General Announcements
*As a reminder, starting each Monday, we will be sharing a Mindful Moment over these announcements. A mindful moment by definition is a 1-minute mindful pause but can be anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. A mindful moment is a deliberate action you take to be mindful by attending to the here and now in a nonjudgmental way. The research shows that taking brief breaks throughout your day can help reduce your stress level, boost your mood and keep you more alert and focused. Each Monday we invite you to try a new Mindful Minute for that week in order to support your mental health.
*Freshman ~ Registration for next year's classes begin tomorrow, March 5th! Please come to the Counseling Department during your scheduled time. You are welcome to stop by the department if you have any questions.
*The March Madness Tournament of B O O K S has started in the library running throughout March. Look for your March Madness Tournament of Books survey in your LPS Infinite Campus account. Be a part of the Madness and take the weekly survey. Then stop by the Library to watch the brackets transform from 16 books down to 1 top favorite! You may also check out a title from March Madness Tournament of BOOKS in the Library. Be a part of March Madness!
*Snickers! Kit Kat! Smarties! What do these candies have in common? Candy is the theme of this years FBLA Volleyball Tournament! It's time again for the annual Arapahoe High School FBLA Volleyball Tournament! The coed tournament is on Wednesday, April 4th starting at 6 pm. Get 8 to 10 of your friends together and pick up a registration packet. Packets will be available this Thursday in the Business Department. Hurry!! Packets will be going fast!
*Warriors....it's time to buy your Warrior Week Bundles. Support Tony's wish by buying a bundle for $20.00. This includes a warrior week t-shirt, event passes and carnival tickets. These are on sale during lunches all week and before and after school on Wed. March 6th & Thursday March 7th. Everyone who purchases a bundle will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a pair of Air Pods. Whoa! Thanks for supporting Warrior Week!
*Hey Senior boys! Think you’ve got what it takes to be the 2019 Mr. Arapahoe? Don’t miss out on a chance to win FREE prom tickets and a tux for prom night. Applications are due March 22nd! They are available in the math office. We’re excited to see who will be competing for Mr. Arapahoe!
*Art Attack is back! Our annual Spring art show is coming up soon, and we need your artwork! If you have something you would like to be displayed in Art Attack, please bring it to the art department by Friday, March 22. There will be awards and prizes for the most outstanding artwork, so be sure to submit yours for consideration! See any art teacher with questions"
*Sophomores and Juniors - Have you requested a locker for next year? If you would like a locker for next year, you need to complete the locker request form found on the AHS website under Registration 2019-20. You do not need to have a locker partner to request a locker. Hurry! The locker request form will close on March 7th at 3:30pm.
Athletics
*Tuesday, March 5 is Chipotle Night for AHS Boys Swim & Dive. Please visit the Chipotle across from Arapahoe, bring in a flyer, show it on your phone, or tell them you’re supporting the team, to make sure 33% of the proceeds go to AHS Boys Swim & Dive.
