General Announcements

*Do you have a sibling in preschool or kindergarten who has a big imagination? Do they love Dr. Seuss or other fun fictional characters? If so, please have them join us in the Arapahoe Theater on Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 PM for Tea with Seuss. Your sibling will love sharing snacks, stories, and songs with the fun characters from the musical Seussical, based on all of their favorite Dr. Seuss books! Make sure they don’t miss out on this great, free event! See Mr. Brooks in the theater with any questions, hope to see you there!   

*Do you like spikeball?  Enjoy playing cornhole? Then get a friend and sign up to play in the 1st annual FBLA Backyard Games Tournament! The Backyard Games will be held in the main and auxiliary gyms on April 1st at 6:00 PM. Teams of two can pick up a registration packet for the tournament in the Business Department starting at 8:00 AM this Thursday. Packets will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to come compete in this fun new event! 

*Hey Senior Boys! Do you want to be this year’s Mr. Arapahoe? Do you think you could represent a true Warrior? Apply to be Mr. Arapahoe with an application in the activities office or the math office, or use one of the QR codes on the posters posted around the school to apply online.

*ATTENTION ALL ARAPAHOE ARTISTS! Art Attack is Back! The 17th Annual Art Attack is underway and the art department is now collecting pieces for the show.  If you are interested in entering please swing by the art office and pick up your entry forms. We will be collecting art work now through Friday, March 20th so don’t wait.  For more information or answers to any questions please see Mrs. Hawthorne, Mrs. Mishoe, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.

*Lady Warriors who applied to be involved in the powderpuff football game last fall: Be on the lookout for a new form for spring powderpuff which will take place during Warrior Week on April 4th. Turn in your form by March 9th to the Activities Office. See Mrs. Abner if you have any questions.  

*Attention seniors who have taken a Personal Finance class.  Metrum Credit Union is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to a deserving Arapahoe High School student.  Scholarship applications are due April 1st. Come to the Business Department office to pick up an application!

*Seniors! Would you like to enter the workforce after graduation with specific skills training?  Or would you like to apply to a community college for a short term certificate program or associate’s degree?  Do you want to apply to a 4-year college, but just haven’t done so yet? Be sure to register to come to Application Day, one week from this  Friday to apply for FREE and with support.  See the Post Grad website, your counselor, or Mrs. Hall for details.

*Seniors admitted to the Colorado School of Mines!  A representative will be here on Thursday to talk with you about what to do next if you enroll at Mines.  Be sure to sign up in Naviance or in the Counseling Office. 

*Deputies Englert and Tipton want to remind everyone to make sure to obey the crosswalk signal when crossing University Blvd. and Dry Creek Rd. In Centennial it is a $100.00 fine. More students have been observed crossing at inappropriate and unsafe times. Make sure you are only crossing the street at the appropriate time when the little white dude is flashing.  

Athletics    

*The ABK Girls soccer team tryouts are this week through Saturday, March 7, at a minimum, with JV and Varsity pool players playing in a scrimmage in Colorado Springs on Saturday. Please check the AHS Warriors website or Instagram (abkgirlssoccer) for updates throughout the week. Contact Coach Hampshire with any questions. Have fun and work hard!

*Our Girls Basketball Team is playing in the Sweet 16 round of the state playoffs tonight at 6:30 PM against Grandview at Grandview HS. General Admission is $9, K-12 Students & Senior Citizens $7 at the door. Come to the game to cheer on our Warriors!
