General Announcements
*Want to listen to some student bands and support a great cause? Come to the LPS “Battle of the Bands”, this Friday, February 25th at 6:00pm at the South Fellowship Church student center. Minimum entry donation for students is $5 and for adults it is $10. All profits will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Come join us and listen to sneak peeks of Claire Beeler's EP! Hope to see you there!
*Hey, Warriors, do you like to sing? Sign up for Arapahoe Idol during Warrior Week! Ashlee, our wish kid, loves to sing. If you do too, sign up for our karaoke contest on April 4th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Keep an eye out for flyers posted around the school to sign-up, or you can sign up on Infinite Campus.
*Senior Gentlemen, we want YOU to be the next Mr. Arapahoe! Make sure to sign up. We're looking for someone who represents our school with pride and honor! If interested, please send an email to Ms. Hamilton and Ms. Davidson. Deadline is on February 28th.
*Over the next week, bring in school supplies, toys, and snacks to donate to the kids at East Elementary for their Spring Break. Please put any donations in the boxes by the Warrior head in the cafeteria, the bubble, and the forum entrance. Let’s help our friends in other parts of LPS have a restful and fun spring break!
*The 18th Annual Art Attack is underway, and the Art department is now taking pieces for this year's show. We will be collecting artwork through Friday, March 18th, so don't wait. Please swing by the Art office for information on how to submit your work. If you have any questions, please email or come in and see Mrs. Hawthorne, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.
*Students! Now is the time to sign up for a locker partner for next year. You can find the locker partner request form on the AHS website under Registration 2022-2023. The deadline to sign up for a locker partner is Friday, February 25th.
*Hey Warriors! An AHS Big Idea Project is supporting careers for the homeless! Bring any unwanted business and interview attire to the bubble on Saturday, February 26th between 10:00am and 2:30pm for donations! Any and all clothing items are welcome and preferably washed. Thank you for supporting our community!
*Free Alive @ 25 class is Tuesday, March 16th, from 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874. If you voluntarily take the class, the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 registration fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the course. Also, a lot of insurance companies will give you a discount. To register, visit www.aliveat25.us and use the password "arapahoe". If you have any questions, ask Deputy Englert.
Athletics
*Your Girls Varsity Basketball team is ranked #5 in the state. They play at home in Round 2 of the state playoffs this Friday night at 6:00pm in our Sitting Eagle Gym. A win against Lakewood on Friday night would put them into the Sweet 16. Come cheer on your Girls Varsity Basketball team. We hope to see you there!
*Congratulations to AHS Girls Swim & Dive who finished 7th at 5A State Championships. Shout out to Erin who placed 6th in Dive, and Ryan who placed 3rd in 100 yard breaststroke.
*The Warrior Aquatics Swimming and Water Polo Club at AHS invites you to our February Restaurant Fundraiser TONIGHT - Thursday February 24th from 11am to 10pm at On the Border restaurant. Dine In, Take Out, Pick Up! See the flyer for details.
*Do you think you are fast? Think you can jump? Do you think you can throw? Come on out and prove it! The Arapahoe Track & Field family would love to have you join us. We are a non-cut sport looking for anyone interested in participating this spring. It is not too late to join; go to the Arapahoe athletic website and register. Practice starts Monday, February 28th, at 3:45pm on the track. If you are interested and have any questions, please see Coach Lienemann in room W-1529.
*Anyone interested in playing baseball this spring it's not too late!!!! Tryouts begin Monday, Feb 28th. See Mr. Dollaghan in the PE Department with questions.
*The inaugural season of the CHSSA sponsored LPS Boys Volleyball will officially begin February 28th! Interested athletes for all high schools (Arapahoe, Heritage, and Littleton) can register at the Arapahoe athletic registration site online. To get the most up to date information regarding LPS Boys Volleyball, please join our email distribution list at the link posted on the school blog.
