General Announcements

This Friday, November 11, is Veterans’ Day.  In honor of the men and women who served and are currently serving in the US Armed Forces, Arapahoe will be recognizing their commitment and bravery for the next five days. This week, please stop by the Military Wall of Honor and add the names of your family members who have served in the armed forces on the Military Heritage board designed by the Art Department, located by the Security Office in the cafeteria.  If you have time on Friday during an off period, come to the Forum and listen to veterans speak about their experiences.

YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU BETTER NOT CRY, YOU BETTER NOT POUT, I’M TELLING YOU WHY…SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN.  Yes…Santa is coming to bring a new toy for each boy and girl at Garden Place Academy and the Denver Indian Health and Family Services Center.  Today is the kickoff for the 15th Annual AHS Toys for Tots.  Help us make a child’s dream come true.  Join us by bringing a NEW toy to the Attendance Office.  Our goal is 1000 NEW toys valued between $10-20/each. Please, no weapons or toys that require batteries!
Let’s make it a great holiday for the kids!  We know Arapahoe can make it happen!  Let’s make this a special holiday for the kids.

 On Tuesday, the Post Grad Center will host Gonzaga University.  Please log in to Naviance to sign up.  Congratulations to Maggie Coan, winner of the $10 gift card drawing for attending her sophomore post grad visit as scheduled.  The next winner will be drawn on December 2nd.

It's Winter Guard Time!  If any Warriors are interested in being a member of the award winning Arapahoe Winter Guard, please attend our informational meeting TODAY, November 7th at 7:00 PM in the Band Room.  If you cannot attend the meeting but would still like to learn more about the group or tryout, please let Mr. Funk, our band director know!  Happy Spinning and Dancing!



 Athletics

Anyone interested in being a part of the 2017 Arapahoe Warrior track and field team should attend an informational meeting Tuesday at 2:30 in Room W-1529. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season as well as winter workouts and the indoor meet schedule. Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are currently in a Fall sport and unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann sometime before the end of the week.

Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball Team on their Victories this weekend! Arapahoe beat Vista Ridge in 3 sets and Ft. Collins in 4 sets to become Region 10 Champions! The Warriors will now head to the State Tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Coliseum. Great job Varsity! GO WARRIORS!

There will be a mandatory Winter Sports Player and Parent Athletic Night meeting this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the theater.  Information regarding the upcoming season will be presented by Mr. McCabe.

Pink Cards for Winter Sports will be distributed at lunch today in the cafeteria.  Please remember you must register online and have a current physical on file with the Athletic Office before you can receive a pink card.  The first day of official winter practice is on Friday, November 11th.  Go Warriors!

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team battled hard on Saturday, but dropped a close contest to Fossil Ridge, 4-3. Thanks to the team for a great season, and a special thanks to all of you who came out to support the team this fall!  

The swim waiver is full.  You can email Mrs. Leyden and get on the waiting list.  The next swim  waiver will be in March 2017.
