General Announcements

Student Council Elections will take place today. All Fresh, Soph and Junior students are encouraged to vote for their new class office and executive office positions. Please show your student I.D. Voting will take place all day in the cafeteria. YOUR VOTE COUNTS so PLEASE VOTE.

Seniors please pick up your Graduation tickets in the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 7, during lunches.

Seniors and Juniors!!! Shall We Dance??? Prom is Saturday, May 10th. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches through Friday, May 9. Tickets purchased before prom are $38 each, but $45 at the door the night of Prom. So don’t put it off! You MUST have a photo id with you to purchase tickets.

FBLA we are meeting today to finalize lettering and taking pictures for our slide show. We will be announcing our leadership team for next year. See you in room S1 at 2:30.

Attention all Warriors and Habitat for Humanity members: If you are interested in building with Habitat for Humanity this summer, please come to a meeting today after school in room C-18. We are building our own house and welcome all the help we can get! Builders must be at least 16 years old.

Fiesta!!! Spanish club will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration today, at 2:30 outside by the forum. Come participate in the festivities including the breaking of the piƱata! Ole!

The award winning Arapahoe Color Guard is holding clinics and auditions for the 2008-09 school year. Please plan on attending the required parent/student informational meeting tonight in Room E-9, at 7pm. Tryout clinics will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 until 5pm. Tryouts will be held on Thursday, May 8th from 6 until 9pm.

"This is a reminder to all TSA members who qualified for Nationals. Your paper work and money are due by the end of the day Tuesday if you are planning to attend the National conference this summer."

2008-2009 LINK CREW Leaders and A-Team Members, remember to join us Wednesday in the Forum for May Play Day Beginning at 4:00p.m.

SENIORS….The Library has two important dates for you to remember.
Friday, May 9th is the deadline to return all your Library materials!
Tuesday, May 13th is the deadline to pay any fines.
You will not receive you cap and gown if you have any outstanding fines or holds so check the fines lists.

Congratulations to our top mathematicians who earned high scores on the American Mathematics Competition! The winner for the AMC-10 Contest B is Kyle Stachowiak. Winners for the AMC-12 Contest B with a team score of 292.5 are Spencer Zepelin, Sean Egan and Patrick Wyman. The winner for the AMC-10 Contest B is Nicholas Broady. Winners for the AMC-12 Contest B with a team score of 279.0 are Sean Egan, Tom Roberts and Jeffrey Nadel. Great job Arapahoe!

Athletics

Your girl’s varsity tennis team took 2nd place last Friday at the regional tournament. The following girls qualified for the State Tennis Tournament this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday: Sarah Ray; Suzanne Chang; Annie Lorenzo; Molly Ray and Lauren Stemper; Anna Blakney and Kelly Ervine; Lara McDougald and Teresa Yeh; Alex Bok and Margaux Lips. Congratulations girls!

Congratulations to the Arapahoe baseball team who was recently honored as Continental League Champions and just this past weekend became District 6 Champions as well. The team is now among the final eight teams in the State and starting this Friday will continue their journey toward a State Championship. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team. On Friday afternoon they defeated St. Mary's Academy 11 - 7 in the first round of Playoffs. Scoring for the Warriors were Kate Spring 4 goals, 1 assist, Adison Rounds, 3 goals, Beth Ambrozic 1 goal, 1 assist, Channing Ahbe, Annaliese Clark, and Katie Gerhard each with 1 goal, Stacey Birlson 2 assists, and Megan O'Donnell 1 assist. Goalie Jen Weidner had 4 saves. Great start to the playoffs Ladies. The Warriors will take on Colorado Academy next in the State Quarter-finals. That date will be announced once it is determined.
