 General Announcements

 

*WE'VE GOT SPIRIT YES WE DO, WE’VE GOT SPIRIT, HOW ABOUT YOU? The First Ever AHS FALL PREMIER spirit week is October 5-10! 

  • Student council is planning "A Night with the Stars"  virtual Talent show on Oct 5th and "The Red Carpet Affair" on Saturday night Oct. 10th. Many restaurants in the area will be supporting our evening and opening their doors to welcome our AHS Hollywood Stars. Watch out for the Paparazzi!

  • Join with your club or sports team to decorate our school in Blockbuster style. Sign up today to reserve your decorating space.

  • Each day next week we will have a different Hollywood Themed Dress Up day and some class competitions. Let's make this Fall Premier Week a Five Star rating!! Ask your STUDENT COUNCIL LEADERS FOR MORE INFORMATION.

 

*Hey Warriors! A nomination form for this year’s Fall Premier Oscar Recipients was put into your ICAP google classroom. Nominate classmates who exemplify true warrior spirit, integrity, pride, and excellence! This year’s award winners will be voted on soon, so make sure to nominate today!  

 

*Calling all talented Warriors! There's still time to audition for this year's Virtual Talent Show! The deadline to submit your audition video has been extended to today, 9/24. If you can sing, dance, do magic, make people laugh, do gymnastics, do anything, there's a place for you in our show! Scan the QR code on the flyers around school to submit your video. 

 

*Juniors and Seniors! Next week, AHS will begin hosting virtual college visits on Wednesdays.  You will not need to miss any class time to attend...all visits are held during PLC, lunch, or after school.  Log in to Naviance to register for these opportunities to learn about your schools of interest.  

  

*Seniors!  Do you have an October 15th college application deadline? The College Application Tracking Form will be due on October 1st by 4:00 PM for all schools with an October 15th application deadline. See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Hall in the library if you have questions regarding the College Application Tracking form.


*Did someone say free pizza?!!! On October 1st and 2nd, all students will receive a FREE pizza meal in our cafeteria. Extra slices are just $2. Nutrition Services will have some fun giveaways too! 

 

*FBLA's next meeting is today September 24th. Join us to hear about getting your awards and shirts from state last year and your letters. Also, tune in to learn about competition, shred a-thon, and other fun events coming up.  It will be lived-streamed on the google classroom at 4pm.  The meeting will be available to view anytime after today as well.  See you there! 

 

*Did you guess this week’s “The Masked Teacher” on Instagram! Congrats to those who guessed Mr. Babcock! Watch for next week’s masked teacher clues on AHS’ Instagram account -ahswarriorsofficial.

 

*Students who check out a daily Chromebooks or power cords, please return these items to the Library before you leave for the day. By doing this, the Chromebooks will be cleaned, fully charged, and ready to be checked out the next morning.

 

*Thank you Warriors for remembering your daily health self-screenings, social distancing, wearing masks, good handwashing and recording your attendance on all virtual days.

 

Athletics


*Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for their outstanding performances in Wednesday's Centennial League Championships. The boys placed 3rd with one runner earning 2nd Team All-League honors. The girls team repeated as League Champs with four runners earning 1st Team All-League honors. 


*All girls interested in playing Basketball for AHS this coming season please email Head Coach Jerry Knafelc at jknafelc@lps.k12.co.us or jknafelc@q.com, or Coach Melissa Smart at msmart@lps.k12.co.us to receive information on Open Gyms and playing opportunities that are just now beginning. Looking forward to you joining our incredible program!


*The Junior Varsity Toms will be holding a fall audition to grow their tribe!  If you're a dancer who would like to support Arapahoe Athletics and be part of this fun spirit program, please contact Coach Katie for more information!  kzimmerman@lps.k12.co.us
