*If you are looking for something fun to do in the middle of the week...you are in luck! We would like to invite you to join the Arapahoe Jazz Band and Jazz Combo at the 2023 LPS Jazz Showcase on Wednesday, February 8 at Newton Middle School. The showcase will start at 6:00 PM with performances every 15 minutes featuring 9 LPS jazz ensembles, 4 middle school ensembles and 5 high school ensembles. This is a FREE event for the community.
*Come to Arapahoe Vocal Music's 6th Annual Valentine's Cabaret on Friday, February 17th. The event will feature the Arapahoe Vocal Music students showcasing their diverse talents in the program’s primary annual fundraising concert. Dinner & Show $25. *Arapahoe Celebrates School Counselor Week! We are highlighting another one of our amazing counselors.
Mrs. Rivera is in her first year at Arapahoe serving students with the last names Ni-SH. Mrs. Rivera was previously a teacher for many years before making the transition to counseling. She was born and raised in New Jersey moving to Colorado several years ago. She received her diploma from Ferris High School in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from New Jersey City University with her bachelors. Education has taken Mrs. Rivera all over the world including a year in Korea. Mrs. Rivera is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese! A proud mother of two- Mrs. Rivera already loves Arapahoe High School!

*Today’s African American Pioneer in Mental Health is Beverly Greene. Beverly is the author of the landmark article "When the Therapist is White and the Patient is Black: Considerations for Psychotherapy in the Feminist Heterosexual and Lesbian Communities." She is a pioneer of intersectional psychology, and her work on heterosexism, sexism, and racism has illuminated how different intersecting facets of a person's identity shape their experiences of privilege, oppression, and mental health. Greene's work earned her the honor of the Distinguished Publication Award from the Association for Women in Psychology in 2008.

*Warriors - are you interested in being a part of the Arapahoe Girls Tennis team this spring? Join us on TONIGHT for a preseason player information meeting in room N1471 at 3:45pm. If you cannot make it, please find Coach Weyhrich in N1471, the Social Studies office or email him at pweyhrich@lps.k12.co.us.
*Attention all boys interested in Volleyball. CHSAA sponsored LPS Boys Volleyball will be holding open gyms TONIGHT and February 9th, 14th, and 16th at Littleton High School from 7 - 9pm. Tryouts begin February 27th. The LPS Boys Volleyball team is an all LPS team so students from any of our high schools are eligible to try out.
*Are you interested in playing baseball with the AHS Baseball team this spring? There is a meeting this Thursday, February 9th at 7:00pm in the Forum. See Coach Dollaghan for more details.
*It’s AHS Baseball Donut Day at We Knead Donuts (5999 S University Boulevard, Greenwood Village), Wednesday, February 8th from 6:00am - 1:00pm. Pick up donuts, breakfast burritos and more before late start and mention your supporting AHS Baseball. 10% of the food sales comes back to our teams.
*Good luck to your Varsity Cheerleading team as they head to Florida this Wednesday, February 8th to compete in the National Cheerleading Championships! The team will perform their traditional and gameday routines while in Florida. Good luck Cheers! Roll Tribe!
