General Announcements

Thank you to all who participated in the AHS Toys for Tots toy drive. We received 1256 toys for the kids at Schmitt Elementary and the Denver Indian Center, well surpassing our 1000 toy goal! We wish you all the happiness you are bringing to others. You are an incredible Arapahoe family. The wrapping party is today after school in the cafeteria. Please come help wrap. We appreciate you!

Attention all students! You will receive your 2nd Semester Schedules in your 3rd hour class today, December 6th. Please see Mrs. Flinders in the Guidance Center if you do not have a 3rd hour class today.

Pictures for Special Olympic basketball will be tonight at 6:10 pm for individuals and 6:30 pm for group pictures in the main gym.

Attention NHS members—all new NHS members MUST ATTEND the induction ceremony rehearsal in the theatre right after school at 2:20 on Monday, Dec.6. Attendance is mandatory, so please let your coaches and parents know ahead of time. Also, remember that the ceremony itself begins promptly at 7 pm on Monday, Dec. 6. Please be on time and dress formally. Lastly, we need current members of NHS who were inducted last year to help pass out programs, set up the theatre, and set up the refreshment table. You will receive volunteer hours for this. If you are interested, please see Ms. Leclaire or Mr. Smith right away.

Sophomores, the PLAN test results are here! Please come and pick them up in the Guidance Center!

Hey freshmen! Final Exams are quickly approaching and it’s time to get your study on! Join Link Crew on Wednesday, December 8th at 2:30 in the cafeteria for Cramfest. Link Leaders and teachers from various departments will be available to answer questions and offer study tips to help you prepare for final exams. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. Don’t miss this opportunity to study with your friends and Link Leaders!

Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard on a strong third place finish in the Friday Parade of Lights Marching and Music competition. Our Warriors were amazing!

Are you interested in photography? Do you just enjoy the beauty of a creative photograph? Come and see some of the great work students at the Cherry Creek Commercial Photography program have produced. Their Winter Open House is at Cherry Creek High School on Tuesday, December 14 from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Hey Juniors and Seniors, the After Prom Committee would like to hear from you! This is your chance to share ideas you think would make After Prom the very best ever! Please write down your ideas and suggestions and put them in the box in the guidance center. We look forward to all students' ideas! This is your After Prom night, and we want to make it fun for everyone. We will take suggestions until Winter Break.

Athletics
CONGRATULATIONS to our Arapahoe Warrior Varsity Cheers! The Cheers competed last Friday night at the 2010 CHSAA State Spirit Competition. Out of 47 teams in the 5A All Girl Cheer Division, our Warriors captured first place in the preliminary round with a nearly flawless routine. The girls ended up finishing 5th in the state after the final round. The Cheers will be performing their State routine at the Winter Assembly in January! Congratulations Cheers – Way to go!!!!


Congratulations to the Arapahoe Toms who placed 3rd in the State Pom Championships. In finals, they performed an amazingly perfect routine. Thank you Toms for representing Arapahoe with such a high level of excellence. Way to go Toms!!
Congratulations the Freshmen/sophomore wrestling team Winning the Raider Invitational this weekend. The Warriors had two individual Champions, and many place winners.

Congratulations to the Varsity Wrestling team, placing fourth in the Warrior Invitational. The Warriors had seven place winners including two-runner up champions, Taylor Foss and J.J. Rohde, and two third place finishers, Jeff Rice, and Seth Hardcastle. The Warriors take on Eaglecrest on Thursday, kicking off Centennial League action.

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team for their 3rd place finish in the Rock Canyon tournament this past weekend. The Lady Warriors earned the 3rd place finish with an exciting 59-56 come from behind victory over D'Evelyn High School on Saturday, it was a tremendous team effort . The Lady Warriors have their first home game tomorrow evening against Mesa Ridge with the JV game beginning at 5:30 and the Varsity at 7:00. Come out and support your Lady Warriors.
