General Announcements

Have you ever wanted to travel to Scotland? How about something better! Come see Brigadoon the story of a disappearing town in Scotland. Tickets are on sale during both lunches or you can get them at the door for $8 for students and $10 for adults. Opening night is this Thursday and it runs until Saturday April 20th.  Doors open at 7 p.m.  See you there!

Congratulations goes to the following students for their accomplishments in this past weekend's National Qualifying  Speech Tournament held at Cherry Creek High School:  Karl Pierson placed third in national extemporaneous speaking earning himself a spot at the national tournament in June.  Other students performing well included Ethan Snow, who placed sixth in national extemporaneous speaking and the team of Larson Ross and Lizzie Stephani who placed sixth in public forum debate.  Considering the level of this weekend's competition, having four students represent Arapahoe High School as finalists is quite an achievement. 

Attention all FBLA Members.  Officer application forms are due tomorrow.  If you are interested in becoming an FBLA officer, please drop off the forms to Mrs. Swank or Mr. Sawyer in the Business Office.

Please visit the Science Department web page at lps2.it/science to pre-register for the medicine class. The pre-registration form will give you instructions for full registration.  The medicine class is for Seniors interested in a future medical profession and meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in the fall at 6:10 a.m.

Hey Warrriors!  The Prom talent show is Wednesday, April 24th at 5:00 and 7:00.  There is some amazing talent for you to see!  Tickets are $5 and will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches from Monday, April 22nd through Wednesday, April 24th.  Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the show.  Come and enjoy the show!!  Prom Talent Show Participants . . . If you have not picked up your participant contract from Mrs. Melin in the World Languages Office please do that today!  It needs to be signed and returned before the rehearsal. 

AP students!  The next exam pre-registration meeting will be Wednesday, April 24th in the Forum.  Meetings will take place every period, except fourth and after school from 2:30-3:00.  Plan to attend during one of your off hours.  Bring a number two, non-mechanical pencil with you.  See your AP teacher for more information.

Athletics

The Girls Varsity Tennis Team finished in 2nd place at the Phil Krause Tournament on Saturday. Winning 1st place finishers were: #1 Singles - Tate Schrooder; #2 Doubles - MacKenzie Jones & Natalie Borchelt; #4 Doubles - Lauren Myers and Callie Nicoulin; #1 Doubles team of Abi Cruz and Laura Wilms played a hard match and lost in the 3rd set 7-5.  Congratulations Varsity. 

Come out and support both the Varsity and the JV tennis teams as they take on Eaglecrest today after school.  The Varsity match starts at 3:30 at AHS. The JV match starts at 3:30 at Powell. Go Warriors. 

Please make an effort to attend baseball booster tonight at 7 p.m. in the Forum.  Agenda items will include the 2013 summer baseball program, coaches report, board elections, alumni weekend, baseball banquet, among others.  Also, spirit wear purchased will be available to pick up tomorrow night. Hope to see you there.

There will be a Heritage Hockey Informational Meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 6 p.m. at the Garlic Knot.  Come learn about the three teams for all LPS hockey players and meet the coaches. A $10 all you-can-eat pizza buffet benefits the hockey team.
