us tomorrow in the Forum at 2:25. If you have just recently applied
for membership in National Honor Society, this meeting isn't for you yet, but
here's some important info... Letters indicating whether or not you
are accepted for membership in NHS were mailed out to home addresses
yesterday, so you should be receiving your letter this week. If you are
accepted for membership, please take the required actions to RSVP for the
induction ceremony as soon as possible. Thanks.
The canned food drive for Food Bank of the Rockies is going on
through the end of this week, and student council has some fun lunchtime
activities for you. On Wednesday, you can look forward to games at lunch, and
on Thursday and Friday we will have a raffle during both lunches. Bring two
cans with you to lunch to get a raffle ticket. We will be drawing a winner at
the end of lunch for a gift card to the DECA store. Keep bringing those cans to
the barrels all around school, and thanks for your help in supporting those in
need.
The fall play at AHS is this week! It's a Wonderful
Life opens on Thursday night
at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are on sale at lunch, $5.00 for students
and $7.00 for adults. Support Food Bank of the Rockies by bringing cans
to all three showings. Collections barrels located outside the theater. Thanks for your support!
Sunday, November 11, is Veterans’
Day. During WWI, nearly 3 million
teenage boys and girls went to work for the US defense. They deferred their educations to make
victory possible, working long hours each day in dangerous places such as
shipyards and airplane fuselage plants.
Please remember their contributions this Veterans Day.
Free Alive @ 25 class for AHS
students November 29th, 3-7:30 p.m. The class is normally $39. To sign up go to
the alive @ 25 website or there's a link on the schools website or talk to
Deputy Englert.
Athletics
On
Saturday, November 2, 2012, Arapahoe took the field against Heritage in a 5A
football game at Littleton Public Schools Stadium. There was, however, more to
the event then the Warriors 42-7 victory. During the game, the Arapahoe Cheers,
Football Team, Toms, Wrestling Team and the Littleton Thunder raised over $800
which will be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.
This would not have been possible without commitment of the five organizations
along with the parents and fans of both Arapahoe and Heritage High Schools. We
are truly a community that cares.
Arapahoe
has advanced in the 5A football playoffs and will travel on Friday, November
9th to take on Horizon at North Stadium with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. Ticket prices
will be $5 for students and $7 for adults. Go Warriors!
Hey
Warriors ~ there will be a "spirit" bus headed to the football game
on Friday at North Stadium. Bus tickets will be sold for $3 during lunch
on Wednesday and Thursday only. This bus will take students from Arapahoe to
the game and return all students to AHS after the game is over. Let's pack the
stadium with Warrior Spirit and cheer our team on to another victory! Go
Warriors!
This
