*An important announcement from Assistant Principal Ms. Kuhlmann:
Good morning Warriors, this is Mrs. Kuhlmann with some important COVID-related and activities-office updates for you this morning.
As I’m sure you have heard, currently we are the only large high school in LPS still operating in the hybrid model with in-person days. We are trying hard to keep it that way, but we still need your help. You’re doing a great job social distancing and mask-wearing in your classrooms, where we really need your help is at lunch. We know that to avoid quarantine you must be 6 ft. apart with a mask on and 12. Feet apart with your masks off while eating lunch. While we recognize a 12 ft distance is not always possible, especially in the cafeteria, we need you to put your masks BACK on when you are finished eating. Please be respectful of the “sit here stickers” and stay spaced out at the lunch tables. Crowding one another or overloading tables will not be allowed. Thank you for continuing to take care of one another while being cautious during this time.
There are several items of note from the Activities Office this week that we hope you join in on. With COVID-19 placing restrictions on many of the fun activities we are used to, when we can have some fun, donate, or play along, we hope that you will.
First, this week we celebrate the contributions made by our military Veterans. Please stop by the cafeteria security office to write a note or name a friend/family member who currently or previously served our great country.
Next, this week we kick off our annual Toy Drive supporting Strive Prep Ruby Hill Elementary. These students are in great need of some holiday cheer and we need you! Your gift of toys, money, and general support! If you get a toy, please make sure it’s not a weapon, doesn’t require batteries, and is age-appropriate for elementary students. Place donations in the big christmas-wrapped boxes throughout the school.
Finally, our first ever Virtual Pep Assembly is in production! We need you to come play along with us as we try to recreate as closely as possible some of our AHS traditions assembly-style. If you’d like to be a part of the Cheers leading your class to competition victory, see your LPS email! There’s a signup included that allows the first 25 A-Z from each class to come cheer after school this week. May the loudest, rowdiest class win.
Thank you for playing along this week. Activities at school are still happening, and we hope you join in as soon as you can.
And now back to your daily announcements!
