General Announcements

Way to go Warriors! The Wrapping Party was a huge success. More than 100 students came to help wrap nearly 700 toys in just 45 minutes! Thank you to all who participated. You are incredible!

Congratulations to the Warrior Band and Color Guard on placing second overall in the Denver Parade of Lights Competition held last weekend! The Band and Color Guard performed live in front of nearly 400,000 people.

Congratulations to the following students who were selected to the All-State Orchestras:
Symphony Orchestra: Kelly Churchill, Flute; Ian Rictor, Saxophone; and Kevin Matthews, Percussion.
Philharmonic Orchestra: Emily Haller, Flute and Emily Haskins, Piccolo.
These five musicians are tops in all of Colorado!

Congratulations to all of the new National Honor Society members who were inducted last night. It was a wonderful ceremony that honored this great achievement by over 170 AHS juniors and seniors. Reminder to all members of NHS, whether inducted this year or last, we have a short meeting after school this Wednesday in the forum. Our yearbook picture will be taken at this meeting, so make sure to be there and to be on time.

Congratulations to Andrew Ryan who has been selected to perform in the 2010 Colorado All State Symphony Orchestra.

Don’t forget, today during first lunch is the Bronco Assembly. Miles, players and cheerleaders will be here to help us celebrate winning the canned food drive.

Student Council members – there will be a 5 minute stand up meeting in C24 immediately after school today to share the results of this morning’s meeting.

Have you taken Business Technology 1 yet? If not, this announcement is VERY IMPORTANT for you! The business department is offering the BT1 Proficiency Exam today from 2:30-4:00 in room S3. If you pass this exam you can enroll directly in Advanced Business Technology 2 for your graduation requirement. Stop by the Business Dept. if you have any questions.

Attention all FCCLA members: Don’t forget we will be baking cookies today after school for tomorrow’s cookie decorating party. Please plan to meet in room E2 right after school today!

Don’t miss the Choir and Orchestra Holiday Concert on Wednesday night. It’s at 7:00 in the theater and features the Orchestra, Women’s and Men’s Choirs, Concert Choir Choralettes and Arapahoe Singers.

FBLA, it’s time to meet Wednesday after school in room S1 to receive your materials for competition. Please come by and pick them up. We will also be writing cards to deliver to the nursing home.


Attention all DECA competitors! There will be a mandatory District meeting this Thursday right after school in room S1.

ATTENTION ALL ART CLUB MEMBERS!! Remember, we are sponsoring a family for Christmas. Your donation towards gifts for the family needs to be turned in to Mrs. Hawthorne or Mrs. Hitchens by this Friday.

Hey TSA, due to an afternoon meeting next Monday, our TSA Holiday Pizza party has been moved to next Tuesday, after Finals at 12:15 in E10. You may bring your State TSA Conference registration packet and payment to this meeting as the deadline will be extended until then. If you haven’t received your State Conference packet, please see Mr. McMullen. Hope to see everyone there!!

Athletics

Congratulations to the Sophomore Boys’ Basketball team on their outstanding performance last night. Arapahoe defeated Heritage by a score of 51-19. Way to go Warriors!

Due to the weather in Colorado Springs, the girls basketball games scheduled for tonight at Rampart High School have been cancelled.

Attention Arapahoe Swimmers. The lineup for the Overland meet is posted on the foyer windows. All swimmers should confirm and check their events. If you have any questions, see Coach Richmond.
