General Announcements
*Good morning, Warriors! This is Mr. Hilsden, and it’s an honor to speak to you about my time in the military. The motto of the Royal Military College of Canada, where I graduated from after high school, is Truth, Duty, Valour. I chose the path of military service for the challenges it offered, and as an officer in the Canadian Army’s Communications and Electronics Engineering Branch, I was pushed to limits far beyond what I thought possible.
Time in the military taught me the true meaning of teamwork, discipline, and leadership, lessons that have guided me ever since. Although I never served overseas, I had the privilege of training with soldiers who did—true Warriors who showed me what sacrifice and commitment look like.
The values I learned in the military—Truth, living with integrity; Duty, fulfilling my responsibilities to the best of my ability; and Valour, courage to face new challenges—are values of the Warrior spirit. You are able to do more than you think, to test your limits mentally and physically. Go be a Warrior today! Thank-you.
