General Announcements
Attention future
doctors and teachers! Today is the day! The Health Sciences and
Teacher Cadet programs are hosting an open house from 3:00-7:00 pm at
the Ames Facility. These programs are a wonderful start to all students
considering a career in the medical field or the field of teaching.
Students will get hands on experience and start networking in the career field
of their dreams. Please see your counselor for more information.
The Winter Dance is
coming up, Saturday January 28th ! Starting tomorrow, Tom’s and Cheers will be
selling tickets during the lunch periods, $3.00 in advance, $5.00 at the door. The Dress is Western Casual, AHS Dress Code
Applies. This dance is for AHS students only.
Do you randomly burst into song? Ever
dance through the halls? Do you want to be a part of Arapahoe High School
history? Have we got the show for you! Auditions for the Spring Musical, Parmageddon, will be held
January 31st through February 1st in the theatre. Go to the choir room or
theatre hallway to sign up! Check Mr. Ahern’s or Ms. Parmenter’s webpage for
more information.
Have you taken 3 business classes?
If so, you may be eligible to be a member of the National Business Honor
Society. Applications will be accepted until Friday this week.
Please stop by the business department to pick up an application.
Key Clubbers! Our first meeting back will
be held next Monday the 23rd in E-1287, the tiered classroom. We
have important information for you, so make sure you attend.
Come one; come all this Friday night to see the Company class perform
12th Night by William Shakespeare. Admission is free for everyone, so don't
miss one of Shakespeare's most famous comedies this Friday at 7:00pm in the
AHS theatre.
Junior, sophomore,
and freshmen students & parents/guardians, you are invited to attend the
2017 College Night on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 6-8 pm. The
keynote speaker will break down the process of the college search and
determining which college is the best fit for you. Please check your email
this week for the Google response form that will track your RSVP for two
breakout sessions.
Athletics
Attention all baseball players. We will have a team meeting on Monday January 23rd at 3pm in the Forum. Winter athletes do not need to attend.
AHS Girls Tennis: There will be an informational meeting
regarding tryouts and the tennis season on January 24 at 6:00pm. The
meeting will be in Room E-1287 – the tiered classroom across from the theater.
Boys Swim/Dive Kick Off meeting
for parents, swimmers and divers will be held in the Library Monday, Jan 23rdfrom 6 pm - 8 pm.
Please plan to attend so you can meet the coaches, captains, teammates, get
information and order gear for the upcoming season!
The
Varsity girls basketball team scored 90 points in defeating Smoky Hill Wednesday night. Elianna McClaire led the way with 16 points.
