General Announcements

Way to go Warriors! The Wrapping Party was a huge success. More than 100 students came to help wrap nearly 700 toys in just 55 minutes! Thank you to all who are participated. You are incredible!

Congratulations to our Knowledge Master Open Team! Their efforts earned Arapahoe 6th place out of 19 Colorado High Schools. Please recognize Laura Brennan, Ben Horblit, Jon Karr and Alyse White.

Drama club would like to thank students, staff, and administration for their support. We attended the Colorado State Thespian Conference over the weekend. Michael Hewitt won “Best Male Performer” award, Whitney Semin won “Best Individual Vocal” award, Katie Orlandini won “Best Scenic Design” Award. Laine Greaves Smith received “Superior Ratings” for Lighting and won the “Tech Olympics”. All Arapahoe Seniors who auditioned for college scholarships received callbacks and many were offered scholarships Again thank you for your support of the arts.

We just received word yesterday that our Warrior Marching Band did place 1st overall in the 2008 Parade of Lights! Arapahoe placed 2nd in Saturday’s Lighting/Decorating competition, putting them in 1st place overall!! Congrats Warrior Band!!!

Hot off the press -- the new issue of the Arapahoe Herald is out today! Pick up your copy from your 2nd period teacher or from the newspaper racks in the cafeteria.

Important TSA reminder: All paperwork and money for the TSA State conference is due at the TSA meeting today. It is very important to get your money in if you plan on attending the State conference in February. Please plan on attending the Holiday TSA club meeting, we’re serving pizza while we compete in our annual “Tech Bowl Challenge”.

Auditions for winter show will be Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. See Mr. Earley or callboard for details.

Don’t forget! The scavenger hunt for Spanish club has started! Come to the world language office for the list of clues. The hunt ends Thursday. Grand prize is a gift card to Chipotle. Prizes available for first and second place finishers! Come and Participate!

Hey FBLA members! Come celebrate the holidays at our last meeting of the year, Wednesday, December 10 in S5, right after school! We will have movies, hot cocoa, snacks, and supplies to make holiday greeting cards for a retirement home! And just a reminder, testing will take place right after we get back! If you need study material please see Mrs. Swank in the Business Office ASAP! If you have not paid your district competition dues yet they are due by December 10th.

Hey all you starving artists, time is running out to submit to the MUSE. If you’re interested in submitting, keep an eye out for the blue cups in every C classroom. They have information on how to get published. So if you have any poems, stories or artwork you want recognized, submit before winter break!

French Club will be going to Café de France for lunch on Sunday, December 14 at 1:00. If you need a ride or if your parent can drive, please see Ms. Condon in the World Languages Office. You will need about $20. Hope

Athletics

There will be a Special Olympic basketball practice Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the AHS main gym. Also, Avalon Photography will be coming and taking pictures so all partners and players need to wear their uniforms that night.
