange for one hour of sleep, students will get detailed instructions to help manage the sometimes complex process of applying to college. We will cover processes specific to AHS, Naviance tasks, and each section of the Common Applications. Hope to “see” you there!
*Mark your calendars! Group A (BLACK Group) -Due to school holidays/no student days on Monday, September 7, 2020 and Monday, October 19, 2020 your in-person learning days will be on Wednesday, September 9 and Wednesday, October 21.
*Student Reminders:
Please remember your self health screening (including your temperature) each day before you come to school. You will be able to enter the building more quickly.
Please remember to always wear your Arapahoe Student ID on your lanyard. You can change out your lanyard but it has to be a predominately BLACK color if you attend in person on Mondays and Thursdays or predominately GOLD color if you attend in person on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Once you enter the building, remember to follow the one-way traffic patterns. We want to keep face-to-face crossing to a minimum wherever possible. Designated building entrances are the “Bubble” (East side main entrance) and the Forum (North side entrance from the west parking lot near the track and baseball field).
Virtual Days -
On Wednesdays - EVERYONE should be prepared to log into a Google Hangout with each of your teachers throughout the day. Your teachers will be providing the link to the Hangout.
On your asynchronous days GOLD group (Mondays and Thursdays) and BLACK group (Tuesdays and Fridays), please remember to check your teachers’ websites, your Google Classrooms, and your LPS email for assignments to be done for each of your classes.
*Attendance Reminders:
Attendance on the in-person days will be recorded by the teacher via the Infinite Campus Staff portal (no change--this is how it’s been done in years past).
Attendance on the remote/virtual school days will be recorded by the student via the Infinite Campus Student Portal. Please see the links below for how a student can do this. The attendance window for the day will be open from 8:00 am through 4:00 pm. Students must take their own attendance during that time or they will be marked “Unexcused Absent.”

Parent: Recording an Absence on In-Person & Virtual Days:
Call the school’s attendance line (303-347-6030) to leave a clear and concise message on the AHS attendance line to excuse an absence. You may call this line 24/7.
Follow the attendance line instructions by listening to the pre-recorded voicemail.
All parents must also complete the Attendance Form, located on the Arapahoe website (https://littletonpublicschools.net/schools/arapahoe-high-school/contact-ahs)
Parents/Guardians are the only members of the family who may excuse an absence. Per AHS Policy, absences may only be excused within 24 hours after the absence. Please call as soon as you are aware that he/she will be absent from school.
Leave your message with the following information:
Student’s full name, spelling out the last name
Date of absence(s)
Specific reason for absence (“personal” is not specific enough per LPS/AHS policy).

YOU MUST ALSO FILL OUT THE FORM ON THE AHS WEBSITE ABOUT YOUR STUDENT’S ILLNESS. IF YOU DO NOT FILL OUT THIS FORM, YOU WILL BE CONTACTED BY AHS BEFORE THE ABSENCE CAN BE EXCUSED.
*Back to School Week will be celebrated Monday, August 31st - Friday, September 4th. All presentations and information will be virtual and asynchronous.
*Sign up for the National Business Honor Society!
The National Business Honor Society allows students to become nationally recognized as exceptional business scholars. Becoming a member can enhance students’ college, scholarship, and employment applications. In order to be a member of NBHS, you must take 3 business classes; have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in your business courses. Here is the National Business Honor Society Application Form. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, October 2nd.
*Mark your calendar! Photo retakes are scheduled for Thursday, October 8 (Black Group (A-K)) and Friday, October 9 (Gold Group B (L-Z)) from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
