Congratulations goes out to your Arapahoe Boys Track and Field Team for winning the 5A state track and field championships this past weekend. They scored a total of 53 points edging out second place Cherry Creek who scored 50 points. This is the first time ‘ever’ that Arapahoe has won the State Track Championship. The following individuals make up the State Championship team.

The winning team shot a 4 under par score. The team members were Sarah Moore, Kaity Mattei, Reid Howey and Mr. Holman. Placing second was the team of Leslie McGetrick, Rachel Larson, Mrs Marchino and Mr. Bartholomew.

The Varsity Hockey Team won the State Championship this weekend defeating Mullen 4-2. They also beat Heritage on Thursday in a shoot out in the first round of the playoffs. Also the JV team got second place on Saturday. Congratulations teams!
The Continental League has announced the All League Team for Girls Lacrosse. Three Arapahoe Varsity players were selected for 1st Team All-League. They are Kate Spring, Katie Gerhard, and Adison Rounds. These Warriors will play in the All-Star Lacrosse Tournament this coming Friday evening starting at 5:00 at Regis High School. Congratulations Ladies. We're proud to have you representing Arapahoe.

The girls varsity tennis team just completed their season over the weekend with the state tennis tournament. The #1 doubles team of Molly Ray and Lauren Stemper lost a tough match in the semifinals. Overall, the team took home the trophy for the State Sportsmanship award. Congratulations to all the girls for a great season!
Attention Softball players. Practice for this week will be held on Monday and Wednesday. Hope to see you today at 3:00 on the softball field.

The award winning Arapahoe Color Guard is holding clinics and auditions for the 2008-09 school year. Please plan on attending today’s tryout clinic from 3 until 5pm. Tryouts will be held tomorrow, Thursday, May 8th from 6 until 9pm.
Tonight is the Annual Spring Band Concert in the Theatre. The Pre-Concert Small Ensembles will start performing at approximately 5:50pm, followed by the main concert at 7pm. We’ll be honoring the Class of 2008. Be sure and catch flute player, Roxy Steinberg, performing her senior feature, “Carmen Fantasy!” The grand finale of the night will be all 3 bands combined, in a premiere performance of next year’s exciting marching band field show, “Triumph of the Valiant!”

GOOD MORNING WARRIORS! The Entrepreneurship class is selling A-Rap Headbands. These sylish bands are only $7 apiece and there are only a few left. So show your school pride and come on down to the cafeteria during 2nd lunch to get yours before it's too late!
The Muse ipoem contest has concluded and our semi-distinguished panel of judges has made a decision. We enjoyed viewing and hearing them all, and had a difficult time choosing our first place winner, who will receive an ipod shuffle. We’d like to announce our top winner as well as two runner ups, who submitted fine poems. You can find all three of these online by going to the Arapahoe Web page and looking for ipoem winners.
1st Place, for the poem “Cthulu (pronounced ku-thew-lew) Converses with his Master” by Allie Fresch

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity lacrosse team as they defeated Boulder 14-2. The team advances to the State Quarterfinals and will play this weekend. Details to follow.
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team on their victory in State quarter-finals last night. They defeated Colorado Academy by a score of 11 - 9. Scoring for the Warriors were Adison Rounds 4 goals 1 assist, Kate Spring 2 goals 1 assist, Stacey Birlson 1 goal, 1 assist, Megan O'Donnell 1 goal, 1 assist, Channing Ahbe, Katie Gerhard, and Sammy MacCurdy each with 1 goal. Goalie Jen Weidner had 3 saves. The girls next game will be the State Semi-finals. They will play Saturday at 11:00 am at Douglas County Stadium. The team truly appreciates the support they have received from all of the fans that have come to the games throughout the season. The Muse ipoem contest has concluded and our semi-distinguished panel of judges has made a decision. We enjoyed viewing and hearing them all, and had a difficult time choosing our first place winner, who will receive an ipod shuffle. We’d like to announce our top winner as well as two runner ups, who submitted fine poems. You can find all 3 poems on the Arapahoe web site.

Tomorrow night is the Annual Spring Band Concert in the Theatre. The Pre-Concert Small Ensembles will start performing at approximately 5:50pm, followed by the main concert at 7pm. We’ll be honoring the Class of 2008. Be sure and catch flute player, Roxy Steinberg, performing her senior feature, “Carmen Fantasy!” The grand finale of the night will be all 3 bands combined, in a premiere performance of next year’s exciting marching band field show, “Triumph of the Valiant!”
The award winning Arapahoe Color Guard is holding clinics and auditions for the 2008-09 school year. Please plan on attending today’s tryout clinic from 3 until 5pm. Another one will take place tomorrow at the same time. Tryouts will be held on Thursday, May 8th from 6 until 9pm.

The Boys Varsity lacrosse team plays against Boulder tonight, 7:30 p.m. at LPS. It is the second round of the playoffs. Come cheer the team to victory!
Congrats to the girls JV soccer team who defeated Fairview 5 – 1 in their last game of the season. The girls won league and ended with a 13 – 1 – 1 record. Good job ladies.

Seniors and Juniors!!! Shall We Dance??? Prom is Saturday, May 10th. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches through Friday, May 9. Tickets purchased before prom are $38 each, but $45 at the door the night of Prom. So don’t put it off! You MUST have a photo id with you to purchase tickets.
FBLA we are meeting today to finalize lettering and taking pictures for our slide show. We will be announcing our leadership team for next year. See you in room S1 at 2:30.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe baseball team who was recently honored as Continental League Champions and just this past weekend became District 6 Champions as well. The team is now among the final eight teams in the State and starting this Friday will continue their journey toward a State Championship. Go Warriors!
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team. On Friday afternoon they defeated St. Mary's Academy 11 - 7 in the first round of Playoffs. Scoring for the Warriors were Kate Spring 4 goals, 1 assist, Adison Rounds, 3 goals, Beth Ambrozic 1 goal, 1 assist, Channing Ahbe, Annaliese Clark, and Katie Gerhard each with 1 goal, Stacey Birlson 2 assists, and Megan O'Donnell 1 assist. Goalie Jen Weidner had 4 saves. Great start to the playoffs Ladies. The Warriors will take on Colorado Academy next in the State Quarter-finals. That date will be announced once it is determined.

We will be passing out important Packets for TSA Nationals. This is a mandatory meeting for ALL TSA students looking to attend the TSA Nationals conference in Orlando this summer.”
Come on out to tonight's Spring Jazz Concert starting at 7pm in the cafeteria. Jazz I, The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs, and Jazz II will be featured. The concert is free, and complimentary dessert and beverages will be served throughout the evening.
