General Announcements

HO!  HO!  HO!  AHS Toys for Tots has a goal of 1,000 toys for Valverde Elementary and the Denver Indian Center.  We now have about 300 toys in the building.  We need 700 more toys to meet our goal.  We only have 3 more school days to bring them in. Bring your toys tomorrow. Warriors will make it happen!

In honor of Toys for Tots, tomorrow is Holiday Apparel Day! Wear your ugly sweaters, holiday ties, elf costumes, and winter clothes! Don't forget to bring a toy in for Toys for Tots! This week is the last week Warriors!

The first round of club photos for the yearbook will take place after school tomorrow in the theatre.  Members of the Drama Club, International Thespian Society, Sign Club, Writing Club and the Muse should plan to get your group photo taken.

A reminder to all FBLA Members.  There is an FBLA meeting this Wednesday after school in Room E9.

Here’s an important reminder to brand new members of National Honor Society: Our induction ceremony is Monday night at 7:00 pm.  Our mandatory dress rehearsal is Monday after school at 2:30 in the theater, and it will last approximately an hour.  Then you will need to be back in the theater between 6:30 and 6:45 for this important event.

For members of National Honor Society that were inducted last year, our monthly meeting for December will be held after school on Wednesday at 2:25 in the Forum.  At this short meeting, you can turn in your 1st semester service log, or you can turn it in anytime by the end of the semester to Mr. Smith's desk in the science office.

Athletics

Our Varsity Lady Warriors basketball started their 2013-2014 season with a dominating performance against cross town rival Heritage. With a defense lead by Paige Husa and Jennah Knafelc and an equally commanding inside game lead by Mikaela Moore and Maria Haas, the Lady Warriors beat Heritage 55-19. Come out and support AHS girls basketball this season!

Good luck today to the girls swimming and diving teams. JV at Creek and Varsity vs Lewis Palmer at home at 4:30. Come on over to the pool and cheer on our warriors!
