General Announcements

HO! HO! HO! We are so close to our goal of 1000 toys and more toys keep arriving. Way to go Warriors! We truly appreciate all of your contributions and so will the kids at Barrett Elementary and the Denver Indian Family Services Center. You may still bring toys to the Attendance Office next week.

The Wrapping Party will be held Monday, Dec 8 right after school in the cafeteria. Please come help wrap and get the toys ready for delivery. Last year we wrapped 600 toys in 45 minutes. We are counting on you. See you Monday.

Congratulations to our talented mathematicians! Thirteen students earned a high score on the First Round of the University of Northern Colorado Math Competition and are invited to participate in the Final Round on the Greeley Campus in January. Please recognize the following students for their superior efforts: Freshman – Bridget Louis, Sophomore – Jasmine Griffin, Juniors – Laine Greaves-Smith, Brian Guymon, Natalie Jones, Tom Roberts, Kyle Stachowiak, Seniors – Ryan Beckett, Kevin Fiorini, Thomas Newbold, Matt Schmidt, Patrick Wyman and Spencer Zepelin.

Good luck to all members of the Warrior Marching Band who will be performing in the Downtown Denver Parade of Lights tonight and tomorrow night. Arapahoe is one of only 8 marching bands selected to perform in this year’s parade. Tonight’s parade starts at 8pm, and is televised on channel 9. Tomorrow’s parade starts at 6pm and is not televised. The Warrior Marching Band is the third band in the parade – we are unit #8. We should be televised tonight around 8:20pm or so. Good luck Warrior Marching Band!!

Important TSA reminder: All paperwork and money for the TSA State conference is due at the next TSA meeting, on Tues, Dec 9. It is very important to get your money in if you plan on attending the State conference in February. Please plan on attending the Holiday TSA club meeting next Tuesday as pizza will be served as we compete in our annual “Tech Bowl Challenge”.

Athletics

The girls swim and dive team won against Smoky Hill last night 104-82. The team was lead by Meg Perron, Devon Smith, and Morgan Turley, who all qualified for state, along with divers Beth Ambrozic and Dani Howe who also qualified for state. Come support the girls tomorrow at Arapahoe Relays at noon at the Arapahoe pool.

Hey Arapahoe! You have helped your Varsity Cheers and Toms support our athletic teams all year long. Now it’s time to support them as they take the floor at the Denver Coliseum today at the CHSAA State Spirit Championships. The Toms compete at 11:45 a.m. and Cheers at 1:50 p.m. If you are unscheduled during those hours, why not come cheer them on! Good luck to both our Warrior Cheers and Toms!
