General Announcements

Hello Warriors!  We are extremely proud to announce the names of the Semi Finalists and Commended Scholars in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program, as well as the College Board National Hispanic Scholar.  These students are honored for their outstanding performance on the 2014 PSAT, which they took last October.  The Semi Finalists are:  Atlee Witt, and Zach Woosley.  The Commended Scholars are:  Ell Eshleman, Lexie Golden, Julia Goncalves, Ethan Hoggan, Lucy Lutz, Sarah McEntire, Abigail Rictor, Hunter Sanborn, Graham Shapley, Sarah Slack, Ethan Snow, Gabrielle Stein, Emma Vahle, and Emily Webb. The College Board National Hispanic Scholar is:  Lena Chavez.  If you see these seniors in class or in the halls, please congratulate them.  Great job Warriors!

We have three days left Warriors to collect healthy non-perishable food items for the fall food drive. Please bring in more items and drop them off in classrooms and locations throughout the school. All food is being delivered to Centennial Academy and East Elementary schools. Your help will make a big difference!

Have you checked the Library Fine list lately? Students have the opportunity to reduce their Library fine by 50₵ for every non-perishable food item brought to the library. Help yourself while helping someone else in need. Canned food trades will be accepted in the Library through November 9th.

Are you competing at DECA Districts? You only have TWO MORE DAYS left to get your testing done! Make sure to sign up before it's too late!

Athletics

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team was victorious in a double overtime shootout yesterday against Rampart High School. Wilmer Ramirez scored the goal in regulation which ended in a 1-1 tie. A host of others scored on penalty kicks during the shootout, and Goalkeeper James Conley made some outstanding saves for the win. They now advance to the Elite 8 Quarterfinal round, with a game this Saturday – details to come. Congratulations Warriors!

Arapahoe will host Bear Creek in the 1st Round of the football playoffs tomorrow at LPS Stadium at 7:00 p.m.  All Arapahoe students will need to purchase a ticket for this playoff game - no SBA passes will be accepted.  We will be pre-selling tickets in the cafeteria during lunches today and tomorrow.  Ticket prices are $5 for students and $8 for adults.  The Football booster club will be selling t-shirts tomorrow during both lunches in the bubble at the East entrance.
