Announcements:
This announcement is for all 17 and 18 year old young men. If you have not registered with the Selective Service, this is the time to do it. Federal law requires all men living in the United States to register within a month of their 18th birthday. Registering keeps you eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs and driver’s license renewal in most states. You can get a Selective Service registration card at your local post office or register online at www.sss.gov. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Snyder in the Guidance Office. Be sure to register for Selective Service as soon as you can. Your future depends on it.
"You Matter" will not meet today after school, but will resume next Tuesday at 2:30 in room C-13. Here's a thought for this week: "Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other." (Walter Elliot)
Attention, sophomores and juniors! We still have a few PLAN and PSAT results in the Guidance Office. If you have not yet picked up your PLAN or PSAT results, please come and pick them up right away!
Athletics:
Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball Team for a Big win last night over Grandview 52-45. The win avenges the Lady Warriors only league loss and moves them into a tie with Grandview at the top of the Centennial League with 2 games remaining. To say the win was a tremendous "TEAM" effort would be understated. The team was led in scoring by Amanda Martinez with a game high 18 points, Stacey Lukasiewicz with 15 and Carly Buechler with 13. Your Lady Warriors, 11 and 1 in league and 16 and 5 overall, are in action next here at AHS on Wednesday against Overland. Please plan to come out and support your Lady Warriors.
Spring Sports are just around the corner! Registration will take place starting today in the Cafeteria during lunches. Boys & Girls Track today, Baseball and Boys Swim/Dive on Wednesday, February 15th, Girls Golf, Soccer and Tennis on Thursday, February 16th. Stop by the Athletic Office and pick up your registration paperwork. Don't delay - first day of practices are on Monday, February 27th!
Student Insurance coverage is available to all High School students thru K12 Accident and Health. Enrolling is easy and the premium is very inexpensive. Please stop by the Athletic Office to pick up an information sheet. Just a reminder that all students who are going to try out for or be active on a High School athletic team must have insurance prior to registration.
