*Hello all! Our first general Thespian meeting will be after school on Thursday, September 17th! Anyone interested in getting involved in the performances and productions this year is invited to attend. *Seniors! A representative from Herff Jones will be here this Thursday and Friday, the 17th and 18th, on the South Patio from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Please take a moment to stop by for information about ordering caps and gown, announcements, class rings, and all other graduation materials! We look forward to seeing you there!
*FBLA is starting up this year! We will start in the virtual world with lettering, competition, and community service events coming up and some will be in person! Come by the business office to see the poster that has the Classroom Code and Membership code to sign up. Start earning lettering points this Thursday by viewing our FBLA overview video afterschool through Google Classroom.
*Hey Warriors! Calling all singers, musicians, magicians, dancers, and performers! Do you want to be a part of this year’s Arapahoe Talent Show? You can send in your audition by scanning the QR code on one of the flyers throughout the hallways. Auditions are due September 21st. Stop by the Activities Office in the main office with any questions.
*The Denver Military Recruiting Station is hosting a virtual meeting tonight at 5:00 PM on Military Service Academies and Scholarships available through the military. *Seniors, Session 3 of College Application Boot Camp is tomorrow during PLC. Check the stream in Google Classroom for information to have ready for this session focused on the Common App.
*Are you guessing who “The Masked Teacher” is each week? For the month of September, play along with the "The Masked Teacher" on our AHS Instagram account -ahswarriorsofficial. Watch for the two days of clues then a reveal message on the instagram story. Who do you think it is this week?
*Do you still have an LPS library book checked out from last school year, belonging to a middle school or high school library? We would love to get these books back to their "Home Libraries". Please drop them by our AHS Library, we'll check the books in, then return them for you.
*Remember to keep practicing daily health self-screenings, social distancing, wearing masks and good handwashing.
*Warriors: it is very important for you to check in to your infinite campus account to record your attendance on ALL virtual days. On Wednesdays you must be virtually present for all your class periods throughout the day.
Athletics
*Hey Warriors! We had a great weekend of cross country with races at Arapahoe, Cherry Creek, Heritage, and Grandview. The boys achieved 24 personal records and the girls 25 PRs including sophomore Ava Mitchell who set a new school record with a time of 17:48. Way to go Warriors!
*Congrats to the Varsity Softball team for defeating Mullen 11 to 3 yesterday. The Lady Warriors hit 3 homeruns in the game and played excellent defense to earn the win. Way to go Ladies. The team is back in action on Thursday at Cherry Creek.
*Congrats go out to the JV softball team for their victory against Mullen yesterday. The Lady Warriors beat the Mustangs by a score of 6 to 3. Great job ladies. Good luck against Creek on Thursday.
*Baseball players -optional practice for anyone interested in baseball begins Tuesday at 4:30 PM. See Coach Dollaghan with questions.
*Boys Lacrosse Players - If you are interested in playing in the fall lacrosse league please contact Coach Bobzien, lbobzien@lps.k12.co.us, by Thursday, September 17th.
