An Important Announcement from our Principal, Mrs. Pramenko
Good morning Warriors, this is Mrs. Pramenko. May I please have your attention for some important announcements. First off let me start by saying how incredibly great it has been to have everyone back in school this semester. You have all started off strong, dedicated and positive. As some exciting school activities and events approach it is important that you don’t do anything to jeopardize your participation in them.
First, I appreciate your attention to our dress code and your response to make corrections has been appreciated. Please remember that hats are allowed at Arapahoe, but NOT in our instructional areas. This includes classrooms, the library-media center, or inside any offices.
I also want to thank you for minding the traffic signal as you cross to the south side of our school. When you do go to the restaurants and other businesses across the street, please remember that you are representing Arapahoe! Your behavior and language is a direct reflection on not only you but on your Arapahoe teachers and staff. Please be mindful of that and encourage your peers to be positive and respectful representatives of Arapahoe.
I want to bring to your attention an important aspect of being a good Warrior. Arapahoe is a school that is known for incredible attendance and support at our events. We love when Warriors show up to support fellow Warriors. However, it has been a while since we have all been able to do so as a large group. Now that we have that opportunity, it is critical that you remember how to show spirit AND good sportsmanship. Please remember that it is never going to be ok to call out an opposing player or official in any manner - by name, by number, by description, by a nickname, etc.. It is simply not allowed and only brings others down. We are all about taking care of others here! Foul language is never tolerated.
Just like here in school, we have high expectations for you to behave with class and dignity at our events. If you are asked to leave a game for any reason, you will automatically not be allowed to attend events for 2 consecutive weeks. If you are asked a second time, you will not be allowed to attend events for the remainder of the year.
Always, and especially this week, as some of our teams take on our sister-school, Heritage in contests, you MUST commit to positive school spirit if you would like to be a part of the crowd at these games. Do the right thing Warriors cheer for the Warriors! We want a lot of positive support of school spirit at our games always and especially this week. Also, remember that dress at games must be appropriate and you must never dress like our proud Warrior mascot in any way. So let’s all wear Black and Old Gold to show our unity as the Arapahoe Warriors!!!
Finally, you may have heard that beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 Tri County Health has issued a new mask mandate for all of Arapahoe County. All persons ages 2 and up must wear a mask when indoors at a school. We will begin to implement this tomorrow morning. We will have masks available at student entrances, but not enough for everyone. Please come to school tomorrow with a mask. While it is challenging to wear a mask, at least we are all still able to be together. You will be able to take your mask off when outdoors at this time. I will keep you posted regarding any changes. Please look for an email from LPS later today. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your attention this morning! Let’s make it a great day, Warriors!
