General Announcements

*Seniors who are looking for college scholarships: Do you consider yourself to be an inspiring, charismatic leader on and off the field? Consider applying for the Footlocker Scholar Athletes Program by December 17th for a shot at one of the twenty -  $20,000 scholarships!  See Mrs. Conn if you have questions. 

*Seniors - Do you have an early January college application deadline?  The College Application Tracking Form will be due on December 3rd by 3:45 pm for all schools with an early January application deadline.  See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Conn in Post Secondary if you have questions regarding the tracking form.

 

*Rock Canyon HS will be hosting an Open House for the Fire Science, EMT, and Law programs offered through Littleton's Career and Tech Ed program. If you are interested, please plan to attend, Nov. 30th, 6:00 p.m. at RCHS. No RSVP needed.

 

*Be a part of the 20th Annual Warrior Toy Drive! We are so honored to be giving to LPS's very own East Elementary and the Denver Indian Center 1000 gifts collected by our staff, students, and community!  

• The Annual Miracle Minute Avalanche of Toys will be happening in Community TRIBE, Tuesday, November 30th.  We encourage each TRIBE class to begin the amassing of toys and money!  

• The TRIBE class that raises the most toys and the class that raises the most $$ will each receive a prize!  Students can begin bringing in toys and money now!  

• Toy donations are for girls and boys ages 5-12, ranging in price from $10-20. Please do not donate weapons or toys that require batteries. We hope you will consider giving to this wonderful cause. If you would like to donate a monetary contribution we will do the shopping for you and provide school supplies to all the classrooms too. 

 

Athletics

*Come join the Arapahoe Boys Swim & Dive team and participate in a sport that's fun, rewarding and includes both individual and team events. *Are you traveling for the holiday?  Go old school, save your phone battery and check out a Playaway.  Playaways are audio books, narrated by famous actors, housed in a small handheld device that runs on a AAA battery.  The library has current and classic titles as well as required reading.  Stop in and check one out before you leave for break.

 

*Don’t FORGET to check out the ‘Lost & Found’ table in the cafeteria this week if you’re missing a water bottle,  jacket, sweatshirt, shirt, yoga mat, shoes...  

 

*Rock Canyon HS will be hosting an Open House for the Fire Science, EMT, and Law programs offered through Littleton's Career and Tech Ed program. If you are interested, please plan to attend on November 30th, 6:00 p.m. at RCHS. No RSVP needed.

*Hey Warriors, our football team will be playing in the semi-finals this Saturday, November 20th against Legend.  Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Echo Park.  Tickets can be purchased online at GoFan or at the ticket booth.  This is a playoff game so no Athletic Passes will be accepted. Prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students.  Gates will open at 12:00 p.m.   Check out the AHS blog or Arapahoe Athletic twitter account for more information.  Go Warriors!

• Teams can enter the stadium at 11:00 AM

• Gates will open at 12:00 PM

• Kick off at 1:00 PM

• Arapahoe fans will be on the away side of Echo Park (west side)

• No re-entry once you enter the game 

• Gates will close at halftime

• No passes accepted

• No bags allowed into the stadium

• All High School students must have their student ID with them to enter the stadium

• Park in the north lower lot of the stadium. If the lot is full, use the upper lot on the south end of the field.  You will have to walk around the southside of the stadium to the visitor side once you enter.

*Attention all FBLA Members, there will be a meeting TODAY after school in the forum.  You can bring new socks, deodorant, toothbrushes and combs to earn up to 5 lettering points for our community service project.  This meeting is the last opportunity for you to sign up for FBLA competitions.

*The AHS Cheerleaders are in the middle of their competition season. The have competed at the Centennial Leagues, Howl-at-the-Moon, Southern Colorado Regionals and UCA Regionals. Varsity placed 3^rd in the Centennial Leagues and received the Best Tumbling Award at the Howl-at-the Moon competition. At UCA Regionals, varsity competed in both the Gameday Division and the Traditional Division. JV won their division at the Southern Colorado Regionals and placed 2^nd at the UCA Regionals. Varsity State is coming up December 9-11 and JV State is on January 22^nd!

*Arapahoe's Black Student Alliance club is hosting their first guest speaker in the forum after school TODAY at 3:45. His name is Abron Arrington, a black man who wrongly served 30 years in prison. He will share his first hand experience with the criminal justice system. Hope to see you there!
