General Announcements

Congratulations to the following students on being selected to the All-State Honor Band: Kelly Churchill, Emily Haller, Emily Haskins (alternate), Madison Munn, Phil Strom, Mark Weller, Tom Roberts, Grant Furry, and Kevin Matthews.
Congratulations also to the following students who were selected to the Colorado University Honor Band: Kelly Churchill, Melissa Merkel, and Grant Furry.

Congratulations to Emily Haller for being selected All-State for Choir, Orchestra and Band! This is the first time a Warrior has been selected for all three!

HEY! If you're planning on competing at the DECA State competition, make sure you turn in your permission slip and money to Mrs. Grantham by today!

Attention all FBLA members competing in the Districts Competition: It's testing time! However, there have been some deadline changes. Please see the Business Department door to check on those changes. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Swank. Thanks!

Do you want to learn how to play jazz? How about read a lead sheet? Perhaps even learn how to solo/improvise? Do you play a rhythm instrument or a wind instrument? Every Tuesday and Thursday morning during first hour the Jazz II class meets in the band room (E14). If you would like to join this creative class, please see Mr. Hackett this week.

Good news TSA… there is still time to get your State TSA Conference paperwork & money in! The deadline has been extended to THIS FRIDAY! If you wanted to attend the State conference but didn’t get your stuff in before break, here’s your chance. The next TSA meeting will be Monday after school. It is important that all members attending the State conference be at this meeting, as we will finalize Registration, Competitions and Housing.

Hey Everyone! If you are a writer or artist of any kind, this is your last chance to submit your art to the Muse by January 15th. You heard that right! The Muse magazine is extending its deadline for two weeks only. Submit art, poetry and fiction or non-fiction. Go to Muse under the Activities page for directions on how to submit. If you didn’t have time at the end of fall semester to submit something, now’s your chance to git r done!

Just a reminder to all the students that checked out books from the library before winter break, most of those books are due back. Avoid those book fines; get your books back to the library! Thanks.

Attention Students – Final first semester grades have been posted. First Semester Grade reports will be distributed in your 3rd hour class on Friday, January 8th. You may access your grades on-line at any time.

Winter Dance “A Night of Lights” will be on Saturday, January 23rd, in the Cafeteria. You may pick up dance forms in the Attendance Office or in the Main Office starting today.


Athletics

The Boys Basketball Varsity and JV teams begin Centennial League play tonight at Smoky Hill. Come support the boys -- JV at 5:30, Varsity at 7:00.

All Special Olympic basketball partners need to stop by S6 and pick up their game assignments by no later than Friday, January 8th.

Attention girls interested in playing lacrosse this spring: optional pre-season workouts will begin on Tuesday, January 12th at 6:00 AM in the main gym. They will be held at 6:00 on Tuesday and Friday mornings through February 19th. Bring your stick, running shoes and water to each workout. Please email Coach Woodward or see Coach Levi in the Social Studies office if you have any questions.
